I've been on this site for over 10 years now. Don't see myself leaving anytime soon. It has its share of problems but it's still the best community on the net I think.

I deeply enjoyed those Cruncheons podcasts. My favorite is when Drinky shat all over the Ouya, had me laughing.

what happened to the guy that thought he was a kitten?

He was good at Resistance. Launch PS3 was a wild time.

Damn we're old as fuck now. I barely remember posting here back when it was a shitty gaming age forum BB board circa 2002 or so. I used to get triggered by Drinky Crow, drohne, and all the rest back in the day.

I got banned once or twice for arguing with sonycowboy over system wars stuff. I think those are the only times I got banned. Now, I can't believe I even participated in arguments like that. To be young.

Looking back on the "arguments" over hardware during the PS2/gamecube/xbox era is some hilarious shit.

I think the newer generations have outdone us though.

you can't put a price on sparks
PlayStation 2 is better than Xbox

But Xbox has Halo. Good thing I never was a big fan of Halo cause you would have to wait a short 10 years to get buuurrrrrnnnneeeeddd

Ah - good old Drinky Crow. That Nintendogs thread will never be forgotten.

All you Drinky Cow fools need to learn how to read. It always was and always will be Drinky Crow. Get with the program or get out of this timeline.

I miss Mr. Angry Face.

I also miss the actual Drinky Crow avatar.

Yep, he is the progenitor troll.

Most people here don't even know that the "Believe" on the NeoGaf came from Drinky Crow on the Nintendo Revolution pre-E3 days.

That was a hilarious time to be in this forum.

Futami and Opa say hi.

Hahaha, I don't remember what the debates were about, but knowing me, I was probably defending the honor of Dreamcast in the face of PS2!

i remember JackFrost claiming he was Drinky's alt account, but i don't buy it

Drinky was truly a top-tier troll and a master of the English language

Xenosaga is what you buy when you CRAVE a third-rate technofantastic anime series uncomfortably distended across 40+ hours of crap mechanics with bad polygon puppet theatre substituted for the typically mediocre direction of an actual anime.

Xenosaga is paradoxically the most pure and most disingenuous of fanservice: loli/moe garbage colored up with throwaway references to Parcelsian Gnosticism and a literal-minded high school art student's take on Nietsche. To anyone above an eighth-grade level of literacy, it's quasi-physical torment. There's no real gameplay to speak of to make the usual high-concept low-execution frame of anime palatable, so you're really just stuck moseying some boggle-eyed tart in spandex lingerie down neon hallways between protracted cutscenes featuring underdirected anime puppets shaking their porcelain udders or flowing boybitch locks while spewing arbitrary acronyms or glib references to shit that wasn't even that clever when it was written in Latin or German.

Just ****ing rent Evangelion already and get it out of your system.

You guys remember when a particularly funny post was rewarded with a triple laughing emoticon, animated too? Good times

Opa-Age was hilarious as a place where everyone was a banned Gaf member and 90% of the topics where side talk of what was been talked here.

Why did Opa die eventually? Main person didn't feel like doing the site or did the community eventually bow out?

I miss MAF. And only partly because my tag was chosen in his honour.

Been here a long time but no idea how long. Previous board at least.

Enk

makes good threads.
bring back the Mario ROMhack threads

I would really love to make another GAF Creates or another extensive gaming history style thread again, but when I was making those threads GAF wasn't blocked at my old job and I could put a lot of focus on those. Now I can only read the .net version at my current job, but it's harder to make posts unless I'm at home or on the phone.

I have had some ideas of what I would like to do for future threads I just wish I had more time to spend to keep them alive and up to date. :-/

Too bad the Cruncheons is done with. Curious at Drinky's sincere opinions lol. He's been a huge portable gaming fan since the PSP.

Cruncheons is missed by me so much. It's one of the very few gaming anythings that is bitter to be good, not bitter to piss people off. A thinkin' man's bitter.

fuck me, time flies

I remember being one of The New Guys here. J-GAF, sales meltdowns, the reveal of the Wii, E3 2006, back when the Gaming Community Forum was pretty much "The WoW Forum".

That's a long, long, long time ago.

Oh man, nostalgia thread!

Joined in '06, was never insanely active, but had a heyday back during the original Rock Band thread. Still lurk almost daily though.

I believe we were the very first game to require an OT2! Or was that Halo 3?

Either way, a lot of the names here are a blast from the past. :')
