That was a great second half. I went to the gym and watched it there.

People were clapping and cheering when Ghana scored that second goal. Good for them.

Now come on Bosnia! Keep the hope alive!

If knockout stage ends up being only south and North American teams. I will be unsuncscribing to this thread and will not watch sports tv of any kind till July 14th.

There will be a European team seeing as FIFA made sure there were 12 slots just for European teams available...

Wut?

I'm not a fan of City at all (been following Liverpool for about 10 years) but they should be fun to watch assuming they field a decent lineup.

I'm a Man United fan, so I understand. Just being realistic. Milan have been pretty dire.

Don't know about their lineup though. Could probably give a bunch of players a rest. Who knows?
I secretly cheer only for Napoli since Berlusconi owns Milan.

I do like to see Napoli do well.

Any word on USA vs Portugal on ABC tomorrow evening? Is ABC really refusing to show on English network tv potentially the only WC game USA will play on a weekend in the entire tournament? And at a super comfortable 6pm EST time slot to boot!
They've got more important things to show, like *checks guide* Wipeout (?!?!).

[insert every laughing gif ever here]

Very embarrassing for germany, the big teams really should stop underestimating the weaker teams. If the US could beat Ghana than germany should quiet easily.

The last time Germany and Ghana played (last world cup), it was 1-0 Germany and they scored with like 15 minutes left in the game. I think we all expected Germany to win but the dominance people were expecting was laughable. It was never ever going to be a blowout.

Also, congrats to the US for winning the first game against Ghana but the game I was watching was Ghana dominating for like 75 minutes and conceding some rather shitty goals. I won't say the US shouldn't of won, I will say that that wasn't Ghana's best performance. This is the first time the US was even able to beat Ghana, I dunno why every puts so little faith in the underdog nations. They are coming to play, they have nothing to lose.

Kinda reminds me how Portugal plays. They always play better when feeling the pressure of failing any big competition. That's how they work.

That's actually the reverse of how we work. Once everyone starts putting their faith into us and think we're good we completely bomb, it's why Portugal always beats us. We can't play under pressure.

From what I heard, ABC is not able to show the US vs. Portugal game because of contractual obligations with their local affiliates, who will be showing their shitty local news programs instead. There was an article about it somewhere which my Google Fu is completely failing to turn up.

The irony is if the US played one of the 2 early games instead of the late game, they would have been on ABC. It's because it's during prime time that they can't be on ABC.

You know it's a great WC when you're compelled to DVR a match between frickin Bosnia and Nigeria to watch later, because who the fuck knows, it might end up awesome.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
I'm kind if disappointed by the US hate in this thread. It's one thing to not want a team to do well when it directly effects your team (US fans not wanting Portugal to perform well, for instance) but it seems like a lot of folks automatically root for whatever outcome is worst for us.

God forbid those of us in the states who actually care about soccer actually get excited about any amount of success. Cats acting straight up shameful up in here.

Well, I honestly thought Müller would score a lucky one during the first 15 minutes, so a blowout would have absolutely been possible. Ghana's GK choice was risky but paid off.

The hate the US team, soccer, and freedom.
2018 and 2022 WCs are going to be Fox's. Here's hoping the give more exposure to the tournament than ABC's mediocre efforts. ESPN has been superb, though. Just not so much their network tv brethren.

I find it incredible that two earlier matches will be on ABC but the 6pm Sunday evening USA match is ESPN only. Incredible. You guys should be offended or some crap.
