I feel like I'm going to need a shower for even posting in this tainted thread, but this is nothing new. The PS4 Pro articles may not have had the "fanfare" (a tweet the day before), but DF was certainly given comfortable treatment, pre-release, at Sony HQ to do their writeup. How is that different from this?

The rumoured XBox One X name for Scorpio and the hardcore focus got me thinking.
Imo, the OG Xbox was the most hardcore [Xbox] console in the Xbox lineup.

DF is the absolute best place for this to be revealed. You will get everything raw. No PR spin on it. To me that signals confidence. I hope it turns out to be an awesome machine, and I hope they add awesome software to take advantage of it. I want to jump back on board and have experiences I can't have elsewhere.

They know it will be more powerful than the PS4 Pro and the fanboys are doing what they can to set the narrative that it really ain't.
Meanwhile, 90% of other posters, including Xbox fans are concerned that it won't be enough and the rest are thinking that MS are gunna blow us away somehow.
As if, MS doesn't just need to live up to their own hype, but they'll go above it. This thread went exactly as I expected.

Rallisport Challenge 2 is still worth playing, especially in 1080p.
My point is simple... you're talking about game that would possibly be multiplat later... and then listed a bunch of games that were less reliably exclusive than the games you threw up as potential multiplat defectors. Yes, some of them were exclusive at the time of release... but that is also true of Sunset Overdrive, or Quantum Break (and a Quantum Break sequel couldn't go multiplat). Point is, that some of the games you listed actually did go multiplat with their sequels, or even that very iteration... and most that didn't were simply because there was no sequel, but they probably would have if there were (Jade Empire, Jet Set Radio, etc).
You're really arguing the quantity of games, not the nature of their exclusivity, because a Ninja Gaiden and a Sunset Overdrive are essentially the same in that regards.
The Scorpio will automatically be the best place to play most multiplats also, like the OG Xbox was... so there's no point in mentioning stuff like Splinter Cell either, because that'd apply to basically everything that doesn't have DLC exclusivity tied to it.
I'm hoping for Forza Horizon 3 and Gears 4.
I'd like to see how much Halo Wars 2 gets improved
Also if there's any additional magic that comes out the Phantom Dust rerelease

That would be fantastic and unexpected too. They could bring back Crimson Skies to offer even more diversity in their library, a new Mech Assault could be made. And a new Splinter Cell going back to what it made it so great.
Have BioWare make Jade Empire 2.....sigh.....
It would be a fantastic scenario but I don't think this is the kind of MS we're ever getting back because there probably just isn't enough profit in it. Even though Phil Spencer did acknowledge that bringing back Mech Assault would be great not too long ago.

I'm really not concerned about future Sony or Nintendo coverage but seeing how DF is ok with being an advertising platform for a console manufacturer or just hardware in general definitely leaves a bad taste in people's mouths.
DF presents themselves as a pure fact driven tech outlet. That doesn't interfere with showing or analyzing any graphics card or console sent by the manufacturer - but the fact that they're acting as a promotion platform makes it look like this:
Gaming journalism and the often uncomfortably relationship to video game companies basically - that's a very delicate topic and why we see a bunch of genuinely concerned folks (calm down fanboys DF went from "360 bias" to "PS4 bias" - you go figure).
