I'm sure its been brought up already but I wouldn't be surprised if the main reason Trump wanted people to watch this show was because of chyrons earlier on in the day on Fox:

What a wimp, he doesn't even have the balls to do this himself or through his WH. He has to do it through a random media person.

edit: also what is the freedom caucus? i just heard it for the first time maybe yesterday?

A caucus in the US system is a group of similarly aligned politicians that sorta act like a micro-party within the House. They're, far as I understand, one of the most heavily 'right wing in a corporatist kinda way' groups in the House of Representatives, and most importantly, there's around 30 of them. That's enough that if they don't vote in line with party, Republicans don't have a majority. Subsequently trying to keep them appeased, while also even looking at all like a moderate, is one of the most delicate balances a Republican Speaker must strike.

Ahem that's a TV judge sir. TV Judges are the highest form of Judiciary. Ginsburg wishes she could pontificate over bullshit of no consequence every day at 9.

So let me get this right.

Your president is too much of a coward to say anything himself publicly. So when he has something that he wants to say, he has to have it said through a proxy.

A proxy that happens to have a shitty show on a trash TV network.

And the way he informs the world about what he has to say is via a Tweet,

Stay classy USA.

The tweet also defeats the point of using a proxy.

Not only that but Trump went on about how hard Ryan worked and what a good job he did on Friday. Fucking coward. He is the worst example of a human being.

Fascinating. That dynamic must have flown right over Trump's head when he tried to bully them to vote his way.

Even if we take the assumption his boner was actually about this:

Then we have a US President who trusts the vague claims of a TV network more than he does his own intelligence services.

I want to see Ryan replace Devin Nunes on the HIC with someone who will actually go after Trump so bad. I have to think there's a growing group in the House and Senate who see Trump's usefulness is dwindling after his repeated failures.

Anybody can be president.

'Course they might suck because turns out it requires a big chunk of specialised knowledge.

Perhaps time to rethink the notion anybody should be able to be president?

I don't understand why there isn't a law only permitting people who have served X years as public servants to become president. Like, fuck, even a basic understanding of politics isn't enough

"I want to be clear," she concluded. "This is not on President Trump. No one expected a businessman to completely understand the nuances, the complicated ins and outs of Washington and its legislative process.

Then why the fuck is he president?
He is a (bad) businessman, he is not fit for the job, never was. When will people realise this?!

Precisely, a hospital wouldn't just hire a neurosurgeon based on how many people vote for him, regardless of whether he had never performed a surgery before.

How does a man with no experience just get to become president?! It completely and utterly makes a mockery of America.

The most hilarious scenario would be if his tweet was about those wiretapping claims but then after Bannon saw that he went to her and asked her to open the show with a Paul Ryan roast and Trump didn't really want to put Ryan on blast. Definitely seems more of a Bannon move.

The disgust in her voice when she talks about Ryan having experience. I have no love for Ryan, but when did having experience at doing a job become a thing to criticise people over?

What the fuck is going on over there.

CNN just talked about it. And of course the Republicans think Trump didn't know about it. Its his personal fucking twitter account.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!

Trump doesn't operate by normal means. He is a narcissistic egomaniac that expects everyone to bend to his whim through mockery and intimidation. It rarely if ever has worked in his favor. He literally weaponizes his cash flow as an intimidation strategy in business, often to screw over others for petty reasons.

The freedom caucus effectively is little different, putting inhumane principles and their little douchey club ahead of the country they were elected to serve. They literally only voted against Trump because the bill didn't go far enough to strip healthcare back to where any govt spending was curtailed. Trump is incompetent, but these guys are truly evil.

It makes perfect sense for Trump to do this. Any politician would do this tbh. He can't seem like the problem here, his whole Spiel to his delusional fan base is being the trade master, the guy who gets things done. Throwing Ryan under the bus would be perfect for him and for Bannon's little chess game.

Trump doesn't have a chess game though, he's just an idiot. Bannon may, but he's no genius either.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much

Experience = elite/insider = enemy of the people

It's much better to let a deranged gameshow host run the country.

They're pleading ignorance on Trump. What a joke. No fucking shit he's ignorant. He has absolutely no idea what he's doing.

Get rid of Trump first.

Bannon thinks in terms of good vs evil. The notion that his own side wouldn't embrace the god emperor as ultimate authority genuinely haven't crossed his mind.

See how he thought telling self serving beaurecrats to sacrifice themselves was a good idea.

Best case scenario:

Ryan starts the ball rolling on impeachment, then steps down. Hatch takes his place.

The FBI investigation comes back: Trump, Pence and Bannon all go to prison.

Hatch becomes president.

We celebrate.
