Personally I find it hilarious to have them close their eyes while the others are reacting.

Same here. It made, say, the reaction to Last Guardian's PSX trailer funnier. I also wouldn't want them to get spoiled on something they've been anticipating, that's half the fun. :p

Finally catching up to the last Frametrap:

I think the talk about people moving past games too quickly is perhaps a reviewer issue? Or maybe just the community you frequent?

The way I see it, a game like GTAV doesn't get a lot of talk on GAF or most other communities I frequent on the internet. And yet the game is still selling like hotcakes 4-5 years out. So the engagement is clearly there and it clearly eclipses most videogames that come out, even recently.

I'm going to chalk it up to the communities one frequents and I don't really see it as an issue.

Moving past games is just what happens in an industry that is always about the new hottest thing

EZA doesn't have to rely on clickbait but they still want to keep relevant with the latest things

It's just hard to balance between things unless you have something like Zelda which we'll be hearing about how it's completely changed open world gaming for a while

Otherwise there's really not much reason to go back to games unless its specific experiences related to a discussion topic or straight up spoiler discussions

Tail of the Sun started out as such a cool game, but having to go to the same part of the continent to kill the same mammoth over and over and over and over again is pretty lame. The character backgrounds and story progression Kyle comes up with is fun to hear though.

Yeah but the disappointment he felt when he realized that's what he needed to do just made the crunch at the end even sweeter. The Fan Art is great too! And the return of Ojly.

My worry is he's going to think other remote islands have a hidden bunch of tusks and spend a bunch of time exploring them (or dying trying to swim to them), find out they DON'T have tusks (I kinda assume they don't), and extend the playthrough another week.

I think it's a pretty cool game for its time but it's about time to move on.

I'm still up for a stream, maybe two if necessary. I really want to see that ending.

I just really hope that the other potential caves and islands he hasn't explored aren't devoid of mammoth tusks. Or that they keep respawning in that cave.

So jazzed to see Kyle is going to do a Snake pass stream Weds night.

Plus more FF6 and Xenoblade from Ben and Brad starts up kingdom hearts 2

I'm always so torn on Xenoblade. Ben is probably my favorite solo streamer but like him, Xenoblade is on my backlog so I never know how much to watch. Because at some point I do want to play it. I put in a couple hours years ago and enjoyed it.

I'll use a bit of Hubers description to try and be light on spoilers: it's about undercover KGB agents living as a regular family in the U.S.

It's really, really damn good.

Hah, fair enough! That certainly sounds like a setup with potential. I'll check it out some time.

It's a great concept but what really sells it is the fantastic set of characters backed up by great acting.

It's kind of crazy how quickly you get invested into some of the characters within 10-20 minutes of the first episode.

I finally decided to bite the bullet and start catching up on Tabletop Escapades. I stopped at episode 11 so I'm pretty far back. I'm watching each episode though and not just the "the story so far" recap stuff because I love experiencing their reactions as even minor things happen. The part in episode 13 where Law
breaks his arm on the jail cell
had me freaking out and laughing way too loud for how late it is.

Ah yea. A great moment. Getting caught up is a worthy endeavor. I find the show delivers every episode. Great stuff

I know there's a million other games and they might not be down with the bullet hell, but I'd love it for as many of the allies to play Automata as possible

Just so that it can get a fair chance at the end of the year instead of two people singing praises and everyone else having to take their word for it

Can't see it getting anything besides best soundtrack though unfortunately. Still, it's nice to just give props and have it be part of the discussion. Every year the Giant Bomb guys put stuff on the list that they know isn't going to win, but they say their piece on it and give it credit alongside the others.

I actually liked the smaller contingent for the group stream this week, could actually hear what everyone was saying haha
Yea but that game. Ugh. People voting for memes/jokes and not doing the proper research. They tried to make the most of it but I'm glad they bailed after an hour. I couldn't take another hour of it. It wasn't a bad but funny. It was bad and so boring and dull. It really didn't have much to work with.

I haven't seen the stream yet, but I assume the Horse Racing Game has won?
It must have been very close as Scott Pilgrim vs. The World has more votes at this moment and when I voted for Scott Pilgrim both had 39% of the votes.

Imo they should switch (after a while) to a different game if the chosen game is just not interesting for 2 hours (but maybe they did, I haven't seen the stream yet).

I will give it a shot (probably during the weekend) and if the game is too boring, I will just play a game myself and put the stream in the background.

Yeah I think this is a bit of a shame really. That said maybe the whole DLC after release support cycle can provide chances to bring games back into the discussion if people get into it. I def. wouldn't mind another big FFXV discussion once everything has released around and I don't even like that game that much, but at the same time that also makes it very interesting to hear opinions about.

Edit: P5 Embargo dropped @Ben is it ok to pm you a spoilerific question(related to localization and the main story)? You finished yet or still in the process of playing it?

Yay 3rd time streaming1-2 Switch, and apparently the audience chose this? At least they finally did runway :3 (Plus all the Huber gifs we're getting.)
And I'm almost certain they haven't done all the mini games. The plate spinning one is one of the better games that I don't remember watching them play.

I played the game last week. It was the opposite of a party setting. Besides trying the HD rumble only I and the person who brought his Switch wanted to play, and even he wasn't willing to play anything giffable. In the end I won every time but once which doesn't help in this game.

That's on Kyle not us, all the choices were bad. I'd rather watch a dumb/joke game rather than a mediocre one.

Then I don't think there is a problem. Kyle puts those type of games on there and people vote on them. If the majority votes on those type of troll games, they will play them.

Playing different games after a while is the perfect solution imo.
They should've just had the runner up ready and switched to that.

That's exactly what they did. They were making the Switch.

I guess as it was very close.

I have never played it myself, but I have seen people play Scott Pilgrim before and a beat'em up like that is not a bad choice for this type of stream imo. And it's not that I am a big Scott Pilgrim fan as before the game came out, I hadn't even heard of it.

But to be honest, I usually don't watch the group streams for the games anyway, so for me it's all good.

Next week's "Games with Gold vs. PS+" on the podcast should be good. Looking forward to hearing Kyle's views on Drawn to Death.

I am not sure he will be going into that one. I usually never hope for a game to fail and while I understand why Jaffe was triggered (although I totally forgot about that game and Kyle made me remember it existed), the way he handled that whole thing (very unprofessional imo) makes me wish his game fails hard.

That said, they are trying to launch the game the same way Rocket League was launched and I don't think that's a bad strategy at all. I don't know if it's going to work for Drawn to Death, but I do think it has a better chance than launching it for a price. If people like the game it will have a big buzz (which it currently doesn't have) and more people will want to play it.

They went to 1-2 switch because of me. Now granted this was before I knew they were going to do a switch repeat stream but I stand by my choice. It was a game that was entertaining and a level playing field. And one I felt Jones had a good chance at doing well. They stuck with it because they were having fun with the dice game and didn't want to continue the horse racing game. Which was the best call, IMO

The other choices that were voted on weren't bad at all. You could have had a lot of fun with either of the other two games that were up.

Those persona 5 reviews.

They're expected since the word of mouth was so strong when it came out in Japan but it's still good to see

2017 - The return of Japan

it really started late last year but still...

From twitter it seems Ben is not quite finished with the game yet. Guess I'll be patient before I drop my question in his pm box.

Also spoiler talks I want to happen so badly ranked according to my interest:

1.Nier:A
2.Persona 5
3.Zero Escape Series(I'm hopeless I know xD)
4.FF15 once it's complete

Like the Dark Souls III spoiler talk with a 4 people panel. I remember the talk being people waiting on Jones to finish it to record it but things got to busy I believe.
But still a good video to scratch some of the itch. Reason Uncharted 4 isn't part of the spoiler talks I really want anymore although I wouldn't say no to it :-x

I will say that maybe it would be best to move on to the next thing you'd want us to do a spoiler talk on rather than perpetually holding on for things. For instance, I know there's still been a few requests for Witcher 3, but it's been almost a year since I played Blood & Wine so I'd certainly end up talking about it in more vague terms since it's no longer fresh in my mind. To me it would just make more sense to move on to something more recent like Horizon or Zelda, or to make an effort to figure out who's going to tackle Persona 5.

Yeah I guess that's a really good point that spoiler talks work way better when people have it fresh in their mind and are closer to the material, unless one has like unreasonably good memory refreshing notes handy. Guess I'll put the Zero Escape one to the grave :p to be fair though 999/VLR just had a rerelease for it be somewhat topical. So fingers crossed for Nier and Persona I guess. :-x

I'd love a Horizon spoiler talk. Probably the only game in recent memory where the story has been interesting enough for me to seek out others discussing it.

Edit: Oh and Nier. Haven't beaten that yet though.
