Freedom Wars - Import |OT| War, what is it good for? A HOVERBOARD!!!!

whats nice is seeing how ranged vs melee isnt over powered either. ranged guys get messed up good if a melee character lands next to them. a lot of being a good melee user will most def depend on the ibara system

Being a melee user is like being someone from shingeki no kyojin haha, i'm having a blast with it so far jumping around from wall to wall and autolocking + ibara and triangle.

Fun fact - one of the support O items allows you to cut off Abductor parts and has an infinite number of uses.

I Think I read somewhere that they have changed so you don't have to spam the button any more, does these changes apply to both circle and triangle?

I've tried holding the button and mashing still seems to work much better.

It does make it faster, but at least the holding down the button is a nice option for those who dont want to ruin their circle buttons lol

man the shotgun like weapon is great. Ive powered mine up to lv 3. Must be a rare find since Ive only gotten one of them. Its the same firearm marie uses.

haha it sure is.

Nice job on the OT.

Patiently waiting now for the localization.

Thanks!

Edit: I don't know if I've already said it but your OT is really cool and well made, Parakeetman. And you're still adding new stuff, thanks!

this has to be the best one besides the miku

I'd say I like this one more.

Thanks man. Its a good thing that there is such an active little community here :D, since my work keeps me pretty occupied for most of the day. D:

I really wish that they would do away with the glossy faceplate for the PSV though. The best PSP to have ever come out for example was this

The matte finish it had on it was fantastic. Really wish they would make a vita like that.

Personally I liked the God Eater 2 Vita BUT the front faceplate is black and not the tan / olive drab color like the back. Though that was such a missed opportunity for an awesome Vita. D:

That heat blade? (forgot the name) item you are talking about sure is useful when Im using 2 ranged weapons lol.

Any sales reports/propaganda yet?

Positive buzz?

Im guessing next week for sales info.

But here at GAF seems to be quite positive overall! Im enjoying myself just collecting a ton of junk / weapons. Advancing the story a bit currently so I can further my collection lol

There is just something so satisfying about blowing parts off from the abductors. I can imagine though when its time to fight that crazy looking tiger or dragon enemies that its going to be a bad time :D

How's the mission? Are there many varities of them?

It's on the OP. Check "volunteer missions".

edit: is it possible to have a powerful beard (like Uwe's at least)? On the demo the best we got was something like Serge's, which is not powerful enough.

Yeah i dont like the two tone. Also im not a big fan of camo. If that had been all black or all white i would have liked it.

What's the name of the item?

ahh never mind, found it. It's the Flare Knife yeah?
Yeah, that's the one.

Uh, I thought that the capture the civilian chapter 2 mission was annoying, but the one in chapter 3 where you have to guide an abductor looks like hell from my first try. So many enemies with strong weapons.

So how is the enemy variety and enemy AI in this game? Does it feel grindy or are the mission types varied enough that it doesn't feel like a slog?

I'm progressing through the story and the game keeps throwing new mission types at me and each of them feels fresh (and super hard at first).

Yeah, that's the one.

This actually isn't that hard. Just grab the beacon, run to the end of the level and set it down, then just take down the dudes.

The Abductor can take a TON of damage.

That ending.

None of that silly waiting for the boss to land nonsense in this game it looks like.

good lord looks like that thing has a shield generator on it. D:

For the OT since it looks like they did indeed remove the demo, had removed the sections from the QA that says to try out the demo. :(

I know someone already asked question concerning number/variety of boss enemies, but what about the weapons? Are there lot of variety in design and sub category? is there a "fist/knuckle" type weapon that is similar to what NPCs are using?

Does not seem to be a fist/knuckle type at this time. Maybe in the future? Freedom Wars G lol.

Finding lots of different firearms. More than melee weapons anyways. For example have 3 different types of personal firearms. The Full Auto type, burst fire and one that acts almost like a shotgun. I see Accessories running around with what looks like a handgun so am sure those are in the game somewhere too.

The launchers have different types also.

I kinda wished that there was a bit more depth with the melee weapons though. Since it seems a small step backwards from the improvements they did in the God Eater series for example.

Thanks for the answer. LOL this is really weird and unusual for this type of game where NPC have unique weapons type that players can't use, still can't wait to play the full game when it release in the west though ;)

There are 2 separate characters that use the knuckles too Uwe and Elfriede. Was let down by this, unless its a hidden category though dont think they would hide a weapon category, as its what gets people to buy a game also knowing from the start what weapon types are available.

Is it just me or does it seem like the flare blade cuts faster?

The abductors are starting to get much harder in chapter 4.

I wonder what the base damage for it is? Since I would imagine that the weapons damage rating has to do with its cutting power? damage rating or more like stats related to the cutting ability.

Actually I think I saw a sub skill that effects the cutting power of a weapon that can perform the triangle action.

Im still trying to find a Katana to see how that great sword performs, as dont like the starting one.

Take one from the guys in the team deathmatch pvp mission in the 3rd code. From what I understand, you can have one additional weapon taken from an enemy npc when he dies and leaves it and you get it if you finish the mission with it.

yeah ill go and do that. since ive brought back other junk that way. im trying to see if there is a stage that will drop one too so i can focus on trashing a abductor at the same time

I'm not too sure on that either. Though compared to how slow my current short blade cuts it's definitely a needed item I assume.

I've tried the great swords but in general I don't really like how slow they attack though they are really strong. Upgraded my katana to level 4 so far and it's pretty good, but I prefer my short sword.

Am I the only person who finds the missions involving enemy npcs quite difficult because of how fast and small targets they are?
FW made me realize why all FPS/TPS games have the "shoot" button on a trigger - it's nearly impossible for me to aim and shoot at anything which isn't an abductor taking up half of the screen if the target is moving.
Only effective way I've found is using the FW version of the mh claw - putting the thumb on the right stick as usual and pressing the square button with my index finger.
I know I can change the control scheme, but aiming the Thron seems much more important in the general theme of things.
I hope Vita 3k has L2/R2 buttons. :p

Edit:
Okay, ignore everything above - I didn't know that you can use R to shoot while aiming a long range weapon.

That makes the "dash type" control scheme best fit for me...
And as for enemy npcs I strongly recommend to you to use your allies. Remember they are pretty much useless unless you fortify them, but once you do and give them proper orders they may actually work better than you do.

Also, it is worth noting that each npc has different personalities, like, Nina loves go after abductors and such.

Yeah the best way to go at the human enemies is just to use the aim mode from a distance, but once they start to close the gap might as well go melee. Since the stun effect you take when hit makes trying to use firearms up close kinda useless. Unless you go and shoot a rocket at your feet and try to kill them with the blast.

Minigun works wonders for swarms though, but when they get close the recovery time + spin up time makes you a huge target.

If you really wanna mess up human targets use バーバラ's・イージーギア works pretty great if all rounds hit the target and reload time isnt too long. Does a ton of damage up close. Its usually the weapon of choice for shooting off parts on an enemy that I hang onto.

I'm not too sure on that either. Though compared to how slow my current short blade cuts it's definitely a needed item I assume.

My factories can produce the katana, but at the moment have been focusing on trying to customize myself some firearms with better bonus stats on them.

I made a command for focused fire on parts for my accessory combined with my human teams concentrated attack command parts go FLYING EVERYWHERE on abductors lol. Usually with them doing all the damage to the parts all I need to do is keep clinging onto the abductor like a fly to shit and cut finish off the parts by sawing them off. lol

Argh. So, a HC Flare Knife (rarity 7) popped up as a reward in my code 4 unlock mission.
Thinking that it's a super powerful and super rare version of the normal one, I immediately took it getting +640 or so years added to my sentence in the process.
It turns out, that I was right about being super powerful, but wrong about the "same as the normal one" part. It's a one use item (使い捨て). Damn, I should've read the item description before committing a prohibited act. :|

lol thats not too bad though as you should be able to grind down 640 years in no time. Id imagine you would use an item like that on a more rare part that you really want on the later enemies. Since goddamn do some of the parts just not break no matter how much firepower you pour on it.

Hope we can craft them, currently on code 5 and have yet to encounter any super rare items.

Just recorded a bunch of footage, need to upload it in a bit.

Also updated the OT adding in Opti's solo song "Nananana"

At the moment my current go to melee weapon seems to be the spear, just because I can keep attaching myself with the thorn then doing triangle over and over. Once the enemy is knocked down is when I use the charge triangle lv 2 move (the combo attack). If I have more time and want to damage a specific part like the head I use the charge square lv 2 move (spear throw). Took off an abductors head that way nice and clean lol.

Same here, I moved to spear and now I'm gathering stuff so that I can upgrade it to the next tier.
I still prefer to cut the parts using the Flare Knife, mashing buttons adds a very fun element to the fight.

Ive been upgrading a chainsaw blade so will see how that works out for cutting parts off. Right now the first version of the flare knife doesnt seem to be cutting it on stronger abductors D:
