As hinted at previously, Ema Skye has been officially confirmed to return in Ace Attorney 6, along with the obvious return of Trucy Wright. They'll both be involved with the second case of the game, revolving around a magic act.

There'll be more info in this week's issue of Famitsu.

Flying get info:
  • Trucy is the defendant in case 2.
  • Trucy's magic act plays a major role in the big show.
  • Ema Skye is back as an investigator using forensics.
  • Forensics mechanics are back, including fingerprint analysis and 3D rotation of evidence for examination. Multi-angle videos will be used to see inconsistencies using multiple view points.

Edit -- never mind, still excited anyway but people are right, it's likely only the first few cases.

I mostly don't follow the Famitsu reveals, how many info on later cases are usually revealed, if any?

I did not follow the ones closely for AA5 or DGS, but I don't believe they ever go in-depth for anything past case 3.

For case 3 in particular, since it likely takes place in Kurain, they might announce who the prosecutor and/or detective will actually be for that region before the game's release in June.

I'd wish they'd keep this stuff secret and surprise you within the game.

Think of it, I know with the setting it's kind of hard to not expect Maya, but imagine if you didn't see her half way through the game, but then through a build up of expectations you are given a surprise appearance in the middle of court!

Some of my favorite parts of the series came from these kinds of moments, AA3:
Edgeworth's reveal in the last case of AA
and VS Layton:
Edgeworth's appearance in the end.

As a guy who hated pretty much everything about AA5, the returning characters are the only things left that I have any interest in, and I just don't like they way they are handling them from these announcements.

Welp, they could have Gumshoe.

But that's the thing; Maya appears within the first 2-3 hours of the game. Everything they've been showing is early game stuff.

Don't worry, they'll keep Edgeworth a secret so absolutely no one will ever see him coming in the last case, it'll be a total shocker

Objection - those aren't part of the main story, doesn't count.

True. Though I guess because of how they're set up, I just would very heavily doubt that Edgeworth would be played as a surprise prosecutor for the final case. If anything, I could see Blackquill taking that role, considering the anime.

Still holding out for Franziska being the main Kurain prosecutor after Payne.

They finally brought video footage back!

That bit with them in 1-5 is still one of my favorite puzzles in the entire series.

Apollo Justice not selling as well was a sign to Capcom not take risk with the main series.

Didn't The Great Ace Attorney bomb too?

...What?

Apollo Justice is currently the all-time best selling game in the Ace Attorney series.

DGS did well.

Fan-Service Attorney 6

Christ you can't make anybody happy. Last couple games: "where's X? Where's Y? Ugggggh" now "too many returning characters, fanservice bullshit."

These games are liked as much as they are because of the characters. I love all the returning faces.

Ema's fine and all but where's Gumshoooooeeee.

I wish Oldbag was coming back, or at least talked about. I wanna know if she's still around or if she's kicked the bucket from old age yet.

How many years had actually passed in game between AA4 and AA5? One or two? If so, then it would be weird for her to have a different design, unless something specifically happened, for course.

1 year, and I believe that's the same case from AA5 to AA6. She has that armband, though; maybe it means something.
