The funny thing is, if Peter gets similar time in MCU to RDJ thus far (7-8 years), then they move to Miles after that, the kid who will eventually play Miles (assuming they bring in a very young actor) is probably only 8-10 years old right now.

It could be ANYONE :O

spider man has been telling the same story onscreen for decades already can we please change it up a bit

but but but

preserve the sanctity of the character!!!

They have been telling the same story onscreen for decades. Because reboots. Also...you don't have to change the character to tell a different story. Just tell a different story. Spidey has plenty of work to pull from.

ultimate spidey tv series with miles morales would be great. Then you wouldnt have to worry about matching up to the movie universe at all

reboot? dont you think thats a bit ridiculous considering ASM2 was released a couple a years ago? like sis. they seriously could have casted garfield again and nothing would have changed. this is a boring casting decision

I thought they wanted an older Spiderman. I am kind of tired of the teen angst one.

They've been saying the exact opposite.

A younger Spider-Man works better with this story IMO. Having a teen Parker paired with an older Tony Stark is too perfect to pass up. Also, Tony talking a teenager into revealing his secret has all sorts of consequences.

This is Patrick Stewart levels of obvious, and I have been fighting for him since I found out he existed. Dude's a massive Spidey fan, too. They couldn't've picked better.

Blue Zoe Saldana no problem, green Zoe Saldana no problem . . .

If you are implying they are painting her / using digital just because she's black that's disgusting.

For fucks sakes shes playing aliens who are those colors my god

Peter Parker is not a male model. He's more Tobey McGuire than Andrew Garfield.

Sigh. Give me a moment. I made a post about this already.

Seriously, This "hopeless nerd Parker" hasn't been a thing since the late 60s.

You confuse hopeless nerd with the Parker bad luck.

This character that Tobey represents in the Romita films is barely a part of the character anymore. It's literally Raimi remembering the earliest part of Spider-Man. The important part of early Spider-Man is letting the character change with the era.

He's been hot for a long time.

Miles is literally the most boring Spider-Man right now i don't understand the fascination with the character.

Ditto, if you want a nonwhite Spider-Man go with Miguel. Diversity, actual personality, and a new setting for Spidey.

I don't even know why people like Miles so much. I'd rather they do Anya or any of the Women Spiders.

A good number just wanted him for his race, but honestly when you look at what they actually want are wanting a black Peter Parker.
Another portion just wanted it to see people flip their shit.
The three or four that actually have read his books and genuinely like the character, well god bless them.

I feel like I've said this in every thread about Parker lately, but Peter is the male version of the nerdy girl in movies who just needs to take her glasses off and change her hair to be a babe. Peter is a pretty handsome dude who was just socially awkward. He married a model for God's sake.

That'd be me. Love him.

Ive only seen him in Maze Runner and he was terrible in that... not good news IMO. But enough people are excited so hopefully I'm wrong. He looks the least like Peter Parker out of the three actors too (Tobey and Andy).

Pretty much the perfect choice. I figured the MCU Spiderman would be a bit older and more experienced, however, but I guess how there's suddenly a new superhero coming out of NY that nobody's ever heard of means that he'll be a little bit younger. Not surprised that they're casting him now though as he's going to be in Civil War (which is starting preproduction/filming soon) and they need to figure a way to wedge him in there.

I would pay good money to see this.

Even if you want to cast a black person or hispanic or asian to play Peter i don't care, i just want Peter. Peters worst stories are still more interesting then anything Miles has done and the monthly comic sales numbers shows that.

Peter should be attractive but definitely not the level the comics have at times portrayed. it veers into wish fulfillment

I think you have a point if you look at older Spider-Man comics - Ditko's Peter Parker doesn't look like he's supposed to be attractive:

Eh but t doesn't always have to be the earliest incarnation of comic characters that get portrayed though.

Hell, Heath Ledger's Joker is a far cry from the guy who genetically engineered smiling fish and kept talking about Batman's "biggest boner".

Ehh, going to disagree there. I like the plots Miles has been involved in and his supporting cast has been top notch. It's Miles himself who is the problem, he's either written as a blank slate reacting to everything or as Peter Parker.

I can't wait for a line of someone encountering Spidey and being like,
"How old are you?"
"Uhhh 27?"
