I only went as far as King Knight and then one of those Super Mario map encounters, but it's still too easy.

So I PM'd this guy offering to trade my 3DS code for his Wii U code, he agrees. I give him my 3DS code, and its been almost an hour later and he has yet to PM the Wii U code, after saying it will just take him a minute to get it. He did however thank me for the 3DS code. I just checked and sure enough, its been redeemed already. Thanks man. Didn't think GAF would be a place where I'd get screwed. I really hope this is just some error in communication.

Just played the first 3 versions of my Wii U copy.

This game is awesome. Honest to goodness GOTY material so far.

Wrote an email to Humble Support asking to swap. Heard nothing in response. Was a little impatient but didn't want to be a pain or overly pushy, but after seven days I was wondering what took so long. Wrote again. Two days pass. Got a single human response, asking me for my transaction ID, which I don't have since I never got the original email and had to use my key resender to claim the key page. Said I couldn't send that back but I did have my key page link, which I sent.

Waited another day, didn't hear anything. At this point I started bumping the ticket every day. Now today we get the surprise early release, Yacht Club say in their email that it is now officially too late to swap platforms no matter what, and I still haven't gotten a useful human response. Plus I can't trade my key page (since I already claimed it) or my key (since they just give you a redeem button now, and there's no gift box link like there is in normal Humble purchases.)

PLUS I GOT HOME TOO LATE TO WATCH OCTODAD ON SUMMER GAMES DONE QUICK SO I AM CRABBY TODAY

I was able to get a Steam key from the humble bundle page. It didn't give it to me by default, I had to click on button to get the key.

So I made the mistake of assuming I could just pre-order it from the Humble Bundle page just now and get a key like everybody else did.

Nope.

Has anybody else had any luck with this, or are the keys only for people who donated when it was being Kickstarted?

Guy who I quoted, dkopman1. Once again I'm really hoping he just...I don't know. His internet connection died or something. Just seems strange he has the time to thank me for the 3DS code, and go ahead and redeem it/download it, yet can't take the second to go to his humble page and copy/paste the Wii U code to me in a pm.

Just beat him. First try, actually. The phase relic from
Spectre Knight
is pretty OP in boss fights. Buy enough magic upgrades to have 60 or 70 MP and you should have enough to last through most of the boss' attacks. First try, beat Baz with 5/8 HP left.

Loving this game way more than I anticipated. Yacht Club has done everything right.

Anybody know what happens if
I don't catch Shield Knight? Can I replay that cutscene after defeating King Knight again?

So excited to play this soon. I got my early backer copy today for PC, but I'm planning on getting the WiiU version soon to actually play. The PC version runs like turd on my laptop :(

Played a couple more levels. The best way to describe Shovel Knight to someone is Old School Castlevania + Mega Man with a Super Mario Brothers 3 map.

From the stream I am watching....Yep, best 8-bit game since MM9. The music and level design is jaw droppingly insane thus far.

Personally, having gotten the 3DS version, I wish I'd gone for the Wii U version just for the much better d-pad. The 3DS d-pad is pretty bad, and playing with the circle pad is kind fiddly.

Oh yeah? I have the "click here to redeem to Steam" text that it shows when you activate it right on your account -- maybe because I claimed my key page? Shrug.

Do you have a regular, 2DS or XL? And do you play Wii U with the gamepad or the pro controller? I find the XL's dpad to be superior to the Gamepad's, personally.

This is everything I love about Castlevania and NES Mega Man done miles better. Fantastic. The music is godlike and the animation on boss knights makes my jaw hit the floor.

Game is a tad easy, having played King, Spooky(?), and Plague, but that's only with health upgrades, mainly.

Ugh, using the 360 controller is so terrible for this game that I'm debating double dipping on WiiU. I mean, I guess I could just figure out a way to hook up my Pro Controller to my PC (or a PS3 controller, hmmm). That or just good ol' keyboard.

Regardless, jesus this game is FUN. Loving it.

This game has made me look at other recent side scrollers like Stick It To The Man and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and realize just how terrible they are in comparison. Being a 2D game doesn't necessarily mean it has to suck.

I can't catch Shield Knight for the life of me. First it was "QUICK CATCH NOPE TOO LATE", then "FIGHT THESE GUYS WHOOPS MISSED". I feel so bad for Shovel Knight! ;_;

this right here. I've been trying to find the words, but this describes the feel of this game already.

GOTY, calling it now. sorry every other game I am still looking forward to this year, you'll all just have to fight it out for 2nd place.
