Amazon US Removes Zelda Wii U Search Listings

I never heard of hori doing premium before now.

But standard has worked for both my n3ds and wii u gamepad. Standard should be fine

I went with the standard Hori because it said it was going to arrive by Friday.

It's weird because I ordered the same thing back in late January when pre-orders went up for Hori screen protectors and there was still no estimated arrival. I would get an ETA via e-mail. Cancelled and reordered and got a Friday delivery date.

Thanks guys, was hoping standard would do.

As Sartre noted in his contemplation on Hell in No Exit, the true horror is other members.
GameStop posts above made me realize people's common sense and reading comprehension can be bad. Even if it's not worded perfectly it's obvious it just means that you have to pay for protection at a store if you want it.

I find the fact that anyone would think it means anything else kind of funny.

Not a GameStop fan and that is still a "duh" moment. It took me a second to realize why the person was complaining.

My common sense and reading comprehension is bad? You know that from this brief interchange? Neat!

I may have missed their obvious intent with the statement, but Gamestop's more-obvious obsession with selling a protection plan for a brand-new game netted Best Buy the sale, and they will ship it to me to arrive on release day.

I think the reason why there isn't a pre-load up yet is because nintendo doesn't want this out early. They had it up for a while, but people started to download it, so they pulled it.

With the Wii U being so easy to hack, they want to limit the chance the game leaks early.

Yeah, I think you're right. I hope it's at least up the day before so I can start as soon as possible.

Fuck Nintendo. I'm like a battered wife that keeps coming back for more. I've been trying to score a Switch on Amazon for a month now with no luck and now this shit? Did NoA screwed Amazon over again? I cant even preorder Zelda without knowing the'll ship it in a timely manner, if ever?

Nintendo, get your shit together!

Enough with the domestic violence comparisons. You not getting a toy on day one is in no way comparable to someone stuck in an actual abusive relationship.

I was planning of playing this on my Wii U and was going to buy it in a month or so once I was ready to play it. Hope this does not become an issue with other retailers

Best Buy's website still has them if you don't want to take a chance with Amazon. Its clear they are having issues with stock on the Wii U version.

Yup. Despite already having an Amazon pre-order I've also ordered through Best Buy. I don't trust Nintendo not to short stock on the version for their legacy console, and I won't be pushed into buying a Switch just to play the one game I felt I had to buy a Wii U to play.

I can always return the Best Buy copy to the local store if both come through close enough together to avoid cancelling either.

I did the same and I have the Switch version, I don't trust nintendo with that either.

I got an Amazon email this morning about it no longer having a release date. I expect I'll still be busy with Horizon well beyond March 3, so whatever happens I'm not personally too concerned.

I was just about to ask about this.

I don't see a listing for the disk version but the digital version is there to preorder. That seems pretty strange.

I work for a company that does millions in revenue on Amazon each month, they are extremely strict about their sellers managing listings and inventory as diligently as possible. Amazon does not provide flexibility if you need to make quick changes that can impact pre sold items. Based on what I'm reading here this is definitely Nintendo fucking up and making last minute changes to their inventory and listings. I wouldn't blame Amazon for this.

Yeah after this disaster I don't think I'll be preordering Nintendo stuff from Amazon anymore. They really need to speak up about what the hell is going on. Lots of people being screwed over by whatever fight or problem is happening between Amazon and Nintendo.

Is there any rhyme or reason to the people getting the emails or is it just random? I still have not and the order still says arriving Friday.

You really need to get GCU too so you'd get 20% off from Best Buy.

I really don't buy enough games to make it worthwhile. This is the last new game I buy for the foreseeable future. It's a good deal if you buy a lot of games.

get it from BB as well, then when your amazon copy finally arrives, return amazon copy to BB or just get GCU

That's a good plan. What is Best Buy's return policy?

I have a Switch, Zelda, and a Pro Controller pre-ordered from both Best Buy and Amazon because of shit like this. Heck, at one point, I had all three pre-ordered from GameStop as well, but I cancelled that order last week.

Knowing my luck, that's the one pre-order I should have kept and both Best Buy and Amazon will screw me over. I simultaneously love and hate console launches.

Can someone here buy me Zelda for Switch with their GCU discount after I send them an E-Gift Card to cover the cost?

I'm going to wait for another day or two maybe to see if Amazon fixes my preorder, but I'd like to have a backup plan with BB, and I don't feel like paying $30 for GCU right now. If someone can help me out with this it would be great.

If you had bought two games during the Visa Checkout deal, it would have paid for GCU and you still would have saved more money than Prime. Are you saying you don't even buy two games a year?

Edit. Crap, I already have 2 preordered I don't think I can do a third due to GCUs restrictions. : (

I preordered the Wii U version on Amazon months ago as a gift for my sister in law. She canceled her own preorder when I let her know I had it ordered already. It will be super lame if they can't deliver on release day.

Good news: my guide has been confirmed to be coming March 3rd!
Bad news: no word on my game...
I'm about to just give up and pay the extra money to make sure I have it.

It's ok, hopefully someone else can. If not, I guess I'll fork over $30 for GCU... but going to give Amazon a couple of days to see if they come through.

Do you think Zelda could sell out at Best Buy before launch?

Nope, not these days. I am going to get through my backlog first.

So glad I stuck to Best Buy for my Switch related needs. Dunno if Amazon is fucking up or Nintendo, but it sucks either way and I hope it gets sorted before release.

+1 I basically ordered everything Switch related I wanted from Best Buy. GCU 20% + VISA promo = No Brainer. Knock on wood there aren't any problems going forward. Hopefully Amazon gets their shit together before launch, but time is getting short.

It seems unlikely the Amazon/Nintendo problems this time are related to the their previous issues. If anything, my first thought was "They're trying to push more people towards the Switch versions and/or Zelda is selling really well/truly sold out". Other Nintendo games are available on Amazon, right? So its not a new falling out.

I'm honestly not a huge fan of Best Buy (had shipping issues with them in the past), but I think it may be time for me to re-join the GCU family.

My Switch and 1-2 Switch preorders seem safe still, but I'm increasingly nervous after this shit.

Going to fall apart if Amazon doesn't ship both on the 1st.

At this point in time, where is the best place to order a regular Switch copy of Zelda with the hope of getting it on release day?

Wal-Mart? Best Buy? GameStop? Somewhere else?

So? As the consumer facing part of the transaction it is Amazon's responsibility to communicate this with their customers. I preordered this game a year ago and mine has gone into this limbo status.

Nintendo is fulfilling a promise to realize the game on WiiU.

They don't actually want to sell lots and lots of Zelda on the discontinued system; they want to drive consumers to purchase their new system + Zelda, more.

So, if they can limit Zelda for WiiU - they can drive a more lucrative endeavor with Switch.

They promised to release the game to WiiU owners. They are.

They didn't promise to release lots of the game to WiiU owners.

End tin foil hat.

This is why I don't pre order on amazon anymore they've been overselling pre orders since they started their 20% off games with prime.
