I'd love to see Ryse used. Doubt it will.

If I was a betting man I'd say it'll be a forza game, gears and a halo title

I'd maybe replace one of the above shooters with Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Recent release (Xbox marketing deal I think?), can be compared to a wide array of other platforms (PS4 / Pro / Xbox One / PC).

Digital Foundry just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about pixel counting culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in IGN where you can become successful by being a shill. If you screw someone over on pixel count, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the image quality enthusiast public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Scorpio, nor will they ever trust Digital Foundry again. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Digital Foundry has alienated an entire reader base with this move.

Digital Foundry, publicly apologize and cancel the piece on Scorpio or you can kiss your business goodbye.

Best post on GAF.

This thread goes 0-100 and back to 0 every 4 posts. Just wait until Thursday and see what happens? All this speculation will mean nothing.

I don't think this would be too bad actually, but I think having a separate logo for OG XB1 and XB1 S is overdoing it

This would be so confusing for regular people.....

This thread is like 5% people overreacting to the news, and everyone else flipping the hell out over a few misguided posts and acting like everyone is insane.

People giving Microsoft a lot of shit for "nooo gaaaamez" and yeah they desperately need Japanese games on their system but I love how the following games somehow don't count, even though they will end up as excellent games in all likelihood:

Crackdown 3
State of Decay 2
Sea of Thieves

Voodoo Vince is also coming out this month. A new addition to my favourite genre on the system: puzzle games.

Indeed it's a crime that we never got a third game, Bioware is working on a new Star Wars game right?

RIP

I wonder why it never happened, the license was too expensive at the time perhaps and Mass Effect was the focus. Glad we got Mass Effect though.

Bioware did KOTOR, Jade Empire and Mass Effect.

Good times. Microsoft need to get back to original Xbox and 360 creativity.

Would be awesome if it's a hint for OG Xbox SC because that would mean more OG Xbox games would be coming but to be honest I'd rather have a brand new SC game. It's been a while. Have there been any rumors about Scorpio and OG Xbox BC?

Nope, not really.

Only tinfoil level stuff. I can tell you Code Mystics, a Canada-based developer specializing in work on retro games worked on Rare Replay in collaboration with Rare, and are also working the upcoming Phantom Dust port. The degree of their involvement on either project is not specified anywhere as far as I know, but I believe that its possible Code Mystics did the work on the port of Grabbed by the Ghoulies contained in the collection, and that's why they were a logical choice when the Phantom Dust port was started.

Now at this point, were heading into full on speculation territory, but I believe its possible that Code Mystics or potentially just MS might not just be working on Phantom Dust. As we recently saw with the first screenshot we got of the PD port, its very clear its not just a simple port, and neither was GbtG's. Both are enhanced beyond their original release, yet not enough to the point where we would start classifying it as a "remaster".

In related news, MS have found themselves in the position of needing a decent selection of games for announcement, all while they are sitting on this treasure trove of ancient IP from their earlier years in gaming. Releasing OG Xbox ports using the same method as these previously mentioned ports could serve a few purposes in solving this problem:

-As with PD, updating these games with the newest iteration of Xbox Live while also releasing them as XPA titles with crossplay at, lets say a $10-$20 "value" price, would do wonders for their current lineup of titles on PC, while also offering longtime fans and newcomers some much needed nostalgia, and finally providing access to games that really cant be played anywhere else.

-Using the sales of the games would provide a decent metric to measure which older IP's of theirs are worth resurrecting, in a time where they really need to bring some more blood to their lineup besides the usual suspects.

-If offered, could make Xbox Game Pass even more tantalizing. Combined with 360 BC, they could easily bundle with the upcoming Scorpio console and market the hell out of it. "All three generations of Xbox. One console"

Again, this is all just highly speculative guesswork. But it could be cool, and I think could solve a lot of problems they have in one seemingly easy and cheaper move.

Crackdown confirmed for 2017, but it won't be at e3 XD

So reveal on thursday, with a release date prior to E3?

Oh, and they reaffirm the power of the cloud tm

Holy shit you had me going "wtf" for a second. They hopefully go all out with this game at E3. The only reason to skip E3 would be if they'd show enough Thursday or Gamescom and have a brand new IP at E3. But none of that is the case.

Yeah I am quite looking forward to this game. It's been too long and Crackdown 2 didn't exactly scratch that itch. :)

Oft hope is born when all is forlorn.
what a bizarre way to reveal a console.

Should be streamed on xbox imo.

I'm going to laugh if it's just an 'article'.

In that case I don't even see the point of this. That's why I thought the tweeter was full of shit.

Dont you guys know E3 is just around the corner? And Spec is what everyone has been asking for. In depth look into the insides, is pretty fucking cool already.

I'm amazed how people can jump to conclusions on DF talking about Scorpio as being in Microsoft's pocket... There is some next level fanboy goggles on for some folks.

Hell, I'm just glad we can finally stop speculating and actually see what MS has in store.

I'm one of them "giving them shit" as you put it

Three game major announcements since Summer 2015, two Zombie games one being a timed exclusive, State of Decay 2 and another Forza Horizon, the third release of that series in four years and the rest of their talk has either been Scorpio , BC games, UI updates and controllers apart from the cancellation of Scalebound.

You may disagree but that's fucking weak in my opinion and I believe questioning their studio strategy and output isn't unreasonable. I believe Scorpio will be a really nice system but if they ain't bringing the games, like I think with all platforms, I'll keep my money.

Do you have any idea the state in which Kotor 2 came out like?
