that puzzling face
I'm actually hoping they tone down the ATRs a bit after the demo launch. At this point I feel they've shown too much of a product that people are supposed to discover for themselves, magnifying even the slightest details.

Naoki Yoshida's approach with the Letter from the Producer series aired about every two months or so. I think that'd be a good plan for Tabata to follow.

Agreed. At some point it's sending out the wrong message because hurr internet.

Looking nice, glad they reduced that hitstun. The dungeons really don't look good, just short narrow paths. I'm hoping they are much better, so I'll save my judgements until the demo. Can't wait to see caves looking like what we saw a while back:

I don't see any reason to show off anything after the demo until E3. That's probably when the real marketing/ them spoiling everything campaign starts. Or just a story trailer E3 and tons of more in depth by TGS. Either way I don't think they'll do much ATR stuff or show off outside of big events. And if they do yeah 2 months sounds good enough.

I'm probably going to try and avoid everything other than big trailers.

I mean at the end of the day, it's up to our discretion. We can go on a blackout if we want to.

I do agree that stuff like wildlife don't need to be shown. That's something to discover on your own, and not actual game mechanics.

I think there will be one more ATR after the demo is released, since Tabata has said that once the demo is out he will share certain things with us, like airships. But then after that I totally agree.

Voices are really bad, don't think I'll ever get used to those.

Unnecessary 'going through tight rocks sequence' ripped off from Uncharted and its kind.
These were my exact same thoughts except I then realized it was probably a level/asset loading scenario for the latter.

But voices are BAAAAD!

loading? LOADING?

how are you going to fly an airship into the cave seamlessly if you have to load it
Not sure what you're talking about but I can't imagine an airship fitting through that space...

Unless there's another entrance, that's what a docking/landing cinematic is for =P.

WOAH. I spent 5 months researching everything I could find about Vs13/ 15 for a big retrospective video and never saw this before. What's this from?

The tech demo from October. They actually removed Noctis from that scene in the official footage. Probably because it implied a battle or something.

Walkthrough (quite literally lol)

Tech Demo Vol. 1 (we should expect Vol. 2 before release since this is only for Luminous Engine 1.4; the final version should be Luminous Engine 2.0)

The first tech demo for the engine. They showed it around the end of the year last year. October or September, I forgot.

And here I thought I had seen every piece of media for the game... I've failed...

Edit: Okay after watching that tech demo video I totally remember this, but not the one of Noctis in it. Was that shot offscreen at some event?

I still am in shock and disbelief that we have reached a point in time where we get monthly new informstion of that game. Like I just don't believe it.

Lol, it definitely left an impression the first time I saw it, couldn't forget it. Looks beautiful.

Took me a bit to find that gif, but I remembered it was from that French tech demo so I just looked for the thread.

The battle music during the dungeon video might be one of my favorite FF battle themes. I love it. ;_;

Also, I agree with the negativity surrounding Prompto's English VA. I mean, I might grow to be "okay" with it, but I'm really not liking it at the moment. :/

English Prompto doesn't sound too good but I don't think it's worth stressing over since it most definitely will not change. I'll probably be able to do deal with it.

Wow at that wild life and the wilderness area and cave... I don't want to overreact too much because you could make a video like that, I suppose, for a lot of MMO or open world RPGs... but at least in a traditional FF, looks just awesome and is great to see. I mean, open world free-roaming chocobos? With those feathers, that down? That's like an automatic plus ten points to greatness.

Voice acting made me cringe a bit but I'm not a fan of the character art style anyhow so I'm probably a bit predisposed to be biased, so I'll be OK with whatever.

Can't get enough of those behemoths... I've always been a bit of a 'Behemoth Hunter' every since FF2. I just always grind the fuck out of them, by far my favorite RPG monster. Used to joke about getting a behemoth mount in FF XI all the time (everyone thought that was so dumb) and love the behemoth mount in FF XIV (haha knew one day I'd get one) so that's like the #1 thing I'm looking foward to doing in XIV so far -- hunting behemoths.

Hope the game has some free roam or even non-linear gameplay systems... even if it's mundane, repetitive, copy/paste... like some sort of Tactics Ogre Hells Gate/FFT Deep Dungeon... FFXII Hunts... anything. Just give us a lot of extra shit to do once we beat the game so we can further utilize those big environment areas.

Let's just hope they reach their goal of dual audio in the final release then. I feel like they fell into to trap of trying to make the English version sound like the Japanese counterpart and that's the absolute wrong way to do any sort of localization.

I wonder if I should preorder type-0 for the demo. Don't want to pay for a demo, anybody who played type-0 and recommend it?

It's pretty good, yeah.

Unfortunately they took a lot of the difficulty out of the game after people complained about it. But other than that, it's a fantastic game (and there is still some hard stuff I'd reckon, you just have to go out of your way to find them).

If it doesn't make it to print then maybe we can get dual audio as a DLC or something? That would be nice. Since I would play with the Japanese VAs for sure if we get the option.

Yes, they've done it for a few games now so it wouldn't be unusual.

For the main game too? I thought the main game had Easy and Normal, and if you wanted Hard/Impossible you'd have to go to the Missions menu after you complete them on Normal.

That's awesome if they balanced everything to have an Impossible difficulty in the main game.

Certainly would be my reason of playing another 80 or so hours.

Except with Noctis. He sounds like The Batman. Which I'm growing strangely fond of...

Pretty sure they added a Hard mode from the start.

Yeah i too think they should tone down ATRs a bit.
Once every big gaming convention (E3, Gamescom, TGS, PSX etc.) as a further insight other than big trailers at conventions, and then the occasional Famitsu details.

I know everyone says this game is coming out in 2016 but if so, why are they advertising this game so much now? I want to believe for a December 2015, and no I will not listen to reason. #believe

I have never seen a game being advertised this much that would release a year later. Yes I realize there is a demo/FF 0 next month, but it's been ongoing for a while now.

Because all of the advertising has been for said demo.

Fall 2016, you're paying for FFXV and Type-0 comes for free.

Depending on what comes out in early 2016, it might be a prime window to release XV unopposed. Look at how well Dying Light did. That game would have gotten murdered if it released in Fall. XV is already highly anticipated and releasing it next to nothing would boost sales like crazy. I still say January/ February 2016.

That's something you actually need to do when spelunking. It's not ripping off Uncharted, it's just recreating the experience of going into caves. Real caves aren't perfect tunnels.

I'm probably going to beat the demo like 15 times... last time i played a demo that much was for MDK2 for the dream cast back in 2001.

Those are pretty good points and right after the holidays where you know a bunch of people are getting new systems as well.

I agree with this, no matter how delusional.
