fraps and other fps tracking devices dont work, i have to use shadowplay fps overlay. the UI is one of the worst ive ever seen. game feels like a larger bf4 exp pack with even less polish than bf4.

How's the framerate for the 32 player game modes?
Jackfrags and credible don't belong in the same sentence. He got that dirty EA money on his hands.
Heist is still two minutes flat on a good team. It's trying to be Rush + CTF but isn't as good as exclusive-either of them. Terrible.
One good thing I'll say is that Commande--er--"Hacker" can at least be negated if you notice the Commander fucking about with something with those "hack Camera" effects they added. Shoot the camera, you kill their connection. Better than "wait for the UAV to end" a la BF4.
You can only "hack" 5 support areas though. I dunno how that works in regards to an enemy Commander but there you go. Hack two cameras depending on area and maybe a gas area. I dunno about the Transformers. Seems pointless.
Edit: Yeah, I really like this twist on Commander outside of feeling "useless" when you're waiting for "backdoor" support hacks and UAVs to cooldown. If the backdoor is shot, you can't retake that support area for a little bit. So you basically have to pray they don't shoot it.
At the same time I REALLY FUCKING HATE I can't command my team with Orders on the objectives this outing. I can command them to "attack/engage" enemy squad leaders or "defend" objective points, but not the fucking actual objective (cash in Heist) WTF?
Edit2: Yeah, "Hotwire" = Mobile Conquest like I thought. Just with the caveat of "DRIVE FAST TO CAPTURE POINTS." Also something... to do with ticket bleed. IDK, ticketbleed seems even slower than Conquest here. *shrug*

I remember Rush running a lot better than Conquest on PS4.
Battlefield 4 ran at 720p, why would you think this version ran at a higher res?

I've had Origin for a while now but this was the first thing I bothered to play on it. It's handled really sloppy. Origin is overly slow for one thing, but the execution in launching this game was just so clumsy. Attempting to play a match opens up a tab in your browser, you then need to install the plugin. After I did that, the game started but didn't open up on it's own. When I opened it manually, the fucking thing was in Windowed mode and running @ 33fps. Finally when I changed it to fullscreen, it was running at around 75-80fps and I was good to go.
But still, not a great first impression. What a hassle.
Anyway, regarding the game itself. I just started so I kind of suck. Haven't played Battlefield in a while, and never a "modern" one on PC. The graphics were serviceable but I really expected better. I thought the game played fine and might be more fun when I have a better idea of what to do but regardless of that, I will not be paying anywhere near $60 for this game.
But still, not a great first impression. What a hassle.

While this game isn't very good looking, Im pretty sure that's been taken from a stream now.
Just made a ps4 screenshot from the same position now.
Still looks bad of course, but not THAT ugly and I doubt resolution would make that difference.

I can't believe there is people out there with really nice 1080p HD TVs and monitors who say they can't notice the difference. 720p is such a blurry mess.

720P is totally unacceptable on current generation hardware. I am very concerned about Star Wars Battlefront now.

Because this is uglier, has smaller maps, and BF4 was a launch game. I'd expect a higher res than 720p or 900p based purely on those things.

Maybe it's me not seeing enough yet (watching via twitch) but it seems very much like battlefield with model swaps, what exactly is different here?
Instead of jeeps you have street cars.
Small towns in the middle of mountians with no one but guys with guns spawning at each end.
Maybe i'm watching the wrong game modes here.

I think people are expecting too much. This is EA we're talking about, of course it's just going to be little more than BF4 re-skinned.
Man, there are going to be some insane meltdowns on here when Battlefront gameplay is shown for the first time.

netcode is abysmal. when someone ziplines, the game allocates a single frame for every 10 meters of movement. its basically impossible to hit anyone ziplining.

If anything, surely PC gamers are going to be the most disappointed because Battlefront is most likely going to b a console-focused BF4 re-skin. I suspect veterans of the franchise will be pissed.
As a console player, if the game does turn out to be BF4 in a Star Wars skin I won't really care much because I didn't play the old games, and I love BF4's gameplay.
battlefront has always been a console franchise first. PC gamers that played Battlefield never cared about Battlefront. I know I didn't.

And to think this game was going to come out last november, would have been a mess of a launch.
Do Quick Match. It'll find you a populated server. But it may be that Americans are still "asleep"/busy with work while Europe is playing or whatever right now.

It's annoying that you can't download it on US PSN even though it's on the server already, my friend is a gamestop manager and got a code a few days ago to download it. Problem is that there is no one online to play with.
When BF4 launched that was a bug with the server list. No idea if they ever fixed it. Just saying.

It was the closest thing to Battlefield on the consoles so it makes sense that it's got more of a following on consoles. SOCOM was basically the same thing but for Counterstrike.

yea its simply not available to the masses on PSN yet. There are a few Amercans with early access codes but nobody from NA can download it from PSN yet.
