Mafia 3 Reveal next week

As long as it's better than the colossal disappointment that was 2, I'll be happy.

I still feel like we won't get a quality game like Mafia ever again though.

While I do like Miami and the rise of the drug trade there in the 70's, the 70's was the decline and destruction of La Cosa Nostra. I think the series is better served staying in the 30's-50's.

Plus we haven't had a good game set in the 30's in aaaaaaaages. A good mob game at the height of the mobs nascence would be amazing.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
Why does the logo look so damn amateurish?

Anyway im interested, please be more like Mafia 1.

Hopefully there wont be 30 hours of driving like in Mafia 2 or if there is they actually populate the city.

Other than that i love Mafia 2 and i believe it was the first game with physx support that i played and remember being blown away with all the debris and shit from the shootouts.

Dude is obviously some sorta cop, it's hard to make out but he's got some kinda badge. Character next to I'm pretty sure is a woman.

So unless this is a sopranos thing, I don't think it's ACTUALLY gonna be Mafia based, more than likely just crime. Also, based on the success of GTAV, no doubt we are gonna be able to play as those 4 characters.

I'm willing to bet it's just gonna be an open world game lol. However this time let's hope the open world isn't as desolate as it was in Mafia 2.

IDK, people really love Mafia 2, but asides from a half decent story and the fact that it's got a mafia theme (which is always cool) it really wasn't that good a game. Hell, even the Godfather game back on PS2 had more stuff and more interesting things to do.

I'm getting F2P vibes from that mass appeal logo. I know Mafia has always been a niche franchise, so 2K probably want to reach to a wider audience. I just hope the game doesn't itself get dumbed down along with the logo, even more so than in Mafia II.

But still, holy shit it's happening!

Compared to the old logo, there's the generic font and it looks squished.

Stretching it out makes it look a little more familiar, but you still have that simplistic font.

I think they're going for the Bullitt type of look, but it doesn't really work. The letters are too close together, the big red number is too loud (also, what's the deal with the little beak in the top right?), and the nature of the letters of 'MAFIA' means it's comprised entirely of straight lines.

Here's hoping they looked at what Mordor did with enemy NPC and apply some sorta gang hierarchy stuff. That would be fucking amazing. That plus business ownership and collecting from stuff like Godfather and Scarface, this shit could be GOTG

Count me excited!

Previous one was an amazing looking game. Too bad it was plagued with issues during development on changes of direction and what not.

Hopefully this one is the opposite.

Yes!!! That makes too much sense!

I don't think they will do it, but it would be awesome.

I'm being pretty cynical, but it reminded me of the new Hitman logo and that series' new simplified format, while gameplay looks superb.

I don't particularly want the series to become a multiplayer injected open world where players share each others mission stats on a leaderboard instead of a strong, linear singleplayer narrative with the freedom of an open world to wrap around it.

I know that's a lot to riff on from a logo but it's a possible hint at a new direction for the series and that in-game facebook type thing is pretty trendy at the moment.

I really liked both Mafia games. I got Mafia II at a huge discount and just blasted through it and had a good time. The gun play was nice and fast paced. I remember a few cheap deaths but overall I thought the action was good for that type of game. The story was decent and they nailed the setting. I tried some of the DLC but couldn't get into it for some reason.

There are few games I want to play more, so I'm psyched about this announcement! Or tease, whatever you want to call it.

Mafia II was a great game. Criminally underrated.

I mean that's what it looks like to me, if the poster is any hint. Either that or you play as the dude kneeling down about to fed to the gators. We have what looks like like a white sketchy dude, a really tall dude, a black sketchy lady, and some sorta corrupt cop/agent. That's a decent amount of variety lol.

Edit: and we know they are sketchy, cause almost all of em are wearing jackets...in what very well could be the Louisiana swamp. It is currently like 90 degrees out right now in New Orleans, and that's good considering it was like 98 a couple days ago.

They would be sweating their asses off, no one in their right mind would have a jacket out there. Unless of course it's winter, but I'm gonna doubt that. Why is it always fashion over common sense?

if its 4 main protagonists..i wonder if it will be linear where we shift perspectives or will it follow the gta v system of switch when you want

It's a good question. I think it'll be exactly like GTA's system, where you got set character missions, but you can be any character you want when just roaming.

Highest Resolution on their Site I guess.

Dunno why they changed the Font. Looks like some racing game font now.

Looking at that bigger picture, guy on the far right not might be a cop. He has a suit, and it looks like what I thought was a badge is maybe just a napkin/cigarettes or something.

looking at the picture, i think we are getting great diversity

- white sketchy guy on the far left

- tall black guy

- black lady

- white corrupt cop...

there was a mafia 3 leak along time ago that talked about descriptions for 3 characters

Franklin-
Franklin is a mixed-race character, with African American and Caucasian parents, and he grew up in Louisiana, where he was an outsider to both black and white societies. After returning from the war, he is looking for different jobs to earn some money and "rise to criminal prominence."

The Tall Guy in the picture

Tony-Tony is not your typical gangster. Meticulous and organized, Tony is more concerned about numbers and profit than people. On the surface, Tony appears quiet and socially awkward, but in reality he is more than capable of inflicting violence on anyone who disrupts his bottom line
."

The guy on the far right in the picture

Mickey

"A young street hustler who likes to run his mouth, Mickey likes to talk big on the streets, but when push comes to shove, he can't back it up. Mickey has a bad habit of taking credit for bigger jobs and making himself seem higher up in the criminal ladder than he really is. When confronted with this, he reverts back to the scared teenager he really is."

Mafia 2 wasn't as good as the first game but I'm still very much looking forward to this, especially since it will be set in the 70s this time around.
