They're indeed event items, which also means they are more expensive to get too (750 currency each).
Also looks like Symmetra's new skin is glow in the dark.

Maybe terrible wasn't the right word. The skin is alright, especially when compared to his other skins - but it's not as great of a legendary as I would have liked after waiting so long for him to get one during an event.
Dva's emote out of mech is always her heartbreaker. It never changes.

His previous Blackwatch skin and this stunning Sentai skin are making me as a Zarya main very jealous though.

Because just like the Uprising event it isn't based on a real world holiday so it shouldn't be time limited. They also said plenty of new emotes weren't going to be time limited but I guess they only meant the sombra and orisa ones.
This is also a lot more expensive total than other events and lasts 3 weeks still.

Yeah, it really does suck how all the things worthwhile are all expensive, and so many of them are good. It does feel like they're pushing people to invest in lootvboxes more this time around. But what are you gonna do, they know people will buy them, and their argument could be that is just makes the items more rare and thus valuable. Who knows?
I'm personally not too hung up about skins I've missed, its something that you tend to forget about after a while and I still have fun playing the game with my friends.
EDIT: After cracking 5 boxes after playing for the day, got two legedaries in a row, first a Tracer dupe and then the new D.Va bae4eva skin. The Blizz gods have been kind to me.

Used to main mercy, still occasionally check out the Overwatch threads and subreddit, and all the talk I saw a while back thrashing Mercy and saying she isn't a viable main anymore turned me off of getting back into the game somewhat.
I'd like to hop back in when I manage to find more game-playing time but I just hope the game hasn't passed me by with all the new characters and shit.

According to my friend who basically only plays this game, "One Trick" Mercy players have been spotted everywhere. The streams I watch also mention this growing phenom too apparently.
I can't say anything bad against "One Tricks" (Stupid name really) because literally leading up to the point before I personally quit, I only played Zarya, like that was it, Zarya all day everyday.

I just today played a game where my Mercy was a huge part of the reason why we won the match. Who the hell cares what people say is "viable"—all characters are viable outside of high-end tournament play if you're good enough. And if you're not, then you're probably at a position in the overall community where "viability" especially means nothing.
That tends to be how events work, yes.
I've had the Dva skin 5 damn times now.

So I'm saying there's no need for them to be time limited unlocks since the only person controlling that is Blizzard. There isn't some universal rule for how cosmetics should be handled, hell most games add them permanently. Certainly not at the ratio that blizzard adds permanent cosmetics to time limited ones.
