Is there a nice video or text synopsis of the first one?

The lore is deep and I don't remember a lot of it since I played it two years ago!

Oh okay, I'm finding this fascinating. Can anyone list what changes were made between the original PC release and the subsequent PSP version? And then maybe we can have someone confirm if those changes were/weren't backported to PC. Is it like the first game, where Monster Book and additional character portraits were added to the PSP version or does it go deeper?

To my knowledge, every single PSP addition has been back-ported to our PC release. Including the additional playable characters.

If it's lore you're looking for, one Mr. Jeff posted his thoughts about a lot of the game's background plot threads that surfaced during his playthrough in the OT Thread several weeks ago:

Prologue to Beginning of Chapter 2
End of Chapter 2
End of Chapter 3
Final Chapter to Epilogue

And if you need a refresher of First Chapter's final scene you can jog your memory with this

From the looks of the trailer, a few of these threads hinted at in FC are definitely going to get touched on in SC.

Nice.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I shall buy additional Steam copies of Trails in the Sky FC to throw at my friends. Then I shall have them buy their own copies of Trails in the Sky SC.

I'm super excited for this. Definitely need to replay FC though. I barely remember the story after so long. Hopefully they put FC on sale on steam with the release of SC. I have absolutely no idea what happened to my psp copy and I am definitely getting SC on steam.

Steam release is worldwide, because it's not dumb with regions like PSN

There's a bit of region locking, the most significant is the many japanese games that are locked out from Japan and some regional f2p games.
TitS SC will definitely be available in EU, though. Don't know about Japan. Maybe XSEED can clarify.

I know, but that's only when a publisher decides to not make it available because of licensing or whatever. You don't have to submit your game seperately for regions like with Sony.

Yes! The wait is finally over! Was there any news on EU release for PSN? I would still would like to finish the game on the Vita

You need to stop making me love you guys so much, omg.

"Us guys" nothin'! That's all Sara. Sara's a miracle-worker. Some say she can process information quicker than Data from ST:TNG, and that when she sets about programming, the language actually codes her.
All we know is, she's called The Stig! ...Wait, wrong show.

...Don't mind me. I'm in a weird mood today. I think we've all gone a little loopy, on account of this announcement finally coming to pass. It's been such a long time coming, we don't know what to do with ourselves right now. ;)

I really hope we get some more concrete info soon.. I'd much prefer to carry over my own save on the Vita but I don't want to wait months :(

It won't be months. At least, it better not be! The game just got held up in bureaucracy limbo, but the second we have a definitive release date to share for the EU version, we'll let you guys know.

Thanks, Tom. I don't mind waiting, as I know a rough release window.

Thanks!

It's SC so you never know right? ;) I may end up buying both the Steam and EU PSP versions anyway. I was secretely hoping for a simultaneous launch after I saw the EU ratings pop up a while ago but I get that it's not smart to delay it further. Maybe I'll just take my time with Zestiria :)

Thank you so much for localizing this game, XSEED is the best!

Why are XSeed so determined to make sure you know
that there's a dragon
in this game? It's in a screenshot and the trailer on steam (I stopped watching at that point for fear of further spoilers). Whilst they were mentioned in the first one and I had my suspicions they may play a part later on, I'd rather have gone in not knowing.

That aside though, don't think I've been this excited for a game since I saw the FF7 trailer on TV almost 20 years ago.

That thing is also marketed in the Japanese trailers.

So will both versions have the upgrades added to the PSP version?
Such as permanently playable Mueller and Julia?

I can additionally confirm that the English PSP and PC versions are 100% feature-equal in every regard. I was speaking with Sara about that just a bit ago. PC equality on this was one of the goals from the start, and one of the reasons I was so eager to bring Sara on all those years ago, because I knew she was equal to the task.

It's all over Japanese promo materials, as said (in fact the English promo stuff is keeping things concealed spoilers that the Japanese stuff left open), and it features in a lot of dramatic scenes which are good for trailers that still aren't too spoilery.

If you think the dragon is a spoiler, oh man. Butts, holding on, et cetera.

Japanese trailers are notoriously awful fir spoilers, I rarely watch them.

FC just updated on steam and it broke the movies for me. The game runs fine but the start up bit and the movies are just a weird purple, pixelated mess. Anybody had this?

Edit: actually the falcom intro animation is a mess, playing the movies just crashes the game.

It's not the worst spoiler I'm sure, but given they were supposedly all gone, seeing one being chased by airships is just something I'd rather have been surprised by.

I've warned my partner not watch the trailer so at least one of us will be surprised :) Looking forward to many much larger surprises to come next week.

So without going into too crazy of spoiler territory, how many new characters are in Second chapter? I already knew of
the pirate girl from the first game becoming playable from the wiki
and in the trailer you see a new? Male character, is he one of the two psp additions? Not really looking for story spoilers of why they join just an idea of how many new characters join the team.

How will the transfer save work, anyway? I uninstalled the game a while back, but I believe it has cloud saving. Do I need to redownload it and keep it installed or it's just dragging a save file?

Four new permanent characters (they all join rather late), two temporary new folks.

And I doubt it's too much of a spoiler to say Kevin Graham, the new dude with the green hair, is the major addition to the playable cast.

He's a support character in the vein of Kloe (his S-Craft is nuts, and I'll say no more on that), if you don't want to use her for main healer and want to leave Tita or Olivier open for offensive use. Kevin was always part of the "base" game, not part of the PSP expanded features.

Beyond that... well, you'll just have to find out who's playable~

Yes, it's happening to me too. I'm pretty sure it's been like this for a while.

Windowed mode supposedly fixes it. Pretty annoying but at least there are only ~two videos in the entire game.

Listening to Sora no Kiseki Zanmai in celebration
That 1:40 part....

I'm amazed no one has used this yet:
W447

because it may as well be the best time ever to use this gif.

Seriously, whoever at XSEED and their collaborators that is reading this: Second Chapter should be the most anticipated game of the year (or the generation) just based on the sweat, brood, and tears it took to get this into western Sony portables and gaming computers. We should be seeing AAA-style marketing just to let the world know you climbed over the mountain tops for such a small yet dedicated following. Perhaps this game will be later bestowed upon as your crowning achievement that others might be inspired by for generations to come.

But alas, here we are now. At the very least, you guys and gals deserve the best celebration ever.

I have no idea what this means but it sounds enlightening for such a real-life epilogue.

Cool, thank you for the confirmation. I plan on getting the PSP version but I'm glad to see both versions will have the same content.

Aso is the game like FC where the party is generally predetermined until very late or do you have more control over who you can bring though the whole game?

Really? I've not played it in a long time, just loaded it up because I'm excited for SC. I guess it's not a major issue, I just don't knew what's broken them. Wanted to watch that teaser you get at the end of the game but I can wait 5 days.
