Xenoblade Chronicles (EU) release moved up, Now August 19th

Pretty excited. Not exactly for the 90 dollars that will come out of my wallet but... just seems fun importing a collector's edition of a great game that not many people will have in the US.

Alright :)

I've got a basic idea of what it's going to be if you guys have any texts, title suggestions, comments and or other stuff you want to see in the OP feel free to send a PM
I'm actually almost done with the OT

It's going to be pretty basic though.

Yeah, I've been tempted to cancel my CE preorder and get a standard one, but I keep deciding against it. Really glad NoE is publishing this and I'll give them full support for it by getting the CE.

Plus the CCPro and posters should be nice bonuses. Posters are supposed to come in a tube right? Thought I read that, hope so, would hate for them to be folded up.

So, in gauging the different import sites, it seems for us Amerikaners it's either :

- $50 for the standard edition
- $90 for the collector set, exclusive to GAME
(using current exchange rates)

Hmm.. Okay I've already spent the extra $40 on the CE, plus the currency conversion fee my bank will charge. Fuck it, why not?

Did anyone else pre-order as ASDA? They still seem to think the release date is September 2nd.

I did my part and i'm patiently waiting my copy from amazon.uk.More power to games like these!
I just tried to preorder from amazon UK, since I've ordered from them many times, and they say that my US address is no good. Is there something I'm not doing right? If I can't get it there, where else are americans importing from...

Video games from Amazon.co.uk can only be shipped to the following countries - UK (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales), Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. US doesn't seem to be on the list. :/

Holy crap, well where are US people preordering? I don't stray from amazon so I'm clueless.

I preordered the CE from GAME. I have ordered from 365games.com in the past and they have free shipping and are selling it for $52ish.

I got it from 365, thanks guys.

I say that the official thread should have 'where to order' info for non-europeans, it would help a lot since so many people are trying to import.

Their product page recognizes that it comes out in 13 days, so they know when it releases, they just haven't updated the orders to reflect that. I hope they ship it on time.

Well that's good. Still hoping to get through it before classes really start to kick in.

Yeah, the English voice work is surprisingly solid. It has a charm.

The acting is good. The choice of actors for some characters are a little jarring after playing the game in Japanese. I'm sure it's something I'd get used to. I felt the same way about Vic Mignogna as Junpei in Persona 3 and now I wouldn't have him any other way.

I kept meaning to ask this, but never did: Anyone ordered from asda before? How are their delivery times? I hope they don't keep me waiting for 2-3 weeks(that's what I expect).

Never wanted this game. Until now. That looks freaking awesome.

Ignorant question: I have no Wii, is it playable on Dolphin?
I'm not sure exactly how playable it is on Dolphin (It looks pretty in screenshots but I don't know how it runs) but you'll pretty much need a Wii in order to play it on Dolphin in the first place. Very few PC DVD drives are capable of reading Nintendo Optical Discs and they're not really worth the money, given how slow and outdated they are. Of course if you have any friends with a modded Wii, you could always just borrow theirs to rip the disc (If you really don't want to get your own).

It is, and it looks absolutely awesome on Dolphin. Not to mention you can play it with a 360 pad. Problem is that it's considered one of the hardest games to emulate, so you need a rather beefy system to get an acceptable framerate. And as luigiv mentioned, you need a way to get the game on your PC, as standard PC drives can't read NODs.

Man this game is going to be out and I'm going to be stuck waiting for them to ship to Canada. Oh well, I've been waiting for over a year now so another couple weeks won't hurt too much...

Waiting a couple of weeks is infinitely better than waiting for NoA to get their shit together. :I

Ugh. I can't select the United States as a country on Zavvi. What am I doing wrong?

Zavvi isn't very good dude. I used 365games.co.uk - the only difference is, you have to pay right now. But I've heard good things about 365 and terrible things about Zavvi/TheHut.

Probably an old question, but is this game supposed to be played with the Classic Controller?
Seems like most people prefer it that way, but I'm pretty sure I've seen a few people mention liking the remote+nunchuck combo better.

got 3 text messages from my friend this morning...

7:37 - The more i ignore xenoblade the more i want it so i'm going to have to make you soft mod my wii. i don't feel comfortable doing it so i required your help

7:40 - I plan on importing it.

9:46 - Nevermind. I ordered a european wii and a stepdown converter for psu.

He's always been kind of impulsive like that :lol

Is there maybe an option to turn off the battle noises the characters make? So annoying!
There's less noises and more talk later in the game. Monolith obviously didn't record tons of dialogue for the tutorial battles. Later in the game, you have the party constantly talking during battles, with many different lines and replies depending on your current active party. Must have been a ton of work.

I have to say, the UK dubbing ain't bad at all.

Wow. The voice acting in the first ten minutes is superb -- specifically those three characters. Unfortunately, what I've heard of Shulk's two partners from the beginning of the game sounds rubbish.

Wouldn't it be a step-up converter and besides its far easier just to use the US PSU (the PSU does all the voltage conversion, like that on the N64 and Gamecube as well).

Sigh... I'm still not sure if I should order this now or wait until I actually have time to play it. Is the price of this game going to go up or down in the future? I'm not really sure.
