Destiny |OT38| The 0.04% of the 4%

The Skolas fight is probably the best boss in the game. Invididual raid encounters may be better (Gatekeepers, Templars), but as an individual boss man that you're taking down, Skolas is GOAT.

Just imagine, you're fighting a boss, and you're not standing in same place continually shooting at a glowing bit. That the encounter can be tackled in a variety of different ways. That you can move around. That you'll never say "well, that's a wipe" and start over just because you didn't have a perfect run.

Also, for those of you who care, I'm getting close to finalizing my 1200+ word post about Year Two's end game problems. Thinking Monday.

I'm starting to think this as well. Full fledged sequel would certainly have already been teased at the very least.

A big "expansion" in the same universe? Sure...that could and probably will happen.

But my hopes of a completely overhauled Destiny 2 with only current gen support with all new areas, maps....etc...is dimming.

Your gonna load your same characters into Destiny 2 coming fall 2016. And it's gonna be shown for the first time at e3. And it's gonna be sold as a new $60 game in the same world.

It's been typical recently for Bungie to not show anything until e3. Maybe we will get a name leak before then but who knows.

It's probably I guess going to be as much content as Vanilla Destiny but in the same world with hopefully several new locations and environments.

And I think at least parts of the Destiny that we have now is going to go F2P. At least they appear to be taking steps in that direction with all the MTs.

This is really closer to Destiny 1.5...but I feel ya.

Can't you just spam him with 300+ snipers and heavy now and kill him before the first taint transfer anyway? As in the original cheese methods but much easier because you take less damage and don't need specific OP weapons.

Or are you proposing lowering your LL and doing it the old intended way.

Bungie probably doesn't want to announce Destiny 2 too soon if it's a whole new game becayse it will cause the player base to start asking some potentially uncomfortable questions. What will transfer over if anything? If emotes don't transfer then expect microtransactions to drop off heavily. If no gear transfers then that drastically reduces the loot encouragement, not that there is any good loot right now. E3 to October is a plenty long press cycle. If there isn't a new game in the fall then Destiny is officially dead. There simply isn't enough content to justify making us wait so long just to get more Dlc with worthless events being used to string us along until then.

I really wish all this stuff you can see in the tower was accessible.

Wouldn´t it be cool if we had a trophy room up there?

With all our raid gear on the wall?

We will get SOMETHING in the fall. I just don't think it will be the overhaul that some of us were thinking it would be (i.e. Destiny 2).

Obviously they have had a lot of resources being dedicated to making "Destiny 2" even before Vanilla shipped, so my bet that it would have been in development for 3 years at least...but still.

I just want to see what they can do without last gen holding them back :(

Speaking of which. I'd like to schedule a Flawless and also Raiding Party CE on Monday around 8 CST. The last people that were interested were:

1. Me
2. Jakfu
3. Nicodemic
4. Shiv47
5. (Boguester maybe with Graves account?)
6. Pandora012

Let me know if that time works for you cats above. In the meantime, we'll need one or two others, including alts in case some people above can't make it.

Put me down as a backup, I'll arrange to get off work earlier just in case.

Chest and sniper

They really need to cut the last gen cord that has been holding Destiny back from day one. I definitely agree that something will release this fall, but it's a lot harder to justify the current state of affairs if all we get is a DLC pack.

That is what will make it Destiny 2 IMO...and all i'm saying is that you would think we would have heard some sort of rumor by now.

But who knows? Bungie works in mysterious ways.

I'm on the same boat with Hammon on this, I just feel like this game just makes me leave with a bad taste in my mouth but when I go play Battlefront or Black Ops 3, I am actually having a great time. Playing Iron Banner just to get a 310 Rocket Launcher with shitty perks ain't fun.

There's still not a clear path like there was last year, we know TDB and HOW was coming. The Taken King has events, I don't care for events, I want content. They still weren't clear about it in that weekly update a month back when SRL launched.

Real content > Micro Transaction Events.

Hey all, I'm looking to learn the raids in destiny. I tried vault of glass back in vanilla but never got through it. I feel like I'm missing a huge part of the game!

I play Titan right around 280 light. Hoping to group up with some DGaf folks!

I talked about this months ago with friends - I want an apartment in the Tower where I can mount weapons and armour on a wall with wooden plaques.

And there, above the bed in prime position, sits the Gjallarhorn.

Destiny 2 innovations.
Silver for licensed songs from the Jukebox.
I'm gonna put $10k worth of Hoobastank in it.
Someone needs to do this to you.

Fine gentlemen of GAF, one of our own has never completed the Vault of Glass.

Let's amend this so the world may be just and beautiful again.

So who hasn't done Skolas yet? Or does anyone want to do Skolas? I don't know why but I feel like paying the guy a visit this weekend. Won't be able to do it today since I'll be busy with Trials but I'll be up for it tomorrow and Sunday.

I haven't done the level 34 and 35 PoE yet. Would be fine with tomorrow, I'll probably be online all day. Your talk about the boss mechanics intrigues me, I thought it was just another "shoot until dead" boss fight like in lvl 28/32.

Actually did it for the first time, myself, the other day in a two-man fireteam.

Unless you deliberately handicap yourself to whatever light level is average for level 35, Skolas is still very much a "shoot until dead" boss. Of course, it did help that Small Arms was in effect and the first mine appeared where the second Servitor was. Your experience may be different.

WHY ARE YOU RUNNING AWAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Something I really wish Destiny could do: Add zones without telling anyone.

I was a week+ late into dipping my toes in the Dreadnaught patrol. I had 3 characters to make raid ready and had no idea Court of Oryx would make that all much easier. I had to tear through the new campaign. All that time I kept hearing about these new twists people were discovering like the worm scent chest, wormsinger runes, and the relic chest. It all sounded much cooler and more mysteroius until I finally went through it. Right now the feeling of exploration is largely limited to the Raids and missions that use old Raid content. I want to get a bigger taste of that in Patrol. The Sleeper Simulant ghost pickup is a great start with what I am looking for and I'm hoping they keep going down that path. What if we got a 2Gig patch with no notes? What if someone says, "Hey the buildings between Scablands and the Buried City are now open! New zone!"

I've never fought this Skolas guy in PoE. It says so in my Moments of Triumphs.

I'll be available most of the day tomorrow. I'll definitely be free tomorrow around this time to run it.

...I like memento 😓
No you don't
*does Jedi mind trick*

SHOCK CITY

7-7:30PM Todd Time. I have to stop at the store after work.
And here I was thinking I was late.

I think the most interesting thing about the oryx fight is that no matter how high your level is you cant finish the fight any faster. Right now you can kill atheon and crota in one cycle. You'll never be able to do that with oryx because of the bombs do the damage. Which will always require 4 cylces.

We're losing the Doctor? Destiny is truly dead.

Wow, the Doc is gone?.

Doctor Drizzay is never truly GONE.

Lol have no fear, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. I've always been pretty good about scaling my playtime relative to my actual enjoyment to stave off burnout. I still enjoy what little I play and the community here will keep me engaged.

The two biggest issues reducing my playtime are (1) skill-based MM has tanked my Trials enjoyment and (2) nearly all my usual PvP dudes have ~quit. I'd still gladly play 100+ Trials games per week if I had partner-in-crime and we could get reasonable connections.

Like LT, I really miss doing the regular Friday runs w Wicked and Stabie but it doesn't seem like anybody has the interest. It's hard to find the balance of playing seriously without taking the BS seriously. Destiny PvP is so rife with nonsense that it becomes a war of "frustration attrition"
Frustrition!
and most people I know have exceeded their limit.

I don't know what the solution is, or if there even is one.

Dedicated servers for Destiny 2 would be a nice start.

Silver subscription for dedicated servers coming to you soon, courtesy of Azure and Activision.

i would pay

Now would be a great time for Bungie to add custom games to revitalize the game a bit, but that isn't going to happen any time soon. I wonder if they don't have them because of loot concerns (easy fix: don't give any) or because of some nebulous notion that it wouldn't fit right within the feel of Destiny.
