TITANFALL 2 |G2.1| "Whatever The Fuck That Means"

I dunno, I have a pretty high win percentage from playing alone. It's a pretty easy game to carry.
That's only true if the other team only has 1 good player as well, if they have 2 or more you can't keep up. I have won a coup pole of those with 170+ pts, but usually if I score like 130, 150 or something they win by a slight amount by the end.

playing solo is a toss up if i win. i consistantly go 130+ in points in attrition and no guarantee of a win. hell i went 184 yesterday and lost by 10 points.

but playing with one other person, im guaranteed to win 80%+ of my games. and thats with me fooling around with different guns and titan loadouts

Usually the other team has no good players! It's like me with 150-200 and everyone else is lucky if they're pushing 80. Sometimes there'll be good players on the other team, but it's a shock more than anything.

I can't remember the last game I played where carrying was as possible. You can win a large majority of your games solo and with 1 friend almost all of them. It's a far cry from other games in the genre. Back when I played Destiny, all my per game stats were in the high 90s percentiles, but my win percentage was in the 20th percentile or something like that. It was fucking miserable to lose every game despite how well you played. TF2, in Attrition at least, doesn't feel that way.

Yup, I love that about Titanfall. I have an 80% win rate from playing solo. I should really specify that ATTRITION is easy to carry. Bounty Hunt is harder and LTS or PvP are very difficult to carry.

I mostly play Attrition and Bounty Hunt though.

I'm really hoping the patch delay is for some surprises. An early Colony release along with a totally new Titan, and extensive balance changes, or something like that would be absolutely amazing. If it's just Live Fire and a 2% decrease to Devotion range or something, it's gonna be depressing as hell.

Yeah.

It's gotten pretty easy to identify a shit team quickly and bail to minimize wasted time. Generally speaking, a team's breakout pattern, or lack thereof, will tell you whether they have any idea what they're doing, familiarity with the map, ability to read off other players, etc.

I'd wager all of my match quits are within the first 2 minutes. If the game is close, even if it's almost solely because of me, then I stay in.

Enh, I usually feel bad leaving because it's fucks over your team and the new person dropped in. Games are the perfect length so even the worst situations only last a few minutes. But yeah, it's usually apparent within the first minute or two how it's going to go.

I think this game died ;/

Lot of people waiting for the update

From the release date to the slow support, TF2 is kind of a case study on how to torpedo a quality product.

What if the update is secretly a free single player expansion pack, like that very first Call of Duty expansion, United Offensive? lol

There is a special place in hell for teammates who have Titans available and don't drop them to help out the Titans on the ground. I get not dropping them if the the other team has like 3 and you have one, you should save it till you have some back-up available.

But if your team has two on the ground, the other team as 4 on the ground, and 3 dudes are just holding on to their Titans, they can fuck right off.

Oh, there's also a special place in hell for people who leave friendly Titans to die 3 or 4 on 1. Its on thing if you're taking a flanking route an need the lone Titan to buy time, but if you're fucking off to the other side of the map to do who the fuck knows what, while enemy Titan after Enemy Titan is joining the battle against your buddy, fuck you.

/rant

I Titanfall'd the escaping ship :D killed everyone on board as they were leaving and in the sky haha

Nice!

I've been trying to do this for the longest time. It was relatively easy in TF1 if I remember, but now it's nearly impossible.

Unless you're a liar

update has to come within 9 days latest now

jayfresh on reddit said that respawn can't reveal release date because of certification, which i understand, sony and microsoft control their platforms and that's out of respawn's control.

but what i don't understand is why they can't reveal the release date for PC. if it's ready for pc then release it for PC or at least reveal the date. PC is by far the least played of the three platforms and holding back PC release for console certification surely does not help

Fair enough. I feel no obligation to take on the responsibilities abdicated by Respawn and their 'matchmaking'.

If they can't put together a competitive match, it's not my job to babysit these worthless farm animals in my valuable free time. It's not my job to carry them.

You can quit, earn the good performance merit and whatever weapon experience you earned, move on to the next match, until you find a match worth staying in to conclusion. Given the matchmaking quality, any impact on win% is irrelevant. Frankly, they should just show wins, losses and quits. The entire stat is pretty much irrelevant outside of those who always play with friends/teams/clans.

Last night I was put in a game maybe 10 seconds after it started in Crash Site. So when I went downhill just to head to the other side of the map through the ship on the right. But I got killed twice and got off to a really bad start. At one point we were down by over 100 points. But then I got going and we got closer and closer and then actually ended up winning without it being that close(475-431).

I ended with 188 after not really contributing much during my teams first 100 points. That was the probably the most bad ass I ever felt carrying a team even though my best game of all time(230) was due to me having to carry my team. Difference is that game was pretty even the whole way and didn't have the comeback factor this one had.

I just quit 10 matches in a row within the first 2 minutes on account of clearly shit teammates.

I still got credits on account of 'good performance' and the odd weapon level up, but dear fucking god, did Respawn donate thousands of copies of this game to special needs schools across the nation?

I've never played a game where the average player had less idea of what they're doing. From what I've heard from friends, 'For Honor' may supplant it as the king. But dear, fucking GAWD.

Even the people who understand the game mechanically play the game like their character is being chased by a swarm of bees.

All manner of running, jumping, wall-running and sliding in pursuit of nothing. They're not pressuring the opponent, they're not flanking, half the time they're not even shooting creeps, they're essentially running around in circles at warp speed, and feeding other teams kills to call in Titans.

Dude, seriously, WTF!?

I get it, you had a bad run, but it ain't the end of the world

Check that shit

Oh, JFC, is there any phrase for people with less than baseline brain function that somebody on this forum won't freak out over? I specifically avoid the R word since political pressure has changed it from clinical term to slur.

Fine. The vast bulk of Titanfall 2 players are stupy-heads. Better?

Zero interest in Live Fire. I hope they have something else too.

Also, I hope they have real patch notes and not just cryptic nonsense like "Tone adjustments."

eh, stay positive

It'll be a nice distraction... I need a break from Attrition/Bounty-Hunt as, seemingly, I can't find games anymore of Amped Hardpoint :(

I have never bailed on a bad team, especially as my stats say 8/10 I'll still win. I'm even pretty sure that the 2/10 I lose isn't due to my team being bad, but due to me having a terrible match because I'm tired or my gf is nagging me to do something.

I never see a match as a waste of time. I enjoy the gameplay. Winning means literally nothing. I just try to get MVP or at least top 3. If I manage that, then I'm usually happy.

You get a similar number of points if you win or lose, especially if you manage an extraction. Not really seeing what the big deal is about losing.

I've also had those amazing come back games. My favourite was when I came in at 2 mins left, immediately got my titan thanks to a good spawn. Then I nuclear eject killed three titans with their pilots who were focussing on the rest of my team. Felt fucking amazing, despite it being cheap as all hell.
Then there's the times you're about to lose with seconds to spare and you just kill a reaper and a few grunts to ping your team into the win. So many people focus on titans in the last few seconds, but AI stuff is the fastest way to guarantee points.

I actually played last night after not touching it for a week (work and Nioh). It's a great game that I genuinely miss when I'm not playing it. Went 20p 6t 0deaths. Then some cheap bastard killed me in the evac -_-

When i reach Stoic black with my Tone i'm going to change to Scorch. Every time i encounter a good Scorch player i'm always "omfg, he's eating my health away in no time". Usually don't have this against other Titan classes.
Going to miss Sonar and especially picking up pilots with the accuracy of the 40 mm.

Ended my LG97 try and while it's okay, changing back to MGL showed me clearly that it's way superior.

Also: yep, Devotion > Hemlock... (long distance)

This actually kind of bugs me. But when the K/D in the stat page says 1.5 or 2.5, is it rounded up or down. Or is 2.59 still 2.5 until you actually reach 2.6 for example?

I'll just be upfront about it. My K/D is 1.3 but man I feel like it should be higher than that. I started playing Attrition mainly when I hit around 4 days(barely over 10 now) when I was at 1.0. Not immediately but for a long time now my past 10 games almost always shows me at 2.0 or higher. Many times it's much higher than that. So have I really just accomplished a 1.5 or 1.6 the past nearly 6 days? It just bugs me because I feel like I've done better than that but the stats tells me I'm wrong.

I wouldn't worry about the K/D. It's not a great measure of how well you're doing. In attrition and bounty hunt a good player won't necessarily have a high k/d because grunts and reapers are also worth your time.
Sometimes I play just to kill enemy players for the fun of it, but it's not really the objective.

It's rounded up

at least I know it is for winrates etc.

I know that but I can't help it but care about it. Too many years of COD has instilled that in me. I just thought at my rate I should have been around 1.5 already, but that's not the case. I wish they did reveal how many times we've died just so I could find out for myself.

Well it would make sense if they used that for everything else. For days(in terms of time played) now I'm always seeing my last 10 match K/D around 2-3. Sometimes even 5 or up when I had a really good game. It just feels kind of disappointing that the overall K/D vs players has hardly budged after all this time.
