Glitch in Destiny reveals DLC details and content is partially on Disc

People aren't annoyed that there are a few 1s and 0s on a disc rather than downloading it later, it's what it means for a game that they feel is light on content.

Yeah but the problem is you as the end user have no idea when the content was created. They could have left it off the disc and you would have no idea when the content was created, but because they put it on the disc you feel somehow entitled to it.

It's silly and I'd much rather not have to download it as well as buy it.

There is no question though, the game is light on content.

In Destiny I know what I am doing. I do daily mission, weekly strike for mark to trade for legendary weapon. I do nightfall and raid to get legendary or exotic gears. They reward handsomely for my difficult task.

In Diablo, I do not know what I am doing. I have to farm mindlessly until RNGsus give me something and 99 % of loots are useless.

Holy crap that's a huge chest. Is that from the Great Rifts? So...beautiful.

It's called The Vault on PC with patch 2.1 there is chance when you kill a goblin you go there and get millions of gold at the end there is baroness of greed. She drops that chest with a butt load of legendary's and gold.

Fun fact-We've been able to glitch into Kings Watch/Seraphims Vault since the Alpha. And according to Bungie, the Alpha was an extremely old build. The very same Alpha they had in E3, which was what, 6 months ago? 7 months ago? Meaning the alpha builds even older.

Holy crap. I've played 2.1 but never experience that( I have experience a rift map filled with goblins.)

Guess you never played Reaper of Souls hm?

Legendary are legendary's not green,not blue. Legendary's.

I have shit load of useless legendary in Diablo 3. I played on Tormant IV before I quitted the game.

What the point of legendaries if they cannot upgrade your character ?

Woah, woah, let's not jump to conclusions here. Destiny's non-existent story is still better than that almost offensive excuse of a story Diablo III has.

IDK man i might side with this guy/gal. And i didn't enjoy Diablo III's story too much. One must admit it make MUCH more sense and is better told to the player via the cut scenes and pick-up audio logs. Bungie can't even do audio logs... we have to get on a PC to read cards lol.

(I enjoy both games with that said)

You will also get the legendary gem Boon of the Hoarder. Equip it and it will rain gold from enemy's i got 15 million gold in less then a hour of playing. You only can get a portal to the vault in adventure mode not in a rift.

So? Make a forgotten soul out of it and do rifts and greaters rifts spend bloodshards? Use those forgotten souls to reroll stats on your gear towards you spec etc. That's the whole point of playing this game isn't it? I am not bored with it playing T6 with my monk since i have the whole sunwuko set with flying dragon and Rorg. Also playing my other classes to be diverse.

What's the point of any loot in any loot game if you already have the best gear?

Mhm, your statement reminds me of a good point. Diablo 3 gives you some control over what you can do with your items. Whether rerolling stats, dismantling them and being able to make other items, gambling with bloodshards...there is a semblance of control over loot.

Hey, Bungie Community.

I hope you had a nice weekend.

We noticed that you noticed that we already have plans for upcoming content packs in Destiny.

We do! They have activity names (which may or may not change) and we have a really good idea what they're going to contain. They even have placeholder nodes in the Director, as you've already discovered.

But neither of the Expansion Packs we've announced are finished.

People at Bungie are hard at work to complete content for our first post launch pack, "The Dark Below," as I type these words. It will be finished soon. It releases in December. Soon, we'll detail it out for you so you can see exactly what we've been working on.

Thanks for playing. Thanks for the passion. We know you want details. We'll talk more soon.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-osssAKgEc

As a note, all of these activities have been leaked already through destinytracker.com 's database, it's just now that we know it is partially on disc. What's even worse is that you are able to glitch yourself into some of these places on Earth and see enemies in them.

The first DLC will include 4-5 missions, 2 strikes(one on earth, one on Mars), 1 raid(on Moon) and 3 crucible maps.

Second DLC there is less details but I assume again 4-5 missions, 2 strikes, and 1 raid(which takes place in the reef)

If you want to see two of the locations of the DLC here is the Seraphim Vault https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmfY9Y7OYco and King's Watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaAOZKTMElc

I watched that video. "If you guys want to see how to get into this place, let me know by liking my video. But if you're not interested in seeing how to get in here, I don't want to waste the time explaining it".

What a douche, lol. He's already sitting there voicing all this content inside the vault. Just wants to make sure he gets another video with more view$$.

Not really related to this thread, but man I hate people like this.

You can even do transmogrification on your gear..everything remains the same just the look is different and nobody will look the same.

That's why customization like this hell even in Borderlands 2 you can do this is important.

i got a sword on my wizard while levelling up that made it if I cast a lightning spell, i had a chance to cause the target to become a lightning rod and shoot lightning all over other people

I then promptly switched everything to lightning which changed my playstyle drastically. You dont get changes like that in Destiny. That was my biggest disappointment. Even in BL(a game I immensely dislike) getting a new gun could change the way you played.

The other way is technically - you've paid for the content of the disk and you should therefore have absolute access to what's on the disk, in the same way you should be allowed to rip a CD to your hard drive because you should have full access to that CD. And you do have full access to the disk. You have full access to the compiled code that sits in 1's and 0's on the disk, and you can do anything you want with it. Except you can't, because you don't know how. You don't know how to use that data outside of a PS4, and even if you did, you wouldn't know how to unlock the hidden stuff. Maybe it's not even possible - but you didn't buy the source code, you bought the compiled code, that's what's on the disk and that's what you have to play with. In that sense, what you have is akin to buying a CD but not having any CD ripping software. Well, that ain't Universal Records fault.

So basically if you have the tools to "use" everything a product can provide, then it's okay to use them to get the most from it. If there was a job opening for spokesperson for people who use Custom firmware on consoles, I'll nominate you. say things like, I'm just playing my ripped copy of GTAV online, Sony, why you mad bruh?

Oooh, I had this weapon. With the talent/perk that makes all your lightning have a chance to stun....it's completely beautiful. Suddenly I was launching Lightning Orbs that were shocking everything in its path, and everything it shocked became a rod, and everything that touched was a rod...it was fun. I should go back to it..

I'm sure that there some of that disgust that the dlc is just an unlock code but I think the bigger issue to most people is that dlc on the disk feels like cutting out content to sell later. It's just easier to come to that conclusion if the data is already on the disk, whether or not the conclusion is true. If it wasn't on the disk, but it came out somehow that Bungie had the dlc ready to go from before launch but were waiting to sell it later, I would wager people would be just as annoyed.

I've known that the first expansion was in December. So what does the rest mean?

I have a hard time getting excited about anything he says after the whole you'll never finish Destiny until you've beaten every single person in PvP remark.

Mhm, at the end of the day Deej is just there to PR. If that means not explaining anything or trying to make a scapegoat...deej is your man.

The problem is that as someone who bought the game you really don't have any idea when the DLC is completed, it could be done months before the game was released and if they left it off the disc and sold it 2-3 weeks after release as something you downloaded would you feel better about it? Sorry but I'd rather not have to download it if I was interested in it.

Destiny is a bad example because so much of the game comes off as half baked so any DLC (now on disk or weeks from now via DL) feels like robbery because to many people the game feels unfinished.

I wonder what DLC or event will give us access to Bunker RAS-2 / Seraphim Vault. We are talking about finished part of the Old Russia that is gated away just like King's Watch.

Just because it's gated away doesn't necessarily mean it's finished. there's a hell of alot more to designing a strike / raid than building out the world geometry.

That's probably the most upsetting thing to me. I was one of those defenders, believing that we would revisit those areas in Old Russia once we were leveled up and prepared for the Legendary battles. I bought the hype that the Beta was just that, a Beta and those areas were only locked off for the test run. I'm still having fun with the game, but I think they were very misleading around the time of the Beta, and I bought into the idea that they wanted things to be a surprise.

Well, the lack of content after buying the game was a surprise.

gonna quote this every time someone talks about how great the reward system is lmao

How anyone could actually type that bs out and believe it is stunning

well this isn't really a good example at all. I've never been in a game where almost everyone got rare gear from one pvp match ... except the leader in this case.
This is a bad example because the loot is random, so what's the problem in the picture?
It's random and fair, if you don't want it to be random, just buy your gear.

The real problem is that there is barely any good gear that is dropped, if at all... I'm just about to level 2 in crucible and have never gotten one good item in the crucible, ever. And I'm not going to grind to level 3 in the crucible to buy the gear, I'll have sold the game before that.
Anyone tell me how many matches to reach level 3 crucible? (the answer is already more than i'm willing to do as I'm about done and not even level 2 yet).

Seraphim Vault is different place than Jovian Complex. Both are located in Old Russia even if at different places in it. Jovian Complex, according OT video, is one that is going to be strike.

Bunker RAS-2 / Seraphim Vault is located underneath Forgotten Shore.

If interested here is few pics from Seraphim when I visited it today, click.

You don't know that for sure.

So they released a trailer for confirmed DLC locations before they had even started it? Alright.

No, you said this DLC was already finished a year and a half ago. You don't know that for sure.

I don't know how to respond to this. Literally everything is defending Bungie.

How is me asking how you know the DLC is finished defending Bungie?

Because we have footage that shows confirmed DLC locations from more than a year ago. Which means they started developing DLC content 2 years ago. And you are playing devils advocate for a developer that doesn't deserve it at this point.

Every reward on that page is a blue upgrade, which are going to immediately be converted into weapon parts and plasteel, probably on the next loading screen.

The real rewards from a match are Crucible marks/Crucible reputation. The winning team gets 3/25 and the losing team gets 2/10. Also, doing well in the game pays off in crucible bounty completions, which gives more XP (motes of light) and more rep. Crucible marks and reputation let you buy legendary weapons and armor from the vendors.

The "rewards" at the end of a match are 100% random, just an extra perk for playing. They're not an example of rewarding bad play.

The real crime is that most of these areas seem to be in the game already, as early as beta (and perhaps even alpha). Completely unacceptable. If I wasn't already roped in because of the special edition, I wouldn't be purchasing this content.

More missions in the same areas is lame. Doubly so more Old Russia. That area has been done to death.

I would have hoped Destiny would have taken a more MMO style expansion approach.

Post release free mission updates for existing areas
DLC = New landmass and new missions.
Followed with Free updates for new missions on said new landmass
New DLC = another new landmass and so on.....

Destiny needs a massive coarse change ASAP. But its a game of missed opportunities and lazy design. DLC being more of the same makes sense with that I guess.

Wow, I'm still baffled that areas that where in the Beta/Alpha are not part of the final game. That parts of the UI already exist in the game doesn't surprise me. But entire pieces of the DLC.... Ahh wait a moment, you meant DLC as in Disc Locked Content instead of Down Loadable Content.

Rewatching the vidocs makes Destiny look like completely different game than what we got. Also what happened to Saturn? It was mentioned as playable in one of those vidocs.

Edit:
Has this been posted yet? Detective Reddit and B.net at work.

You cannot be serious. Attempting to rationalize "your reward is playing the game" and dismissing the actual rewards despite the fact the engrams can be decoded into something useful, and how half that loot wouldn't even exist had he not carried them to victory, but the main contributor should suck it up because he's getting what any AFKer will get anyway.
