why not just give them the same exact name and have them on the two platforms? i don't see the issue there. i know they're different games kinda, but so were plenty of console/handheld releases in the past and it never was much of an issue.

also i think we're going to hear a lot from nintendo this month. it's a new fiscal year so they're going to be outlining a lot of stuff pretty much because they have to given their situation.

Think that it's also because the majority would be awake here, annoyingly.

The previous time had half of America asleep during it, or just waking up.

The only remedy can be spreading the news throughout the day but that would lessen the whole thing. In highlights post, I trust.

Nintendo always uploads these things to their Youtube channel shortly after it airs, so missing it isn't so bad.

"Cool Isabelle is an assist trophy."

Then I scrolled down..

I'm with you on that. This is the time to show that he's back.
I don't even care if he's just on screen for less than 30 secs I need to know!

I don't think Snake's gonna make a comeback because Nintendo can't/won't hire Kiefer Sutherland to voice him and Idon't think they'd take David Hayter again (although I would prefer that they'd do).

If recent rumors are to be believed we'll get Raiden instead. Which is okay in my book.

There is no way Raiden is going to be a playable character.

All I know is I hope someone from MGS is revealed in this Direct.
Snake is what got me into Smash and his reveal for Brawl for me was how people felt about the Twlight Princess reveal.

LOL for a second I thought you were talking about Raiden from Mortal Kombat. That would be pretty bad (no not badass just bad)

Only exception is be the Year of Luigi Directs that didn't have Luigi-only stuff, but all game specific Directs were only focused on said game/series.

That is true (and there was that one time when someone didn't set their clocks right and the videos were up before the direct*) and while you could fast forward it, a summary post is easier to digest at that point. In my case, I loved Xenoblade and have still not bothered to see the X gameplay shown in the last direct.

*-As in they appeared when the direct ended but the directed would have ended in an hours time.
