Microsoft to offer Self-Service Refunds for Xbox One & Win10

How is this going to work for telltale games where you can beat the first episode in under 2 hours?

I don't know why anyone would need this? I always make sure and check, double check and triple check all purchases on metacritic to make sure the game scores higher then a 97 or its a no buy.

another veiled attempt at winning back gamers by Microsoft.

It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan.
Wow, good move. I do think 2 hours is too much though. I guess there's a limited amount right?
Otherwise it means a 2 hours demo of every games ever...

This is not necessarily a bad thing for MS.

They can do it like Valve is doing it. System can monitor what games and how many times you do refunds and then restrict you if you are playing the system.

there is no possible way anyone could spin this as a bad thing for gamers. try harder

This is a great policy change and I hope Sony and Nintendo follow suit would be nice for digital to mimic physical in this aspect but I have never had to refund anything on any platform so I'm not understanding all the hyperbole in here.

Do people just blindly buy games still? I find that odd when you frequent and post on this site that you would still be so uneducated when making a purchase. Are there exceptions to this rule? of course (Can't always see gamebreaking tech issues prior to launch, but those are rare). But overall it sounds like this is a weekly thing for some of you.

Seems like this has bigger impact in the fanboy wars than anything.

Telltale regularly gives away the first episode of their games to encourage people to play them so this wouldn't be a huge deal. Do it all the time and MS will notice.

The rest of the episodes are sold as DLC/add-ons anyway so you couldn't refund them if you wanted to, or if you bought the season pass.

You should raise those standards. 97 is a garbage score.

They also have been having to try to get players back since Phil took over (he took over after their huge blunder). Sure, they're not in as bad situation now but they still aren't top dog (where MS wishes to be).

I wish people would remember MS is not a generous company when they are top dog and are very much the kind of company to see what they can "get away with" when they are top dog and feel they have no competitors. Yeah, they are being good now and I wish they would have some influence on Sony but I think people are having very short memories on to how MS tends to operate in general.

MS aren't good guys. They just are when they have to be. I mean I'm sure you can argue no company is a good guy. But some companies at least try to keep up a rep of being a good guy (CDPR) in order to get loyalty. MS doesn't run that way. Their MO is to try to get away with as much as they can and then throw money at the problem when they find what consumers will "deal with" the hard way.

Let me insert some negativity into the discussion

Brilliant move by Microsoft. This is exactly what they should be doing, offering obvious things that for some reason their competitors don't. It's how Sony got where they are this gen.

More of this please.

This is fantastic news. Microsoft have been killing it recently and are making Sony look practically apathetic by comparison. Hopefully they adopt this system for PS4 and Vita as well. Putting "NO REFUNDS" up front on the PlayStation Store is a huge turnoff.

Damn you guys are wound way to tight, I figured my post was so ridiclous nobody would think I was being serious.

this is GAF though, so..

honest opinion on the subject, this is great! more options for consumers is exactly what we need.

Sorry, There has been to much trolling lately so we couldn't if serious or not :)

Redstone 3 is the next update for Windows 10 and it will include a new design language code named NEON. Scorpio will also share the same design language.

There are no guarantees though in terms of delivering new features since OS stability of some newer features always needs refinement.

Was seriously thinking of jumping ship and going to Sony.....MS is doing all the right things currently.

All I need is a fall 2017 release date of Scorpio and I'm set until the next console release.
