Assassins Creed Unity Leaked PS4 version shots (Confirmed 900p / 30fps)

Crossing Eden

Hello, my name is Yves Guillemot, Vivendi S.A.'s Employee of the Month!
No, you need to get your eyes checked if you think that. Did you play the ps3 version of Black Flag or something because the PS4 version looked fantastic. This game looks like vaseline smeared shit.
I played AC4 on 360 and PS4. It does not look better than these compressed screenshots.

No I platinumed the PS4 version. It looked like the last gen version with better IQ.
Yeah but as has already been conclusively established through the power of Not Hyperbole At All, this game LITERALLY looks like a PS1 game (worse, even). So a PS3 game with better IQ is still two generations better.

I really want to see the game in motion and some screens from a different source. As of right now, I am not impressed by how poor the characters look.

I really hope the PC version doesn't look this bad? Then again it might be another 5-10 years before more then 5 people can run that version. Damn shame because I would easily pick up a copy of the PC version if the specs were not so over the top.

Exactly

I thought they looked great! But then I started reading some posts saying it looks like a PS3 game. What the hell?!

It honestly almost looks like Infamous SS at this point, and with all those NPCs and the larger scale, it's more impressive to me.

Based on what we've seen, the visuals in this game do not even come close to approaching Infamous: Second Son unless you're talking only NPC/crowd size.

I'm honestly more worried about the optimization for the PC version. The last few releases haven't been all that stellar performance wise at launch. A lot was ironed out with patches but nailing it right out of the gate would be a huge, huge plus for Unity on PC.

Suffice to say, I look forward to the GAF PC benchmarks thread for this game. The Nvidia optimization trailer made the PC version looks pretty great visually.

Man, this looks like shit. How can they excuse it? Kind of looks like how I would imagine the IOS version. I'm sure it will be much better in motion though.

Wow. I just can't...so much hyperbole, first it looks like a ps2 game, then it looks like a 360 launch title, and now an IOS game. I would love to see the ps2, the 360, and especially the phone that could run games that look like this. I'm out.

Not gonna jump the ship and say the game looks like total shat (need better pics - sources) which it does BUT, Amazon is showing this game is going to sell most on PS4 and looking at those Ubi financials, that company depends heavily on the PlayStation platform. Not sure what they were thinking with all that parity talk.

Well, there are a LOT more PS4's in the wild so doesn't that make sense?

It'll sell well. It'll almost certainly will have a frame rate consistently above XBone's sub-25fps. So, in that way, the supposed parity doesn't even exist in reality. Most likely. it'll just be another game that performs poorly on consoles like Evil Within.

Which is all the reason you need not to purchase it. The Evil Within runs horribly on either of the consoles, even most PC's from my understanding.

...srsly? Infamous blows this out of the water. Seattle looked amazing.

Eh, the draw distance in infamous second son wasn't really anything to write home about. Building's far off in the distance were either obfuscated by fog or lod'd into flat textures.

Evil Within doesn't really run horribly on most PC's. An i5 2500k paired with a 750 ti can run it at 1080P at a consistent 30FPS.
I can play it at 60 FPS with my 2500k i bought 3 years ago and my 970 at a stable 60 FPS at 2560x1440 downscaled to 1920 x 1080 though I prefer to go 4k at stable 30 FPS which I can also do.

(his foot clips through the railing) Sorry, couldn't resist.

Yeah, I didn't know as I don't generally follow PC stuff. Consoles, however, run it like garbage. Looks like it'll be the same for this one. Doesn't it have a lot heftier minimum requirements though?

Jesus Christ, the hate is too much. Everything Black Flag did right has been completely forgotten by some Gaffers here. I'm so sad. :(

Black Flag did one thing right: an emphasis on using a ship. And there is no sailing in Unity, so that was out the window as of the announcement trailer.

As if you didn't do enough damage control already. Bye Yves :)

i5 2500k and 750 ti are well below the minimum reqs for Evil Within.

Here's the secret about minimum reqs. They are liability disclaimers and that's about all they are good for. It means these are what we tested and know to work. For all the devs know, it can bork a machine that does not match those specs. It probably won't, but some countries are sue happy so...

You can have good image quality at 900p. 900p with really good AA is much better than 1080p with crap AA.

CPUs are what are keeping it at 30fps, most likely.

Lol at people even putting this in the same sentence as Second Son. Really? The only thing this game will beat that one in is possibly gameplay, and that is not looking like a very safe bet either. Second Son was bad but graphically it puts this to shame. Not. Even. Close.

Anybody who thinks they are going to patch "photo mode" into this one because it is such a looker is delusional. Nobody is going to be taking pics of this beast and wowing people without Photoshop.

That looks really different from what we see in the screenshots.

Yeah, people don't seem to understand that these screens are from the most recent build and keep posting stuff from E3 and media releases -- which are in no way indicative of the final quality, particularly because it's Ubisoft and this is what they do.

Wouldn't normally bother me, but it's a cutscene, how do you mess that up?

edit: did someone update that gif or something?

Having gone through several pages of this thread just now, I have to agree that the game looks pretty bad. I'm not going to hyperbole it and say 360 quality but it doesn't look good either. Everything looks foggy, poor textures and poor anti-aliasing. Such a shame because the original reveal looked quite pretty and the PC version seemed to retain most of the originally promises visuals despite the high spec requirements.

Do you even understand how badly that would have hurt if he fell? What are they supposed to do, let his foot catch the railing and have him fall on his face. Obviously the clipping was intentionally left to avoid an embarrassing stumble.

The Gif reminds me of Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler. Only way uglier. Adieu!

I don't think you have played the game...Sure there was LoD like in any game, but draw distance was consistently impressive, and fog was there based on ToD. It looked good in the early morning vistas.
