I'm kind if disappointed by the US hate in this thread. It's one thing to not want a team to do well when it directly effects your team (US fans not wanting Portugal to perform well, for instance) but it seems like a lot of folks automatically root for whatever outcome is worst for us.

God forbid those of us in the states who actually care about soccer actually get excited about any amount of success. Cats acting straight up shameful up in here.

2018 and 2022 WCs are going to be Fox's. Here's hoping the give more exposure to the tournament than ABC's mediocre efforts. ESPN has been superb, though. Just not so much their network tv brethren.

I find it incredible that two earlier matches will be on ABC but the 6pm Sunday evening USA match is ESPN only. Incredible. You guys should be offended or some crap.

You talk about this every time the USA has a game.

Broadcast TV in the US is controlled by local network affiliate stations. The Big 3 broadcast networks (NBC, ABC, CBS) don't actually own the vast majority of local broadcasting stations, which are independent companies which contract with them to broadcast their programming. If you think Fox will have it better in 2018 and 2022, you're going to have another thought coming.

So yeah, it's fucked up but that's the price you pay for FREEDOM.
