Super Mario Run available on Android right now

Just got the Google Play notification. Played through the first for levels and linked My Nintendo. Works well and without a flaw on my OnePlus X.

Not gonna pay 9.99€ for 20 levels though. For that price, the value doesn't seem to be quite there based on what I played here. Better wait for the next Switch 2D Mario.

Well that's one way to get people towards Nintendo consoles lol

On the one hand, it's a Mario game for only €10. On the other hand, might as well wait for the next full game. Have some mixed feelings on this one.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Two completely different type of games for two different systems. Assuming you are talking about SMR vs. Mario Odyssey.

It seems like a Mario lite edition. You're better off buying Super Mario World for 8 Euros ;)

Game has been shown up on my Googleplay frontpage for at least a month. They won't give it up lol

That was the preregistration.

Now that I've played through the four levels is time to delete the app already. Expected a bit more.

Ugh. Now I may have to try it out.

Moronic how long it took. It blows my mind that any major company would release on iOS and Android this far apart in this day and age.

Hmm... games shows up in Play Store, can launch just fine... then back to home menu every time.

Guess unlike FEH, SMR doesn't like customOS (but non-rooted) devices, heh? :p

Given that the game is on the wall art at apple stores, I think its safe to say that Apple paid for timed exclusivity.

So, I guess I can link the account to restore the date from my apple device, but not restore the purchases. Kind of lame, don't want to buy it again.

It's working on my rooted phone (Nexus 6P, otherwise stock OS), but I've got Magisk installed. (11.1, not 11.6 since it broke root detection blocking for me for the games that use it)

The purchase is linked to your Google account, not your My Nintendo account.

Can you try without Magisk to see if it launches or not?

Ok, download it. What's with the forced tutorial? I don't want to go through all the modes right this moment. Closed it after the Toad Rally.

If I uninstall Magisk it'll uninstall my root too since it has it's own root manager/hider. (So my phone would only be unlocked and have a custom recovery.) It launched fine even though I wasn't hiding root from it though.

I can still try it when I get home though.

Nah, it is doing a server check all the time and if the server doesn't respond it throws you back to the menu.
Really terrible always-online design.

It's relatively short. After that just some building tutorial. Then you can go on to play 3 more levels before you're asked to pay.

The price is relatively high for what you're getting.

Just remember, the longevity comes from collecting all the black coins in Tour and then Toad Rally. Simply getting through the levels, from start to finish, it super simple and barely even the real game.

I had $21 leftover from a bunch of Google surveys. Since I haven't had to spend a dime in Fire Emblem Heroes, I think it's worthwhile for me to pick it up.

Yeah, when it started the building tutorial with no way to skip it I gave up. Maybe tomorrow on the way to work I have more patience.

Isn't Toad Rally just replaying courses? Seemed a bit pointless. If you enjoy playing the same courses again and again, this might be for you. For me the main attraction in Mario games was always freeing the princess (and finishing all levels). Not into Highscore games.

Black coins are only in the paid version? What is the difference to the purple coins?

Toad Rally is semi randomised courses against human opponents (well, their scores anyway) and the winner amasses Toads of varying colours. Certain milestones let you buy things, like new characters to play with.

And black coins appear in all levels (in the free levels, too), but first you need to get all the pink coins, then all the purple coins, and finally all the black coins. Sometimes they alter a stage a little too.

The first impression about the Toad Rally wasn't that great. I guess because I wasn't really in the mood to try something new before even trying some "normal" levels.

I remember that sentiment a lot in the OT, and then once you've been through Tour mode a bit, you start hitting Toad Rally with your new-found skills and it really clicks.

Kingdom Builder always remains pointless, though, outside of placing buildings for new characters (who do play differently, which is nice)

Glad Android owners finally get to play. It's a great little game, hope you guys like it.

Is Toad Rally mode cross-platform? I'm gonna dive back in assuming I can track down one of the new iPhone SE models this weekend.

Is this your phone number?

Try calling it to find out.

Apple paid big bucks to Nintendo for (apparently) three months of exclusivity. Apple used the game on a bunch of marketing materials in the process. It's not like Nintendo just felt like being a dick to Android users.

I... Can't find it in the store. Probably because my phone is on a custom rom, fucking damn it. Gonna have to wait for the APK to be available.

It's worth a full buy. Toad Rally is fun and it is very challenging to get all of the black coins. I put somewhere over 10 hours into it.

Ha, no no no, no need to do it. Should've specified "without root hiding", not just without magisk. Thanks for the clarification.

I'll try to find a way to get magisk in there then.

Oh wow, i'll pass then, what's the point of a mobile game if i have to either waste bandwidth or play at a Wi Fi spot (or at home) with it? Too bad, it seemed fun.

I have no space in my phone anymore :'( I managed to free 600mo 2 month ago and without any new install the upgrades filled it already since then.. Fuck android.
