Bill Kristol (I think?) made a similar comment on Axelrod's podcast a couple weeks ago: Trump has not yet internalized the fact that he is the president and can simply take action to see or crack down on things that are bothering him, rather than whine about it on Twitter.

He thinks its supposed to be someone else's job to take care of those things. He literally doesn't understand that the presidency is a job, likely because he hasn't had to actually do anything in decades

Hard to believe Carson made it through medical school sometimes.

He must have had history classes with this textbook

Yep. His 'job' for the past number of decades has been to self-promote and appear like a successful businessman. He has no skills or any understanding of anything. He watches TV.

I'm at least happy they actually call it the "Atlantic Slave Trade" instead of the whitewashed "Atlantic Triangular Trade" like some do.

Oh wow, I remember the triangular trade from my Texas textbook. It's been decades but I remember it. Wow I just realized how messed up that is.

He did the commencement speech at my ex's med school. He apparently spent the whole time thanking Jesus, so even Carson can't believe he made it. She was like, "wtf, Jesus had nothing to with me excelling here."

I'd like to see the bigger context to see what the hell point he's even trying to make.

"Working harder for less" Mmm hmm.

Well, that's only fitting because...

God Helped Ben Carson Ace His College Chemistry Final By Giving Him All The Answers In A Dream

But instead of studying, Carson fell asleep and had a dream in which he was alone in an auditorium as some “nebulous figure” wrote out chemistry problems on the blackboard.

“When I went to take the test the next morning, it was like ‘The Twilight Zone,'” Carson said. “I opened that book and I recognized the first problem as one of the ones I dreamed about. And the next, and the next, and the next, and I aced the exam and got a good mark in chemistry. It worked out okay and I promised the Lord he would never have to do that for me again”

Sec. Kelly confirms he is considering separating kids from their parents to deter illegal entry

Disgusting. Their long-term thinking on this is unbelievably misguided.

The Obama administration tried to detain the entire family even after their asylum claims were processed as a deterrent. That was stopped by a Federal judge.

https://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/21/...to-detention-of-families-at-borders.html?_r=0

During the influx of migrants last summer, the Department of Homeland Security started holding most women who came with their children in detention centers in Texas and New Mexico, to discourage others in their home countries from embarking on an illegal passage to the United States. The women and children were detained even after they had asked for asylum and passed the initial test to prove their cases, showing they had credible fears of facing persecution if they were sent home. Their petitions for release were routinely denied.

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh C. Johnson said the detention policy was devised to send a clear message to families in Central America, where most of the migrants were from: ”If you come, it is likely you will be detained and sent back."

What do you think will happen if they try to pull something even more egregious?

i didn't know until I was older that the South teaches the Civil War as "The War of Northern Aggression".

It's infuriating how the South lost the war and basically never actually lost a goddamn thing
