Campea is gonna take his Gadot hate to the grave

Legit reading this made my eyes hurt. I'm typing this and I see red and white stripes across my screen. Fuck you Campea

Patty Jenkins on a potential Wonder Woman 2

In the next solo movie would you want it to be set in modern day or somewhere in the 100 years prior? Like it could be set in the 1930s?

It is for sure – I’m definitely planning something more interesting using that period of time. Definitely, it’s the plan. I can’t say what it is! But it’s definitely right in the pocket of what you’re talking about.

There’s so much to work with there.

Exactly! That thrills me.

She previously mentions bringing Diana to America as part of her being an international hero.

Another mention

Are you going to do the invisible jet? That seems like a difficult thing to pull off in a movie.

[Laughs.] I’m gonna do it! I’m going to find a way!

On Superfriends it’s just her sitting down as she flies through the air. It’s a weird visual.

Totally. Yeah, I turn that question in my mind all the time, but I will figure it out. I approach it with this belief system: When we first talked about doing Wonder Woman, somebody said to me – nobody involved with the film, “How are you going to make her cool? All these things are so cheesy.” And I said, “Describe to me any superhero who has ever had a movie made out of them and they are all ridiculous until somebody makes it cool.” We will find a way to make a cool.

Or maybe we can realise that it's his opinion and leave it at that. I have an unnatural hate for anything Michael Cera is in.

I dislike Jai Courtney a great deal.

Terrible actor.

I will acknowledge that Jai did a good job as Captain Boomerang. Doesn't mean I have to like him, but not gonna rant about the movie saying he was decent in it and could have been better with someone else.

I'm torn between wanting to stay in the past or coming to the modern day. The film leaves it open for her to do either. Staying in the past feels WW as a series able to have a very unique feel from other superhero films. Conversely, there's so much you can do with this Wonder Woman in the modern day.

I really want a modern WW, something akin to Marvel that might play off of JL. But I can see the appeal of having her own solo movies completely separate and in the past. Really I just want more heroes in more movies........

I would like to see more of her in the past... especially working with the not-Howling Commandos and Etta.

And we get modern WW in Justice League.

But also wrote themselves into a corner with saying she left mankind at some point 100 or so years ago. It would be weird to see her still hanging around during like World War 2

I'm uncertain as well. Another benefit of keeping her in the past is letting supporting characters stick around.

I could see a story that jumps between time periods. A past catching up with her type story. You get vignettes of Diana and friends across the decades; they grow old while she doesn't. I don't know.

Depending on what Justice League does, one subject they could tackle is
Diana returning to Themyscira.

Both could honestly work, too bad that the DCEU doesn't have any leeway for a Justice Society existing.

I'm still super salty that DC is only gonna have one movie next year and even then, it's not until December.

Kinda hope they do get Sirens up and running for an August 2018 release. If Sony can get Venom and Black Cat movies out by October, WB can get theirs out too.

Guessing Sirens is 2019. Funny to think there's over a year gap from JL to Aquaman, but 2019 might get nuts with all the DC projects. Even Aquaman is Christmas, so its run extends into 2019.

No, Batgirl was going to be their next solo women-led movie.

It's possible. Batgirl is a smaller project than GCS. Whedon helping on JL pushes its time table back but who knows. Maybe he could get it done for 2018 as well.

That fucking Campea has really soured me on WW.

He was super positive about it and everyone else is too lol, after BVS and MOS, we should all be over the moon with this reception

Nothing wrong with having an opinion. Having a years long campaign against the casting of an actor is a bit much for me though. I don't like Seth Rogan, but if he were casted in a movie I was anticipating, I'd be like, "Oh well. Bummer."

Sometimes it's the level of response that's more concerning than the opinion itself, ya know?

To be fair, if in your case Seth Rogan came up or in my case Cera came up, I'd tell me friends, oh man f that movie or most likely ignore it... but then when you're covering films for a living and have to comment on a news topic, I can see why it's coming up. Make no mistake, the show is very opinionated and that's pretty much how he wants it (a bunch of friends just kind of shooting the...)

He had the same view with Channing Tatum and he's come around to it as well. I do agree that the whole "well it would've been better with someone else" is a little questionable and digging his heels in... because the film is good, she's the lead, and she's good in it. She's clearly a good fit for Wonder Woman so I'm not sure a more talented actress would have been a better fit. Fit is more important than talent.

The Scarface remake is going to keep Ayer busy until late 2018, at least. GCS isn't happening for a while unless he drops out.

I know a few people go either way... but that wait is going to be a lot easier if JL and AM are amazing.

Just imagine if after the all the review hype, critics still went and 25%'d Wonder Woman. lol

Lmao

Even if critics are lukewarm on it tho, going by the type of light hearted hero movie it is and reading the impressions I think the floor for this will be RT in the 60s/70s. It will be a much less divisive movie than Snyder's stuff has been.

DC has like 15 movies in pre production, they can make room for patty. Hell they could even make it by august of next year.

I think it'll get and 82 or 83. But a 90% is possible.

How RT% works, I could see it high percent, middling average / meta. The negative leaning reactions have been lukewarm; not sheer hate. But who knows. The one hate reaction I've seen was from a super skeevy dude, and another felt it was it was very mediocre, which is fair. No movie resonates with everyone.

No way. This is hitting 95% or I will cry myself to sleep for weeks. Rotten Tomatoes is everything and I need it to validate my opinions.

Micheal Beach more or less confirmed that he is playing Black Manta's father. I guess it was already confirmed when he had a stunt actor.

The Alamo thing is my favorite thing about the lead up to this movie. Anything that makes guys like that mad is A-OK with me.
