They call you, so at least it is free. I'm still on the fence if I should talk to them via phone. Might sound stupid, but I haven't talked in years to anyone in English and even the thought of calling them makes me really nervous.

I spoke via live chat, and the representative was kind enough to offer me the upgrade. Like I said before though, it was apparently an exception, and I don't want to try and land the rep in trouble. He was genuinely understanding with me. I guess your mileage may vary on this.

The problem is I think their customer services are largely outsourced and some people have more powers available to them. It is really luck of the draw who you will get.

If I try this route I would be sure to mention that it was the only SKU Amazon listed when you pre-ordered and it has the description of the special edition and the pre-order price guarantee should applied (the whole thing reeks of a bait and swap). Not sure what would have the most success. e-mail, live chat or phone.

I guess they are all as equally luck of the draw.

It is difficult as part of me wants to do nothing and play about hell about how they've not given me what I described once 2 lands through the door.

I got mine sorted. They told me to order the special edition, email them and they'd adjust the price. They have done that now. I ordered originally back in June.

Did it through e-mail support.

Tried it. But will only ship within it´s country. Says it doesn´t ship "electronics" internationally. (the country south of it that speaks the same language.)

It´s just the bayonetta first print edition.

Tried it with ground zeroes and it would let me order it and also the same with bayonetta 1+2 special edition.

For some reason the first print edition is some electric machine :(

Anyway, tweeted them.

It worked! I talked to amazonUK via chat, was very very polite and said I was confused by this whole situation and made very clear that I ordered this under the expectation to receive both and was reassured that I would get this. I also brought up the preorder price guarantee. They asked me to cancel and order the Special edition then amended the price as you see in the image.

Very happy I stuck with the order and didn't jump ship to ShopTo immediately.

I'm feeling pretty confident that my Friday night amazon.fr order will come through. But let's face it: the package/ art booklet of the First Edition itself isn't that amazing. It was just the prospect of owning a very limited edition Bayo 1&2 what got me. So I won't be that mad should amazon have to cancel.

Me too, no luck. Well it seems i'll pay about 10 more than i should in 44 days, no biggie.
What's important is that they don't screw the overnight delivery, which i'm sure they won't, they haven't for every order i got with priority shipping so far.

Amazon: I can assure you that none can price match in this matter and the most important reason for that is that we do not want to treat our customer differently.

Me: In that case some guys didn't get the memo

Amazon: If you can prove someone got this upgraded for same price, I will be able to find out who did this and will escalate the matter and will take appropriate action but we can not offer the price match.

Me: I don't want that someone gets punished, all I want is to be treated the same.

I advised them "Yes I think I will cancel my order and then get the correct item from elsewhere"

They are not 'bad' CS reps, they are just too typical.
Let's face it, Amazon fucked up regarding this one, but it seems that upgrading earlier preorders is an exception made by overly eager to help reps, it's not the norm. It's natural if some reps don't want to take their chances.
Always remember that CS reps are not responsible for Amazon's fuckup.

Also i'm not trying again. I know it's not the right thing to do as a consumer, but i feel that the braincells i wasted today talking to the rep are worth more than the additional 10GBP i'll spend on Bayo 2 (and the postage for priority mail about half the price of the game), so i don't care.

BAYONETTA 2 - SPECIAL EDITION for £46.95 at TGC. Seems like ShopTo still has the best price, damn it. I'm still holding off until next month, maybe the price will go down.

Screw it, Amazon e-mail sent. Not going to waste my time with live chat (The Sky taught me that was futile; they didn't know it was limited to 1000 nor seemed to care). I also have some suspicion that live chat by text and phone is handled by a different outsourced branch to e-mail contact.

My strategy is basically what I suggested before, if I succeed, great. If not I will receive and return incorrect order just to prove a point.

They must be yodel to deliver these e-mails or something as I heard that line a few days ago. No e-mail.

Anyway first print, do you think it is a y copies for every x of the game you had ordered before a cut-off (if we assume y:x is 1:10 that is 150k shipped...which seems a bit high maybe 1:7 is more realistic).

£40 tends to be the best launch day price for a 60 Euro NOE game. Maybe the bigger box is adding shipping and other internal costs which is why few retailers seem to be hitting it.

Although, now that I think about it, if you live in NZ you can use this to buy stuff from stores that won't send to NZ. There's gotta be a similar service for Australians.

They generally are. I had 5 orders from them and only 1 which I didn't receive on release day.

You can find a 5€ coupon on the net for buecher.de, you might want to apply that to your order.

Pre-ordered the First Print Edition at Nedgame. Yeah, it was a little more expensive then I would've hoped but loved the first game and I want to send Nintendo a signal that they need more of these tyoe of games.

Now I only need a WiiU but that'll come these holidays :p

Seriously, those things just upset me. I preordered the CE here in Switzerland, but the retailer cannot guarantee that I will get a copy. On the other hand I preordered the CE on amazon.fr (just in case, I'm too late to preorder here in Switzerland), but to import one copy I would also have to pay extra taxes (~15€) and wait an additional ~1-2 weeks for the game to arrive, which is not really satisfying.

I don't really want to cancel one of those orders, but keeping both up is also not satisfying. I just don't get how such situations still can happen. Why didn't they properly split the available copies amongst countries & retailers in the beginning and communicate the resulting available copies to each retailer.

I just got an email from buecher.de stating that they didn't expect that many preorders and will first clarify how many they'll actually get and then cancel the later orders. (

Since I havent't identified for the 18+ shipping yet, they'll probably cancel mine too. 63€ was a nice price, but I think I'd rather rely on Amazon.de, getting it day one and all, even if it's 15€ more.

EDIT: Hell I just realized I got 5 pre-orders up for the First Print Edition now (including: gamesware.at, game.co.uk., amazon.fr) I'm probably gonna cancel some of them later.

They should try to ensure that everyone who ordered gets one copy and cancel the rest.

For those wanting to preorder to Game Mania, try calling your local store. Apparently they're getting two copies of the First Print edition per store, and there might just be one copy left at your local one. They probably closed online preorders to prevent them from having to cancel a bunch of preorders later.

They said, that they will fullfil them in order. They will skip over people, who haven't done the identification UNTIL then. Which means you still have time to do it. And it seems it's free.

I know, I'm really just thinking about whether it's worth all that hassle, because I'm not wholly convinced by this retailer so far..

Did amazon ever accept too many preorders? Or are confirmed preorders safe?
