Firewatch |OT| With Me

As a graphic designer who is still in school I get depressed every time I look at his work and realise he's only a year older than me.

C'est la vie.

Don't feel bad. Moss has been working on his shit for ages--I got to see a lot of it back in my PA/AC days. Granted, he was fucking good back then, too :p (Hi Moss)

Played the game with my girlfriend and it was amazing. I wanted more but I know why I can't get more.

I might replay it again with her and disable the map tracking. But that won't be until months after.

It's all good. Gonna try to create something in that same heavy contrasty style over the weekend for the city I'm living in. Should be fun!

Just finished it, very cool game with amazing visuals and great atmosphere. Never used the jog button, walking around and exploring was very enjoyable.

Ending was
a bit of let down for me though, was expecting something more outrageous I guess after all the build-up

I liked how they kept everything within reason and plausible. It has absolutly nothing supernatural about it, no conspiracy theories etc, it's just plain human drama. Loved it. It's understandable and plausible within the scope it set out.

SOMA is a lot like Firewatch... But it is quite a bit longer, has a terrifying environment and some enemies, and set in an under sea world.... Absolutely amazing game, you should get it.

Man I'm really enjoying this so far - beautiful visuals, rich narrative and wonderful overtones. One question though - how much weight do your decisions carry? I'm intrigued to know whether this is worth multiple playthroughs with different answers/actions.

So far I've been
taking every note and saving my camera roll for... well, something - I'm not sure yet!
. No spoilers please!

Your choices
don't mean anything.

SOMA is highly recommended and personally much more introspective and explorative of its themes than FW (and perhaps something that Campo Santo might take a gander at for their next game in order to improve their storytelling techniques)

SOMA does involve game overs when stealth sections are failed, if I understand it.

[Summary of some of my friends' experiences]: Once you have a handle on the mechanics, you shouldn't have too much trouble. The main people who were frustrated, I think, were those in a hurry to finish the game. Enemies turned into roadblocks between story chunks instead of challenges.

You can get official mods that removes fail conditions for stealth sections (not sure about PS4)

Finished in four hours, loved every minute. Holy shit the story and dialogue was so good. I LOVED
that it didn't devolve into something supernatural (I was worried it might go all Uncharted/Tomb Raider on me), and that it was just two people over-reacting to some mildly messed up situations, weaving events together where connections shouldn't be made, and generally playing along with the popular acronym of "fear" - false evidence appearing real - due to the lonely nature of their jobs.

Also, really makes me think about the way I've dealt with hardships in my own life, and since I'm only late twenties it makes me think of the potential hardships still to come. Such a great dissection of the pointlessness of running away from your problems, yet at the same time shows how space and a fresh perspective can help you come to terms with them.

SO IMPRESSED! Also, so disappointed that such a huge number of people don't get the game. At least the critics got it.

Pretty brilliant summary of the games strengths you put together there. It was refreshing how uncurated and realistic the plot felt. I'm glad it didn't resort to the
supernatural or to any kind of "torture porn" where Henry spends long amounts of time in excruciating pain. The worst thing that happens is a punch to the face, but compared to normal everyday life, that's actually kind of a big deal

I keep getting this shit when looking at a very specific location near the watch tower:

Any idea of what the cause for this could be? I hope it's not my graphics card dying since this only happens with this game and every other game will always look fine :S

Also the drivers are from January 22nd so fairly recent? Are there specific drivers for Firewatch I should be downloading?

Are you on a laptop? Is the game using your integrated gpu instead of the dedicated one? We've seen similar results when that is the case.

I'm on a desktop PC.

My PC specs:

System: WIndows 10 Home
Processor: Intel Core i7-3820 @ 3.60Ghz
RAM: 16Gb
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680
Driver Version: 10.18.13.6175 (from January 22nd)

Not too well versed on the more technical side of things these days. How can I check what the game is using?
Is this really going to be my card dying on me? :(

Anybody else having recent issues using a DS4 with this? Was working fine yesterday using input mapper but today the camera is just constantly spinning.

Where is this option, looked everywhere.

Also, why would I try to hide it when I want to use it?
It should be a checkbox in the ds4windows app.
And since you're fooling your computer into thinking the DS4 is an Xbox controller you want to hide the DS4 so the PC doesn't think there are two controllers hooked up. That's how I always understood it.

So I'm on Day 76 and I'm stuck. I can't find
where the bear tracks are by the lake.
I've been running around in circles for awhile and I just have no idea where they're supposed to be.

All I want to say is Olly, Jake and the rest of Campo Santo, thank you for the wonderful game you have created. I enjoyed every single second of the 6 hours I wondered around and listened to banter.

I look forward to your next game!

Also Olly, please let us see a drawing of Delilah!

Bleh, ill keep looking. Was working flawless yesterday.

Finished, decided to look around the internet for impressions and... yikes.

I love how many people on the Steam forums are starting to paint this as a
anti-male game thanks to the ending and the credits mentioning Anita Sarkessian.

I think a lot of people missed the part where
Delilah, who initiated any potential romance with you in the first place when the fire first appeared, is open to visiting Henry after they both deal with their own loose ends.

It's a bit frightening how hostile some people are to the idea that a woman who feels attraction towards them still might not be comfortable helping them cheat on their severely ill wife. Especially a woman who just learned of her own involvement in the death of an innocent person, and one who may still have relationship obligations of her own to iron out.

Played up to day 2 and loving it so far. Harry Crane is a great VA choice, and I just really dig the entire concept of the story. Technical hiccups are unfortunate but certainly not game ruining thus far.

Don't worry about the tracks. Look for something that is out of place sitting on top of a rock near the lake.

Played up to day 2. Having a great time so far. Delilah is delightful, and the visuals are awesome. Intrigued in the narrative as well.

Cranked everything up to max and did not have a single hiccup on a 980ti.

Talking about getting a refund on a finished game is a little slimy though guys. Glad the poster I have in mind recanted. Though I feel like maybe you didn't know about the length going in? I feel like pre release talk made that pretty clear.

Edit: if money is tight I don't think buying a "walking simulator" is gonna be worth it if you are looking for something that can last you longer.

Fantastic. The description of the mod's impact sounds like the exact kind of thing I'd prefer.

Thanks for the heads up!

I immediately got the game on PC just for that mod to experience the story and characters again after beating it on PS4. It's a riveting experience all the way to the end, amazing game. I wish more people play it so I could read more opinions and thoughts on the story from other people.

I mean I didn't expect to love a horror game so much but after finishing it, it shot up to my number 2 on my GOTY list and it probably has one of the best horror game stories in a long ass while because most of what we get for horror today barely have stories. I put SOMA below SH2(Silent Hill 2)in terms of story/characters for me, easily.

This was one of the first games in a long time that I've sat and played through from start to finish in 1 sitting. I loved every moment; Art Style, music,
thriller and paranoia that came from it.
My only annoyance
was how the story wrapped up after spending the last hour with goose bumps from all the thriller. Oh and for some reason my FPS dropped to 5 at the final scene of the game, ruining the ending a bit.

But overall I loved it, defiantly the best game I've played so far this year.

Yeah, it was actually quite shocking how good SOMA was. The story is incredible stuff.

I'm from Brazil and played. Most brazilians have another account, as you might know.

I have another account but my main account, wich I have PS+, is on Brazilian PSN.
I bought it for PC so I'm playing it, but, the fact it isn't on Brazilian PSN, wich is not Campo Santo fault, is a shame.

Information was confirmed. I've received an email from their team saying the same.
