The need is real. People have been waiting a long time for this. I'll be getting it day 1. FF 7 us the game that made me buy a ps1 back in the day.

!!!

If this game does well enough, I just might get my Final Fantasy 8 Remsaster after all! Underrated masterpiece. Make it happen Square-Enix.

Same thought here. I'm one of those gamers who God knows why I skipped FF7 back then & focused on finishing the others in the series & among those, FF8 became my favorite one (followed by VI). & After that tech demo in 2005, I just decided to skip the original VII & just WAIT, conscious about the years it would take for the Remake to come. & that night of the conference when it hapened, I started yelling & clapping hysterically like never before. So yeah, if VII delivers properly, I do believe an 8 might happen. & why the fuck not all of them!

Really cool: How did you get this view count data?

On my game forum a person wanted to rank a bunch of E3 video views against each other, so I made a program to do that for him. It updates the view counts automatically every few minutes, and as a side effect records views over time for all the tracked videos. For this thread I just extracted the data from it.

I think the trailer was EPIC. Like the mood, music (jaws theme lol), voice over, dialogue, the teasing of the lifestream/playground/train/Bombing Mission theme etc. all were absolutely spot on.

Can't stop watching.

Look at all the reaction videos. Had grown men in tears. This is a game that will literally sell millions of units and I'm sure it's selling some PS4's right now

I'm unsure if that's an impressive number in this day and age but it's not like I know what game trailers average anyways.

That's awesome to hear.

Now let this lead to my FF VIII remake with the 4th disc completely opened up to a future setting, side quests involving characters like Raijin, Fujin, Seifer(redemption quest), Edea, Laguna, Kiros and Ward and finally tightened battle system.

Give it to me SE.

Not quite as significant, but I'm happy to say my reaction video broke 200,000:

https://youtu.be/ieB51rHpQ4Q

I think I might have the second most-viewed FFVII reaction video after GT Live.

That unrestrained enthusiasm hasn't waned. I'm so happy we have entered the "holy shit the Remake is real" era.

This is yours? Oh man I saw this a few days ago and I was howling with laughter and equally stunned.

Its the initial 'FOOL ME ONCE, SHAME ON YOU' is said followed by..."Huhhhrgg!" when it actually starts playing indicating the possibility of what it is then subsequent "Hrrrrhhh!!" noises throughout that get me.

It sounds like heart attacks were being had! Immense video friend, thanks for sharing the love :)

What i love about the trailer is that it already showing a side of the story we haven't seen, i believe this is few moments before the opening of the original right?

Mmmhh... I just hope that the remake starts in the very exact same way as the original. I SERIOUSLY need to experience this new version starting from exactly this scene.

The opening to FFVII is one of the most hype inducing openings to any game EVER.

Oh I agree, that opening is iconic and the remake has to start with it.

When that music kicks in.... I'm gonna lose it.

Do you remember people saying, that the sales of a Final Fantasy 7 Remake would never justify its cost/ bring back the money of the development.
This game will never sell as good as a new Mainline FF Game...

I bet this Remake will sell better than every other FF Game in the past 14 years (since X)

The Hype is real:

For this Game you have the actual Final Fantasy Fans + the oldschool FF Fans that stopped playing the series + all those new generation gamers who are curios about the legendary Final Fantasy 7

Maybe they could use that trailer as an attract mode? Then when it goes to the logo it says 'press any button to continue' and then when you select new game you get the original and, I agree, iconic opening but all fancied up.

I second this notion. Only under the condition that I can leave my party in a critical state and mash skip turn button till Limit Breaks appear.

Question: Is there a correlation between YouTube views of a trailer and sales of a video game?

I haven't been this excited for games since the ps2 era. This along with all the other stuff coming out within the next few years is going to be insane.

Such an amazing reveal. That trailer is one of the best ever made. To have dialogue that works for both the actual game and square taking to their fans? Genius

"The reunion at hand may bring joy. It may bring fear. But let us embrace whatever it brings.

For they.....are coming back.

At last the promise has been made"

Actually shinra is taking over the pillar already, and the kids just watch the explosion releasing mako.

Hence they are coming back home from the bombing instead...

It's as good as the PC port on PS4 trailer was bad.

Aye. People keep saying that FFXIII damaged the brand, when there is no evidence that supports this aside from vocal internet enthusiasts. We'll see just how damaged the brand is when FFXV and this come out.

I do think FFXIII damaged the brand a little, on the other hand a great FFVII remake can bring the brand to new highs, meanwhile a good FFXV can restore the faith on S-E being able to make a worthy remake.

They are indeed coming back from the bombing attack

At the end of the trailer Barret and Cloud are heading to the Seventh Heaven.
