I think he is talking about the new Berserks look which is terrible to say the least.

Typically an American studio is going to do storyboards and some key animation, but a lot of the heavy lifting is likely being done by a Korean studio.

Yeah, Castlevania doesn't NEED R-Rated violence, language, nudity, so him saying that makes me worried, for the quality of the content. I'm not saying Castlevania is classic, but it does have a certain charm and elegance to the vampire hunting.
Hopefully that isn't lost in the R-Rated as fuck production.
Having said that, I'm an animation fan so as long as the animation is good I'll enjoy the heck out of this even if it's just a castlevania themed train wreck.

It's not too hard to figure out what R probably means in the context of Castlevania, blood, people getting torn apart, more blood, lots of gruesome death, that means more blood and oh yeah, succubus or Camilla so probably boobs too. That's all it takes to get an R, nothing that we all haven't seen before.

I wouldn't see the problem. Lords of Shadow (the first and 3DS one at least) was on point with the atmosphere and art direction. Maybe you didn't like it as a Castlevania game, but the design/setting was fantastic.
The Belmont design in this trailer looks identical to Simon's design in Mirror of Fate.

So who's the dude who appears before the woman says "Who are you?" he's got a scar like who I assume to be Trevor, but on the other eye.
Not-Trevor kinda looks like the Curse of Darkness Trevor to me lol. Maybe they're both Trevor and the scar is just an animation goof

They look like they do in Mirror of Fate, so I'm guessing Trevor with the dark/blue hair and Simon with the red hair.
But it's a series entirely about Trevor, so no Simon? And Trevor's def more based on Curse of Darkness Trev

I think those Trevors look pretty similar. And unless they deliberately ripped off Simon's design from Mirror of Fate and gave it to a different character, that's totally Simon

No worries! Just really high hopes for the soundtrack is that is such a KEY ingredient here.
Yeah, that's Sypha and Alucard in the trailer for sure, though they opted to give him a more natural blonde hair colour instead of platina
It's like the best design of the whole series so it's understandable. However I also see similarities to his Mirror of Fate incarnation, especially the hair and coat.
