What to look forward to in 2012:

The Greater Western Sydney Giants
Hopefully the Giants can have a better first season than the Suns did in 2011, and with Sheedy at the helm, who knows what could happen.

First Game: vs. Western Bulldogs and Collingwood, NAB Cup, Round 1, Sat 18th February
First Home & Away Game - vs. Sydney, Round 1, Sat 24th March
First New South Wales Derby - See above

Greater Western Sydney Club Song

The Sun's second season
Having only won 3 games in 2011, finishing bottom of the table and clutching the wooden spoon, the Suns have a lot to prove in 2012. Will they be able to fight back and win consecutive matches or will they once again become nothing more than overpaid cones.

Shaddup!

It actually was. I previewed the thread about 10 times after adding and changing stuff, then hit submit by accident.

Some one post the link to the GWS website, everyone needs to hear the song. It's an old soviet bar song. So good.

Good stuff, Jambo. *subscribed*

Thumbs-up for the GWS song, I reckon - going for a 'traditional' sound, that will hopefully not age as quickly as other recent abominations, is to be admired. Bit wordy, though?

Still grumpy about the NAB Cup not being on free-to-air.

Oh, and go Blues.

Following West Coast and St Kilda. Still a bit cut about Lyon moving.

Will hopefully make it to the GWS games in Canberra.

Could we get a team / supporter list like the one they do in the football / soccer thread?

North supporter reporting. Listening to the game at the moment, losing to richmond feels bad mon

Did that not sure if it should be in the OP but oh well. Was thinking that having links to the the club wiki page or website could be ok

Last year was the first year I fully watched entire seasons of AFL and NRL (I'm in Texas), and I'm really excited they're back. I became a big fan of West Coast Eagles last year. Nic Naitanui is amazing to watch.

Did anyone else notice that the scoring system on Fox Footy died for about 5 minutes in the first half of the Hawks vs. North game?

Nice work getting the thread up in time.

Geelong for me. Been a supporter ever since my uncle gave me $2 to start barracking for them when I was like 10-11 yrs old. ;)

Carn the Dons!

Finals are a must!

I've been biting my tongue on you for a while, but I have to ask, are you named after the band?

because if you are (I assumed you were) I've hated you for no reason other than that :(

but now you're a bombers fan! i'm so conflicted!
(bombers for me too)

Great work by Richmond, last few minutes of the 3rd match were really, really great, tight footy.

1-1-1 after the first night!

North Fan :).

It was great watching some live footy again. The North Vs Richmond game was great viewing, and apart from the first 5-10 minutes of the North Vs Hawthorn game that was also a good contest.

I can't really speak for the other sides but from North Ben Cunnington stepped up and showed that him and Ziebell will be a great duo in the midfield this year. The surprise packet of the night from North was Robbie Tarrant's performance in the forward line.

And the Richmond player that took down Leigh Adams will definitely find himself with a few weeks off at least.

I love footy but I don't think I can bring myself to watch other teams play in the NAB Cup. Means nothing.

Is anyone interested in doing Ultimate Footy this year? It's proper fantasy football with a draft and whatever. If we can get a league we can even do a live draft.

http://www.ultimatefooty.com.au/

Sick of everyone playing DT/SC. They are so boring.

I don't every have any interest in the NAB cup, especially if it is on pay TV. AFL doesn't really start until 24/3.
