So...

Launch day: 3D Mario

In-between: Splatoon, Mario Kart, Smash, DQXI...

Well, my wallet is weeping, in a good way.

You still got that New IP, Retro's game and potential third party games coming to Switch.

Your wallet is already dead.

Yeah, and there are also games like Pikmin 4. This is simply madness. I don't have time (nor money) for so many games, and I know Botw will at least take me three months to complete.

Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem mobile games coming next year so Nintendo really needs to cash in on them. Pokémon Go worked perfectly for Sun&Moon, I believe those others will as well.

2017 should be like this:

Launch window:
Mario 3D
Mario Kart 8 Plus
Splatoon Plus
Mario & Luigi vs Rabbids
Pokkén Ultimate

Summer:
LoZ BotW
Smash Ultimate

Fall:
Fire Emblem
Animal Crossing
Wave Race
Pokémon Stars
"New crazy IP" that Emily mentioned

Sounds good. Bye money

Question for you guys. How would you feel if Nintendo marketing behind this console (initially) was the best launch lineup of games of any console in history. Launch day and launch perieod? Will that sell you if they just hit it out of the park with the lineup of irresistible games?

A strong lineup of software is what ultimately sells me on a new hardware platform, so yes.

Oh and now we've got Mario RPG X Rabbids at launch 😵

Edit: oh and rather than in-between Splatoon is evidently a launch title and packed in with the deluxe model

They don't have to specifically say that it's the best launch lineup, because that will instantly make people argue, but they just need to advertise the lineup aggressively and make people realise that it's the best lineup ever on their own.

What third party games you would buy if they announce it for Nintendo Switch?

Thanks, BDGAME.

I really hope that a) the Metroid rumor is true and b) we're either getting a 2D or 3D game in the vein of Metroid Prime and Super Metroid.

I'm guessing that even if a) pans out, we're not going to get Metroid. We're going to get Other M or Federation Force or some shooter or some open world game or some action RPG. And I'm going to be glum. That's my guess. All the From Metroid posts are not helping :p. Admittedly, I've only played up to getting the Lordvessel in the first Dark Souls this past summer, losing steam as it opened up, but that game is its own thing and is not at all like either Zelda or Metroid and I really don't get the desire to give one of those series to them. Like, it is all about the combat and slowly filling in the map while figuring out how to handle the enemies and hazards. It is not about puzzles and gadgets and platforming like Metroid and has heavier combat focus than Metroid should have. Dark Metroid wouldn't be Metroid.

I am interested in that Mario RPG, but will wait for the reveal before deciding if I will buy it. And Splatoon is a must-buy, no question for that. I may need to ask my brother to share the cost since he is even more into Splatoon than me.

BTW, it is worth noting that Nintendo always launch a console with a new IP, so I am also looking forward to seeing the one mentioned by Emily. It could be that launch day new IP.

Thanks, BDGAME.

First, I am not gonna buy Skyrim as I always think that it should be played on PC.

In respects of Ubi games, as I mentioned before, I need to know what that Mario RPG is before making the purchase. I will buy Watch Dogs 2 if it releases on Switch.

Other than that, I will buy any JRPGs coming to Switch.

I think I would buy Red Dead 2 and Mass Effect Andromeda if they were announced for the NS. Mainly because I want the option to use pointer controls to play those games. Something I've wanted since the Wii was announced. I might take a look at Batman: Arkham Knight, too if that was announced as well.

Japanese games for the most part. Dragon Quest XI if it ever comes overseas, Atlus RPGs, Capcom games, etc.

I'm not sure about Western 3rd parties, but I'll buy Overwatch again if Switch version is announced, if ever.

Well, Dragon Quest XI, but that's already announced. I'd buy Persona 5 on that instead of PS3/PS4. I'll buy a portable version down the road if it comes even if I've got it on PS3/4 probably. I'd buy Atlus in general, perhaps not all day and date but eventually. I'd buy Ace Attorney. I'd buy Bayonetta 3 or another top tier Platinum game. Maybe RE7 if that turns out and I don't have it elsewhere. Maybe I'd buy Tekken. Perhaps FFVII remake even if I'm dubious of it, just for the novelty of the cartridge.

Oh maybe a Rayman or BG&E2.

Tbh, I'm not a very good third party buyer any more, at least in the console space. Most 3rd party games I like coming out now are PC exclusives or the few games on Nintendo systems. I want 3rd party catalog I can believe in though and I'm always wishing for a Japanese console software renaissance.

I feel Kingdom Hearts is a series that suits Nintendo systems pretty well. I already have a PS4, but I'd probably play it on Switch if it happens.
There have been KH games on NIntendo portables for over 12 years now so the audience is likely there.

Is this question referring to possible ports of announced games or any 3rd party game even those that are unannounced/might not exist?

Assassin's Creed, Skyrim, Dark Souls, GTA V, Watch Dogs 2, Far Cry 5?, and any other single player focused game to play on the bus.

As for ones I actually expect.. Definitely Monster Hunter. Hoping for a new Mon Hun with an improved engine/graphics. It's time.

As I mentioned early......ARMORED CORE PLS

I guess if a Dark Souls trilogy was announced sure but I really want an action mecha game that isn't just gundam.

Nier:Automata would be great especially if it's able to be 60fps on portable.

Edit:If the games are available on PC I'll still get it there but the portable aspect of being able to play anywhere is something that is good as hell.

Just in dream-game-never-going-to-happen-that-I'd-buy-day-one, a ZOE 2 successor or spiritual successor. Always wanted that.

#1: Beyond Good & Evil 2 - it'd be an insta-buy for me. A lot of the ill will I have towards Ubisoft would melt with its release on Switch.

#2: Skyrim - especially assuming that Breath of the Wild is delayed more than a month or two. I've put-off playing this entry to the Elder Scrolls series for a long time, but this game could last me quite a looooong time, and being available on Launch Day would be an insta-buy for me.

#3: A sequel to Zack & Wiki. Yeah, I know.. a bit out of left field. But I'd love to see a sequel. The original was amazing, and I'd love to see what Capcom could do with the Switch's unique features.

Damn, I forgot about Kingdom Hearts 3. Yeah, I'd pick that up day one. I'd also try Persona 5 as well.

The next DQ, next SMT, I'll probably get NBA 2K since I don't have a very good PC and no PS4/Xbox... and I feel there's going to be great 3rd party support from Japanese developers since this thing is portable too. I feel like I'm going to be in for a good time in that regard.

Pretty much everything as long as it runs smoothly and isn't a super cinematic experience, I'd rather play those games (like Mass Effect) on a PS4 (Pro). But other than that, EVERYTHING. I don't care about achievements or other PSN/XBL things. Overwatch would be amazing, as long as the player base would be big enough. I'm still hoping for real cross platform online play, that would seal the deal to get everything online multiplayer on Switch.

Can't be sure which other games I'd buy, but if Resident Evil 7 or REmake 2 gets a Switch version I'll be there day one.

Bad question. Way too many to list. Rocket League, GTA V, Red Dead 2, Sonic Mania, Resident Evil 7, Injustice 2, Tekken 7, Resident Evil 4, South Park Fractured But Whole etc

Too big a question. Too many old games I'd love portable versions of. And as far as third party games still to come out, pretty much any third party I'm interested in I would rather play on Switch for the portability factor.

Unfortunately, not many. I have a gaming PC and a PS4 and I don't play games away from the home, so the portable aspect of 3rd party games does not entice me. As with most Nintendo devices, this will be for Nintendo games only really, and traditionally handheld series like Layton and Phoenix Wright if they continue on the switch. I'd always try and back 3rd party exclusives though.

My first pick, and probably launch game, is Skyrim: playing that anywhere is a big advantage to me. Also, I think I will buy most of the third party turn-based stuff on Switch, so RPG factory's new game, hopefully Persona 5, and Dragon Quest XI are on my list. I may decided to double dip on some action games on Switch As Well, Like FFXV, if they are so good that I want to be able to play them anytime and anywhere.

A 3D Rayman. Or perhaps whatever a new Rayman. I was thinking of Skyrim but probably this goes to One for the mods.

lol whatever who needs third party when you have Mario 64 2 and Wave Race. This the return of N64.

Already released 3rd party games that I would definitely get on Switch:

Dark Souls 3
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Final Fantasy XV
Batman Arkham Knight
Tomb Raider
Persona 5

To be released:

Mass Effect Andromeda
Resident Evil 7
Final Fantasy VII
Dragon Quest XI
New Assassins Creed

All of them. I love the idea of having the choice of either playing on the TV, or literally anywhere. Playing any third party games on a static console would feel like a backwards step.

FIFA. No doubt. That seems like a awesome game to long sessions or just a quick game while waiting my wife at mall.

I really want to try Monster Hunter too. Seems like a great series, but can't find console versions and 3DS version I am not buying.

Japanese 3rd party games tend to be pretty interesting, so will watch what'll come from there.

Not interested in a lot of the Western stuff, quirky and interesting games will go in the shortlist.
-Ubi has only Watch Dogs 2 that I want to try maybe.
-EA games won't come most likely but if they can get those running and they won't be stupid ports (and too expensive) I am absolutely interested. Sports games are pretty likely. Ofc EA FPS games I would play on PC, superior platform for those...

Skyrim maybe, because I don't have to use Steam on Switch (only plus vs a superior PC version).

I don't know, must go game by game -basis, if there's interesting games I will at least consider them. I am quite picky with what I buy, so they need to have some unique stuff that I want to experience.
