Xbox One Tour - Highly disappointed in system and graphics

Since the OP got bashed a bunch, I'll leave this for him. There is going to be some pretty negative XBOX ONE related news tomorrow.

Spill it mayne. Internet fame, at least on GAF, for the duration of the next generation is guaranteed.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REVEAL SOMETHING I NEED SOME DRAMA

Yeah, but there's a world of difference between Mortimer and Juancho. Juancho presented it as "Lol, if you think that's bad, wait until you see this other bad news!". Completely childish. Mortimer acts like an adult.

Exactly. I was condemning Juancho's post, and applauding mortimer's. Sorry if my post read as an attack on my favorite Sony insider (sorry Verendus and DemonNite!).

so they pretty much sound like they're on equal footing now.

Yeah I'd put them on even footing, this is coming from someone who loves the 360 controller and actively dislikes the DS3. It's a significant turnaround for me. I'll probably continue to just use the 360 controller on PC. The bumpers really feel terrible on the XB1 (for my handsize/typical finger placement), though others don't have an issue with it.

He did? Weird how I didn't notice.

This is the biggest hint he said.

I mean, it's not something that will be a huge deal for every single XBOX ONE owner unless you were looking forward to adding some extra items to your cart on launch, and not like the system won't have one in the box. Ok, not saying anymore. Sorry.

The console includes HDMI, Headset and Controller. He says it's related to the controller but not the controller itself.

Controller is fine(related though).

It has to be a headset and you might have to buy something in regards like the proprietary jack or they ditched that plan and you have to buy a whole new set.

Driveclub news tomorrow? Do you have a source for this, please?

Seeing game journalists on twitter sending DMs back and forth about "DriveClub" & "Friday". Just me stating it based on what I'm seeing (which is why my post was a question).

I don't have any inside info.

And related to the controller. Maybe something up with Play& Charge Kit?

I played two games myself at a Xbox Tour thingy near me and I thought it was fine. I will definitely be being one. Enjoy your non-Xbox One time.

No problem - thanks - just wanted to know if you were simply guessing or if you have something more solid to go by...

He did? Weird how I didn't notice.

Let's see, he's an admitted MS hater. He goes into a thread that based on the subject header is a negative Xbox One thread, sees the TC getting grief for his negative opinions of the console and games and posts:

You tell me, was he doing this to alleviate the negative feelings caused by the TC or exacerbate them?

it either a headset shortage or play&charge shortage.

doesn't matter that much, but XB1 owners might have to baby their pack-in headsets for while.

Assuming that Sony isn't going to offer full headset compatibility day one (they haven't officially confirmed iirc), news on headset compatibility isn't that big of a deal if its just going to be that the adapter won't be available at launch. Especially if all xbone's come with a headset anyways...pretty much on equal footing with Ps4.

if its something like adapter delay and only day 1 pre-orders coming with headset or something funky like that then i'd be a little more annoying.

on the topic of the xbone headset adapter. i really hope its priced appropriately. seeing as how the msrp for the cheap xbone headset is 24.99 i'm hoping that they throw us a bone and that the adapter is no more than half that.

graphics will improve with time. their games looking like slight improvements over current gen isn't very shocking. if you know your console history, you know you never judge a consoles graphics capabilities simply by launch games. it will improve for sure.

How could there be a shortage of headsets? Very basic pieces of tech that cost no more than a few dollars a piece!

Launch games never look that good.

Yes they do.

I wonder if Dead Rising 3 will have less characters on screen than Kameo (which had a locked smooth framerate during all that).

I dunno, maybe they cancelled it and are leaving the adapter to a third party or something.

It sounds headset adapter related, though. And they've said it'll cost money, and they've been quiet about it for a while so I guess it's about that.

Yup. Maybe the adapter won't be ready for launch, or it's really expensive.

Meh, if people want to inject a little personality into their posts thats fine with me even if its negative. A little sprinkle of troll never hurt anybody, its just a message board and we would be boring and sterile if it weren't for stuff like that.

The most shocking thing of this entire thread is that Albert felt the need to come in here and "tighten up" someone's impressions.

Actually, Albert said you shouldn't judge the Xbox One User Interface/ OS, Kinect functionality, or the quality of any of their games based on the versions and builds they are travelling around the country showing off on their Xbox One Tour.

He didn't tighten up his impressions, he simply said he shouldn't soley base his impressions on the current builds and versions they are currently allowing the general public to see and play in various cities.

He said the UI, Kinect functionality, and quality of titles are far better in their current builds than those on the Xbox Tour.

I came out completely wrong, I'm gonna put that on the time.

I meant you're making too big a deal about it.

the headsets were never meant to be packed with the console until a few months ago. now that they are being packed-in I would assume they might not have enough to sell as separate accessories.

Why demo those versions then...

So they didn't ramp up production on them after deciding to put them in each box? I find this hard to believe. Then again, it's Microsoft.

I have no idea. Just guessing, but I imagine production schedules are set far in advance since you're basically paying for the manufacturer to block out time to make your goods before they move on to someone else's.

I came out completely wrong, I'm gonna put that on the time.

I apologize if it comes off that way. I dont mind either way. At least he doesnt hide what he is. I just prefer insiders like Mortimer who take a more mature approach to these things.

Why demo those versions then...

Because of stability? Make it as easy as possible for the team running the event to manage the consoles.

You don't put out a demo with all the bells and whistles running that's coming in flaming hot. You're better off with a less impressive more stable build that you know won't crash every 5 minutes.

Why demo those versions then...

Because that's how demos work. Anything that you show to the public has to be tested first and to make sure it won't bug or crash. This takes time... The developpement continue parallel to that so by the time the demo is ready to be shown to the public the "main" branch has moved on already to better things.

He said the UI, Kinect functionality, and quality of titles are far better in their current builds than those on the Xbox Tour.

Because the random Joe public is going to find that out, impressions exist and happen and you can't really justify a negative experience even if that experience would change based of a newer build...

Edit: I wonder if that bad news coming tomorrow is the shitstorm CBOAT was talking about.

He said the UI, Kinect functionality, and quality of titles are far better in their current builds than those on the Xbox Tour.

This is a common cop-out excuse used by marketers. "Anything can change up until release" and then when it actually releases, nothing has changed.
