Carl's Jr. gives a nod to their California roots with the launch of the new California Classic Double Cheeseburger.

While a "California burger" conjures up different images depending on where you hail from, the limited-time California Classic refers to the retro style most associated with In-N-Out and their Double Double.

In this case, it's a burger with double charbroiled beef patties, two slices of American cheese, grilled onions, Thousand Island dressing, tomato, and lettuce.

The California Classic Double Cheeseburger also manages a cheaper price than the Double Double at $2.49 (may vary) and can also be had in a combo with fries and a drink starting at $4.99.
To sweeten the deal there's a $1 off any size California Classic Double Cheeseburger combo available off of the Carl's Jr. website.

i've been begging for over 5 years.
Being in the mid-east this will probably be the closest I can come to having In-N-Out and the closest Carl's Jr is 2 states away.

I rank Carl's Jr, Jack in the Box, and Burger King as the absolute lowest form of fast food.

Actually Bakers and Sonic might be slightly lower.

The point is this won't taste like In-n-Out.

Looks good but chances are, it's a really small burger like the ones they use for their four for four deal.

Their regular sized burger combos usually end up in the 7 dollar range.

Is this coming to Hardys too?

Aren't Carls Jr and Hardys literally the same exact chain, just different names for different territories? Do they have separate product lines? Honest question, never been to a Hardys.

EDIT: God dammit, it's Hardee's. Dude doesn't even know his own fastfood joints!

I haven't been to a fast food restaurant in over a year and after reading the "nutritional" information I know why. Fucking gross.

WaffleTaco

Wants to outlaw technological innovation.
So it's Big Mac without the middle bun and grilled onions, and an extra slice of cheese...

Nice idea, but the meat is still Carl Jr's. Not saying it's a bad thing, it just isn't In-n-Out, I'd rather just get a double western than pretend I'm eating a double double :(

Yeah, if you're going to Carls/Hardees, just stick to the western bacon burger. Not the fake big mac, not the 10 dollar specialty concoction burgers they have every month like the moonshine burger, etc.

Tried Shake Shack and it's probably the closest chain that can reach In-N-Out. The only downside is that it is double the price so those with access to In-N-Out still wins.

I have an IN-N-OUT closer to me than a Carl's Jr. This is pretty much pointless for me. Drive farther away to pick up a shittier knock off version of the world famous Double-Double?

If you up at 2:45am needing a burger you up to no good anyways.... Just go to Jack and get some greasy ass tacos and call it a night.

I work at night and live at night. Also I don't go to jack because I need burgers, not heroin through the drivethru

aren't the pickles in thousand island? and the onions look grilled. seems like the only difference is the mustard.

Pickles as in actual slices, not the little bits in the sauce.

Order a Double Double that's not animal style and there won't be any pickle slices.

This is basically the Big Carl + grilled onions and Tomatoes.

Don't get me wrong, I prefer Carl's to most other fast food burgers in town, my only gripe is that they manage to have worse fries than the once-fried potatoes from In-N-Out.

In n out is bland as fuck. It's an alright burger I guess... but I've had so much better

You are wrong three time in this post.

Carl's fries are horrific. That's why you have to pay a little extra and get the fried zucchinis.

Haha, yep. People are like "you're having a pizza at 8 am?" and I'm like, "6 am to me is like 5 pm to you" and they never get it.
