Nintendo Direct NA on 9/4 at 3 PM PT for Bayonetta 2 for WiiU

That would really suck.

The special edition is one thing. I can live without it. But if Bayo 1 is in a cheap slip cover, than NoA is beyond cheaper than I thought.

Each disc will probably get their own holder in the case, like this:

Huh? The book version is labeled "First Print Run Edition" so I figured it was just what it says, the first print-run of the game being in that form. Similar to how a lot of first-print runs here are in Steelbook cases.
Nah its not. I made that same mistake too. Look here

There's three versions. The normal game which is the equivalent of $60 and has just the game. That's on the left. The one on the right is the Limited edition and comes with both Bayo 1 and 2 and the Book and it's the equivalent of $100.
Then you get this, which is what the US is getting as standard I presume. Bayo 1 and 2 in a cardboard box. Equivalent of $75.

First hyrule warriors, now bayonetta... sigh NOA. You have huge fans here, too, you know? :( :(

Like, whoever is in charge of saying 'no' to collector's editions and stuff, I want your job.

Man, I really hope this game has a gallery mode like in TW101. The artists did such an amazing job with the models in this game, I'd like to be able to freely admire such amazing art-work... without giant blades swinging at my head. :D

I know, right? I think some changes need to be made around NoA, and frankly, Georly, I'd trust you more than whoever's in charge right now.
Solely because that means we get more stuff.

So... I just buy Bayonetta 2 on the eShop and they give me a 1 cent discount and Bayonetta 1 automatically?

Is it 17.5 GB for both games? Or only for Bayonetta 2? I only have 19GB on my memory and I got to get a hard drive anyway.

If I had to guess, the games will either be $39.99 or $49.99 separately, and then once you buy one the other one gets the discount applied appropriately. So you'd pay $9.99 or $19.99 depending on what the first game was bought at.

From the sound of it, Bayonetta 1 is 17+GB, 2 is 14+GB, total of 32GB.

I think these JP and US covers are wrong.

Because it doesn't make any sense the yellow "2" in the discs being red on the covers.
(and the moon are diferent too)

Yeah Kamiya hates them. The EU is getting the proper cover, like you said with the proper framing, yellow 2 and proper crescent. It goes well with the JP Bayo 1 cover which the EU are also getting but both of them have a massive rating logo in the bottom left!

The red 2 is for the Bayonetta 1 red logo i guess, so the yellow number on the disc is not that weird, but still the NA box is easily the worst, i wish it had the package of the Japanese version

JP? Don't you mean EU? The Japanese cover is identical to the US cover above is it not?

The american cover also doesn't have the "Nintendo Network" logo.
It's not final at all!

I mean att least it has the nice box, instead of that ugly sticker

The one thing that disappointed me about the Direct was that they have yet to play the game's main theme. I can deal with listening to Tomorrow Is Mine over and over again though.

So Europe isn't getting Bayo 1 for free by buying regular Bayo 2?

Nope. There's three versions. The normal game which is the equivalent of $60 and has just the game. That's on the left. The one on the right is the Limited edition and comes with both Bayo 1 and 2 and the Book and it's the equivalent of $100.

As for Australia. On the AU website it just says:

Packaged version includes the original Bayonetta!

With no mentioning of a special edition. Maybe AU is getting the same treatment as US.

Is this game rated M? I'm just so scared that it will be heavily watered down to better fit in with Nintendo.

Edit: I see that the Bayo 2 alone is rated Pegi 16 and the pack with Bayo 1 is Pegi 18, that does not reassure me one bit.

Definitely M, and based on the semi-nudity in one of those videos, definitely not watered down either

Nope, Bayonetta 2 is rated E10+ in order to appeal to Billy and Susie.

Nintendo fully funded a sequel no other publisher wanted anything to do with so they could make her a family-friendly mascot for everyone to enjoy.

It's M and nothing we've seen so far implies that it's been watered down at all.

Yes it is
and nintendo actually suggested for the peach costume to be more revealing when it was first pitched so you do not really have to worry about censorship

Nintendo isn't censoring the game at all.

Nope, I'm pretty sure you pay at dispatch! :)

Yeah, I just read it before I confirmed it. I am hoping that they don't go and be like "That Limited Edition? NOPE! This one is the one we actually mean." while i'm at work today and i come home and realise all are gone haha.

Either way, thx for showing it. :D

Ha don't worry about it, it's the correct one I'm 100% sure. They have all three versions up on the sore. The Standalone game for £32.99, The special Edition that just comes with the two games for £44.99 and the Limited Edition in the OP for £59.99.

I'm nitpicking, but I think I read it was actually the Link costume -- Nintendo suggested they get rid of an undershirt they had, since it didn't fit with Bayonetta's character.

You are correct, it was the Link costume. The side-effect of removing the undershirt was revealing more cleavage, which Nintendo seems more than fine with

You mean like One Of A Kind was for Bayo 1?

Because that second track they play during the new trailer is pretty much that.

Yep, that's how I remember the story being told. Cant imagine how the Princess costume could get any more revealing....well I can but it's great where it is now.

Damn, that Direct was fricking amazing. Been hours since it passed and still cant stop thinking about it. Can't wait for Platinum to put up a 60fps trailer (hopefully).

It's not like there's multiple images of the boxart on the page you posted this on or anything.

While I'm relieved at the M rating however I still notice that Bayo 2 is Pegi 16 and Bayo 1 Pegi 18 so it's definitely toned down at least a little.

Nah the analog to Fly Me To The Moon, I already know what song it is
Moon River
. A German youtube channel made a preview for the game and used it for like the first 12 seconds.

Eh,one only has to look at the Direct to find out, or even last year E3 trailer

No. There is probably just one scene which makes it a Pegi 18. Watch the trailers and footage, there is nothing toned down.
Btw Pegi 16 is equal to Mature in america.

The extent of PEGI's Bayonetta 1 rating:

BAYONETTA [www.sega.co.uk.]
SEGA Europe Ltd
The content of this game is suitable for persons aged 18 years and over only.
It contains: Extreme violence - Strong language
This game allows the player to interact with other players ONLINE

Ignoring that the online thing isn't actually true, games are not rated by "This game has X, so the sequel having X must involve the same ratings." Could be different people, different standards since 2009, etc.

The probable culprit? Bayonetta 1 used the word "Fuck," Bayonetta 2 might not.

Yep, Nintendo had Platinum tone down Bayonetta 2 so it would get a PEGI 16 and then put the PEGI 18 original in anyway.

And we'll just ignore that both games got the same MA15+ rating in Australia.
