This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

Will Android / IOS games come over to Switch? Gameloft make some pretty cool games on mobile. On Switch the experience will be ten fold better. Perhaps Nintendo will ask for a good slice in the lucrative micro transaction system of these games. Great way for them to make extra smack.

Is that it, even with there being an Alpha 2 and 3? Also, doesn't Street Fighter 4 take place before 3? Although maybe they just wanted to have a more consistent naming scheme by then.
All the Alpha games take place before 2. The characters are clearly younger, plotlines are in thier infancy etc. It was a deliberate effort to define the games as being what took place before Street fighter II.

IV and V both take place after II, and before III.

How is Homefront: The Revolution? I understand it's become something of a cult game and was wondering if it's worth it for the sale price steam has it for right now (10 bucks).

Now that it's been all patched up it's rather decent. The main campaign is essentially an urban Far Cry, so if you enjoy those games you should have fun with it. I actually think the three story DLCs are the star of the show, as they go for a much more linear experience. The Freedom Fighter bundle (which includes the story DLCs) appears to be $13 right now, so I'd recommend getting that over just the standard game.

Thanks for the response.

I love the Far Cry games, so it's looking like I'll be grabbing this then.

So, I was just listening to GameXplain discussion about Ever Oasis, and found a beautiful sounding song playing in the background. It can be heard here.

I wonder if it's from Ever Oasis itself, of from another game? Because I wan't to hear that uninterrupted.

I don't really need a tag, but I figured I'd get one to make people jealous. Is it working?

Unconfirmed, but I believe some Steam dev's have leaked the sale date on reddit.

https://www.humblebundle.com/store/

Alternatively, Humble's sale has started already and runs until the 25th.

Can anyone remember exactly what games was it that had a female voice say:

Insufficient funds to build that

or something very similar , when you tried to build something but didn't have enough... funds (whatever material it was)? I don't know if it was Starcraft, some Command&Conquer or maybe something different, but can't seem to find it right now.

C&C: Red Alert(s) had the female voiceovers:

So guys, did I fuck up? I created a US account to buy a game from the PSN US store, got the code from Amazon, redeemed the code and bought the game, but the download gets truncated just at the start and it only says "Can't stablish connection" or something like that. Is it not possible to buy a US game with a US account from overseas? Did I lose $20? :( What can I do?

That should be no problem, so there's definitely something else wrong here. With PSN you never know, maybe server issues, maybe not enough space left on the HDD (from my experience everything below 100GB is critical no matter how big the game is...)?

I got a 144hz monitor and I was playing Borderlands 2 with all my settings cranked up to max. I have a GTX 970 and 7700K. The game ran pretty much locked to 144 fps.

But then I loaded up a co-op game with my friend and I noticed the FPS was dipping down to below 100 even below 60 sometimes.

Is that somehow related to my setup or is that due to network issues? I have a fiber connection its pretty fast.

Anyways I was just wondering what would cause that?

there's one thing I just never understood about BC not being possible on Ps4.

First off, Ps3 is overall less powerful than the Ps4, right? Even though Ps3's tech was more complex, it is not up to the specifications of the Ps4.

My understanding is, so Ps3's works as 1+9-2+10+7-22=3. It is complicated, but the Ps3's computing power, is 3.

And Ps4's is 3+3=6. Not complicated, straight forward, and more power than Ps3.

Is this an appropriate way to look at it? If not, what is? And if so, why can't the Ps4 do it? And by this point I suppose the engines for Ps2 and 1 are cheap, why can't they be included in the Ps4 either?

Because then they couldn't up-sell you on old PS1&2 games through PSN, and it would increase the cost of the PS4 hardware for little gain. PS4 is already selling very well without that stuff included, what is Sony's incentive for adding it in?

Setting up the production lines for outdated tech isn't free and they already have a solution they've paid a lot for a long time ago, one they can now make money off of (who knows whether it's paid for itself though).

There isn't a NBA2k17 OT, so let me ask here. Is shooting just plain, 100% fucking broken in mycareer now? My slasher can score 60 a game if I want, my center can do similar, but there doesn't seem to be any consistency with jump shots in this game at all. Add that to the mix of cheap ass BS that goes on in this game, and you get one of the most frustrating games I've played in a while.

You can't just simplify specs down to a single number. The PS3 actually is more powerful than the PS4 in a few areas, and that's going to hamper any efforts to emulate it.

Emulation is also very power demanding, and last I heard, you need roughly ten times the power to properly emulate an older system. Not sure why, or if the number is even accurate, but emulation is highly demanding for sure.

There's no hard number for how demanding emulation is, but yeah, emulation is very demanding on the CPU. Specifically, it tends to require high single threaded performance (an area which the PS4 and Xbone CPUs aren't exactly the best in).

Yeah it's a random ballpark number I've heard online. the point is, as you say, that it's not as simple as running an iso file :lol

Is Rafe from Uncharted 4 based on some famous actor? He looks nothing like his voice actor but I feel like he was based on a real person. He looks soooo familiar to me, but I can't place him :/

I dunno if he is based on an actor but the internet seems to think he looks like Jake Gyllenhaal.

Hey... Where should I get a memory card for my Switch? Size recommendations? It's a Micro SD right?

edit: nm it's a Micro SD I'll just get one on Amazon. Unless there's a secret cheaper place.

Why is units sold the most reported on metric in games? It seems kinda pointless on its own, especially now with many games having DLC and microtransactions. Revenue has its own caveats but it seems like a better indicator unless I'm missing something. Though I guess it's harder to track that from the outside.

Here's a question that might be stupid, how can you buy games from xbox.com using gift card codes?

I managed to redeem a gift card but don't know how to actually use the credits to buy the game that I want.

What do the red crosses on top of the board mean in puyo puyo (tetris)?

If you put a puyo in one of those spaces, you lose. Which is to say, you're allowed to put things in the rest of the top row, and even above the board if you can manage it, as long as you avoid the crosses.

Just go to the game and select purchase. Gives u the option to use a cash balance or credit card/PayPal

I want some games recommendations, I want RPG games with good battle system and boss fights for 3DS, I already played MH 4 & Generations

Also I want Dark Fantasy games for PS3/PS4/3DS/Switch , it can be RPG/Action/Adventure or anything, as long as it's a dark fantasy game, something like SoulsBorne and The Witcher 3 , I am also ok with games being dark without fantasy elements.

any recommendations?
