Let's Talk About PlayStation VR: List of Upcoming Titles

Your timezone is bst though yea? You gotta keep rigs so we can take down the USA :)

(Starts the trash talk then runs and hides as useless at competitive MP lol)

My Amazon pre-order is showing as £35 for some reason, which is a lot better than the £50 that PSN want, so I'm tempted to hang on to it.

If I do get it, I'm up for some transatlantic GAF matches. I'll be the confused looking rig stumbling around getting shot a lot!

Probably something from VR Worlds or EVE, then right to Batman which will probably be the first thing I play at length right after I play a bit of one of those to ease in.

Hey guys I sent out a special thank you message to everybody who donated, if you guys donated anonymously and haven't received it, PM me.

Here is the special thanks note:

Hope you guys enjoy the preview :p

Glad to help, hope you enjoy yours :)

So how does a person in the UK get hold of all the extra demos the US folks get?

Battle Zone being $60 is disappointing. From what I played it would be a wonderful $40 or $30 game...but $60.....c'mon

Yep. I want it but I'm not paying £50 for it. I'll wait and buy it second hand.

Hey, we gotta stand up for queen and country, tea and biscuits on stand-by! ;)

....we got a google sheets thingy for psn/games list, buggered if i can find it, can someone link it for the chaps above? :)

So what's the first games that people are gonna fire up?

I'm thinking vr world's followed by Battlezone followed by Rigs

Still undecided. Batman seems awesome but I think I want to play that all the way through once I've settled in with my headset. Think I might just blast through a bunch of demos, probably start with the The Descent as that was the first ever game Sony showed off on Morpheus as far as I can remember. Cool passive experience so I can fiddle with the headset to make sure I get the right fit and then just soak up the VRness of the whole thing. Really want to just have a look around a few cockpits in Driveclub but I don't think I'll really play it properly the first day. The stuff like Tumble, Super Hypercube and Thumper seem like the kind of thing I'll end up getting sucked into for a couple of hours and not realised the times passed. Then I need to get my girlfriend to give it a try. Gonna have fun seeing her reactions.

So yeah mostly try out all the demos I can get my hands on (in EU so need to download a few off the US store). Gonna be a fun day on Saturday when I finally get time to get really sunk into it (working 12 hr shift in release day and 8 the day after...).

Get yourself a US PSN account (set your console as the primary for your account once you do) and download away. Should be fairly simple, just need a different email address from your main PSN to set it up, should be a simple Google away. Once your done it's a simple case of changing user on your PS4 and when you go to the store it's the US one you see instead. Find the demos and download and they'll be available to play on your main account. Also sets you up to buy games cheaper if you see a good price and can get codes off of somewhere like cdkeys.

I must say I have been disappointed with the pricing of some titles and from Sony themselves the sense of price gouging everything they can. It's a hot item of course but as we saw with the Giantbomb tracking issue it just takes one bad thing to tarnish this quite badly. I feel they're really gouging the customer with the cost of VR Worlds and their Move packs. Just needlessly high, especially for the Moves that are a near necessity to make the most of PSVR. Reminds me of the ludicrous proprietary SD card shenanigans for the Vita and how ludicrously priced it was.

I really want PSVR to be a success and I'm keeping my preorder but it does worry me that they're not helping themselves by doing this stuff. VR worlds is more or less a glorified demo for VR and should either be $10/£10 or free and available to everyone day one. I feel like that seemed like the intention behind it and then they saw $$$ signs. Thankfully there's a lot of £15 or less titles to buy day one, and indeed the stuff I'm more interested in like a Thumper and the puzzle games (well still waiting on a Thumper UK price but I assume about £15) is pretty good value.

Speaking of annoyances with this launch, I sure wish I could preorder the VR games I want from best buy. I have a giftcard, and it getting so close is making me nervous.

I do wish there was a competitive MP in addition to the co-op. Would have made the value proposition a bit easier to swallow.

Buying it regardless but I'm also willing to pay the VR tax. Getting Valkyrie for so cheap made picking up a couple of the higher price games a bit more justifiable.

Some of the VR games (like VR Worlds) will actually be available on the store tomorrow: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/10/09/the-drop-new-playstation-games-for-10112016/

SSD being available tomorrow pushes it more towards the buying category. Hmm.

VR Worlds is obnoxious, as that should be given with every headset to give gamers full mini experiences to really try out PSVR and show it off to friends, instead of playing for a few minutes on the demo disc and being cut off.

Aiming where you look? Sounds exhaustive...would have preferred using moves

I tried this at PAX, and the aiming with head is a bit awkward, but it took only about a minute to get use to it. I felt it become very intuitive especially when you look behind you and start shooting the enemies back there.

This is really the top VR game I'm looking forward to playing more, it was a very engrossing rollercoaster ride, so much fun.

Very excited to pick up PSVR this week but there is one thing I'm a tad bit concerned about which is being totally closed off from my real world surroundings (wife, kids, that burglar casually walking past me as he chooses his wares, etc.) I believe I've seen where the PC headsets allow you to see your surroundings on the fly via the view of your camera (not really sure), any chance this being an option on PSVR?

If not, how will you guys handle this? I'd really rather not have to worry about being scared like crazy when someone touches me to get my attention since I couldn't hear them calling me while gaming lol

I know my dog is gonna flip out with it on my head. Everyone else will just either yell or pull headphones lol.

To save people trawling through the us.blog list, the VR titles confirmed to be available on the US PSN store tomorrow (10/10) are:

100ft Robot Golf
Harmonix Music VR
PlayStation VR Worlds
Super Stardust Ultra VR
Thumper
Wayward Sky

I sure hope that David Attenborough First Life documentary that was listed on the EU PS blog also makes it over to North America. My wife is a giant Attenborough fan, and she'd go nuts at the idea of being "in" a documentary where he occasionally pops up.

Bought a deffective Thrustmaster T150 this afternoon. I'm so disappointed. I gotta return it on Tuesday (Thanksgiving tomorrow). I really want a working one for Driveclub.

Wire lenghts were kind of worrying though, bit too short.

EVE: Valkyrie, SportsBar VR, Driveclub VR.

What is everyone's PSN tag? Mine is: ShadowKingpin

I'll probably go through VR worlds then some random demo's before tucking into something more meaty. The Batman game will probably be the first full title I try.

Glad I could help. Preview is looking nice!

PSN ID is: king_moc

PSN ID: TaggSte

Not sure how many multiplayer VR games I'll be playing, although I lucked out with the $20 EVE Valkyrie pricing error.

Hmm.. Nothing on here I guess for me. I'll get Super Stardust later down the line when I tire of Battlezone.

edit: Received my Eve Valkyrie code it seems from amazon.com.

Was hoping VR Worlds would be a bit cheaper but Everest is still probably going to be the first thing I try. Gonna crank the AC up and try it in a frosty room for a little extra immersion.

FYI I don't think Everest is a Day 1 release title.

I think Battlezone might be one of the few that *could* justify a $60 price tag on the back of its infinitely re playable campaign. I'd still like to see it at $40-50, of course, but it is (more than a lot of the others) a fully-featured game complete with co-op multiplayer.

You can also aim with the left stick and the store descripiton says it's move compatible too, so it seems that every controll method is covered.

Rez is move compatible? What store says this?

EDIT: I see the UK store says this. Hopefully thats not an error, the US store doesn't say this - I will be happy if it is move compatible.

Cool added myself to the list. Didn't know that Sportsbar VR is a launch game..?

Dont' think Sportsbar VR is a launch game guys.

It is:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/09/29/good-times-and-a-sticky-floor-in-sportsbarvr-out-october-13-on-ps-vr/

We’re proud and crazy excited to be a part of the first wave of PS VR titles when we launch on October 13 and can’t wait for you to try out SportsBarVR!

You can pre-order it at GameStop, but not online. It has to be done in-store. You get a digital code on your receipt.

For the record, Super Hyper Cube is also missing from the list (which I'm 99% sure is a launch title).

Also the preorder from Amazon says Sports Bar VR is available on Oct. 13th.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LWSJ4AE/?tag=neogaf0e-20

I would forgive the poor fellow that had to do the drop list, too many damn games on that list, he was bound to miss a few of them.

Anyone know wassup with the SPORTS CHAMPIONS Devs? I know they are independent, and Sony San Diego has lost everyone but the MLB Team..

So what is up with the company? Wouldn't be surprised if Oculus or Valve has them working on a game, if Sony isn't. I believe Oculus already has a VR Sports game no?

edit- oh fuck Zynga bought them. :(

now that mobile app company has two of the most advanced sports studios, IMO. Never for them to release an advanced sports game again. :((

Zindagi (Sports Champions) and NaturalMotion Games (BackBreaker Football)

Is it OK to make a wish list in this thread? Well I'm going to do just that. Two games I want to see on PSVR in the not too distant future.

A Boxing game: Come on, this will be hella fun. Move controllers as your hands for throwing jabs, uppercuts, and anything else. Headset as your head(obviously) for bobbing and weaving. A game like this wouldn't require many button presses and with online it could be really fun. Until you're matched up against an actual boxer and get destroyed virtually.

Initial D: I never got into it but my younger brother fucking loved this game when it was in the arcades back in the mid 2000's. I rarely played, but I loved watching him and company play. I've never been fan of racing games but I find the idea of playing a racing game in VR really exciting. And a personal 1v1 racer that focuses on beating the stage just as much as your opponent sounds like a really fun.
