We know about the gpu side, at least enough. But if they really changed the CPU from Jaguar to let's say something Zen based... this would freak me out more then another 2 tflops of gpu power tbh. I can see a 4 zen cores / 8 thread (maybe 2.6 ghz?) based APU with 6 tflops of gpu power indeed make 2160c/1800c@60 fps a reality, for some games. Of course price would be higher then 399€ for such a console, it could even touch the good old 599€.

Lets be honest here...Much like the Pro this thing will feature all manner of optimisations, offloading things elsewhere etc etc....And his FP32 nonsense is just that....

Its as i said yesterday, you can't just look at a TF number to gauge what's going to happen in a console environment ...

Pretty much as expected, I think some people are expecting a little too much from this. I would guess MS would save all the flashy presentation for E3.

Looking forward to it though, will be good to finally get some facts on what Scorpio is about and finally stop people posting over the top specs of what they expect from it.

If it is indeed zen will it be beneficial to go for a zen CPU in PCs instead of Intel especially for any Xbox/Windows exclusives?

There are going to be a ton of games held back because of the compatibility promise. Same deal as PS Pro. The gains from these games in Scorpio are still going to be minimized vs if it wasn't handcuffed to the X1. As long as developers always need to design a version that works on the previous hardware, they will make sacrifices in design that aren't always using the full power of the system.

As much as he pisses me off, I've said before onQ knows his shit. But he lets his Sony bias get in the way and it undoes all his work building credibility.

In that latest Tom Warren tweet someone says it's basically the next generation for Xbox.

It's not but it would have been pretty crazy if it was and for some gamers great news. At the same time absolutely horrible news for many other gamers though. If MS wants to stab their customers in the back they'd do that.

I'm expecting a total abandonment of that promise in a couple of years, especially once the PS5 rears its head.

Can't wait. Work firewall blocks DF, so I'm going to using one of our AWS instances to read this article & watch the videos.

There's always work arounds.

I'm in the UK and we're now on British Summer Time...I know the reveal is a little over an hour away elsewhere in the world but does the clock change mean I've already missed it here!? How far away is it here!?
