Lurking is frowned upon because who wants people looking in? Active participants are good to have because discussion is great. I'm the only one calling it the Moto 270. We need more brilliant people like me. And not sure what happened with the latest purge, though. I'll join whatever hangout you make.

You're doing exactly what you're condemning.

How much more often do you want people to participate between college, working and doing stuff on the side in the free time? Because some of us can get from 5-6 replies per day, we need to purge the chat and not reinvite people?

Come the fuck on. Send another to some people (I assume others didn't since I never got another invite even after posting here) and don't create the necessity for me to create another.

Not sure why you guys care as long as we peek in once in a while. Clearly quite a few people are tired of it. Stop purging because a few of us can only get a few messages in per day and stop trying to make it some idiotic, sophomoric club.

How do you join this elusive hangouts chat?

You email someone your email and then post every waking moment, apparently. Otherwise everyone leaves. Over and over.

Then you watch as people dance around it in here and try to justify how absurd it is while disregarding plenty if posts pointing out how idiotic it is.

LOL I think I'll give it a miss then...

Eh, I think this whole hangout thing could have been handled better. A lot better. Personally if people want to lurk that's OK by me, however since the hangout started there have been regular purges of those who don't contribute much. That's been pretty much the unwritten rule since the beginning. I think where this has went wrong is because it was made personal and it should have been kept professional. There are understandable reasons why you might not be able to contribute and I think in fairness, perhaps there should have been a discussion with you prior making it clear that if you were unable to contribute you'd be asked to leave until such time as you felt you would.

Sorry for the mess :-(

Sounds like a very laid back, open and friendly group.

Lol, I honestly can't tell if you're being sarcastic. (My sarcasm meter is broken)

99% of the time it is. From time to time we start a new hangout if we find ourselves in a situation where people aren't contributing much, it's just to make sure that the place is lively. What we should probably do is just give those not contributing a gentle nudge to remind them and that would avoid any internet drama.

I have a question guys.

I have connected my LG G3 to my desktop computer, but where do I store my music on my SD card?
Do I create a Music sub folder in the SD folder?

Does LG have any syncing software? My HTC comes with HTC Sync where it automatically syncs with my itunes playlist (bloody useful for ios+android users)

If not, just put it anywhere you want and most music players should detect the files automatically.

I just made a Music folder and put it all in there. Same with Videos and Pictures. Shows up fine on both the stock music app and Google Play Music.

I've been very happy with the LocalCast app. I can push any media file to my N7 and cast it on my TV. Even the movies from ShowBox work well. Thank you Groof!

I joined the hangout and quit the next day because there was absolutely no android talk lol. Live free, brothers, and discuss in this forum, not hangouts.

Also Moto 270 is dumb.

gah I need help setting up whatsapp on a tablet. whatsapp wont send a verification code and when I select the call me with the code it won't do that either. :( I looked it up and no one seems to be having this issue with getting whatsapp on a tablet. anyone mind helping me?

Google Music, why?

Because THE CLOUD.

But really, it's nice to have your music backed up and readily available on any Android or web browser.......... But........... nothing beats local music on a phone. So I just have a /sdcard/MUSIC/ folder where I put all of my music. Works fine with Shuttle+.

Google Music, why?

Google lets you upload 20,000 of your own songs to the cloud which can be played anywhere through the google play music app. The beauty is it will do a scan and match, so if the album already exists on google's music cloud, it won't actually upload your file but instead just associate it to your library. They are automatically upscaled to 320bitrate if your file is lower as well.

The only limit is the filesize of each mp3 file, they have to be under 300Mb each. That's a shitload of free storage for your music.

Looks damn good, and especially like the bigger front speakers. Seriously, if this can be competitively priced, I'd sell my GS4 for one :).

The default folder where the media scanner will consider everything it finds music is Music, yeah. So unless LG has messed with that it should work. But yeah, upload that shit to Play Music! My days of transferring music over USB every time I get a new phone or reset/flash my current one are over. It's just synced now, like almost everything else.

Because THE CLOUD.

Play Music gives you both. You can make anything you have uploaded available locally.

But I want my music locally for when I don't have connection or is traveling. I already have my music backed up to my NAS and think that one can stream anywhere with my own cloud.

Of course I can see the nice thing about the quality of Play Music as well. Might consider it.

You can select music in Play Music and download it directly to your device for exactly that situation.

Same version, might be cause I just picked up the phone from doing nothing all day.

bummer. I wish there was a way to disable it. My phone has plenty of memory available but it won't even keep two gaf threads open at the same time.

You can pin playlists, or even specific songs, to you device so they are on internal storage.

I pin the auto-generated "Thumbs Up" playlist and that pretty much covers any songs that I will want to listen to. I also pin my "Good Music" playlist, but all songs in there are probably thumbs up songs as well too so it doesn't really matter.

Which would make sense had I not been booted a day after the first purge after I did start chiming in more often.

Bezels are too small and I bet it's SoC is more than 3 weeks old. Also, where the hell is my battery-draining indiscernible qHD screen? Are you even trying Moto?

Play Music gives you both. You can make anything you have uploaded available locally.

But then I have to worry and wait for pinning... It's easier for all my music to just be there when I need it without worrying about pinning or using data. Unless there's a 1 time pin-all button?

What? You only pin once and it's there. Or do you flash ROMs a lot?

Well I don't listen to the same songs every day....
I tried it and I was pinning new stuff constantly.

Edit: I actually listen to my whole music collection (a whopping 1000 songs), so eventually I'd end up pinning everything....... might as well just have a local library.

I bet they add a bunch of useless features to their assist or active notification screen too.

hmmph

This is local though when pinned. I mean you have to sync it somehow to your phone either way. This just also happens to store it in the cloud. Plus you have your library available for multiple devices ie laptop/tablet/phone with no fuss.
