I'm like just now catching up on EZA material since I was traveling last week. I just watched Noodles and Broth and I love it so much. For me personally Jones had the tastiest soup. He sold me on State of Decay and I wasn't even interested in it, plus Spider-Man hype ofc.

Did anyone share their personal ramen they would present to Ben? If we're subverting the obvious and going with things that intrigue us I'd like to go with Days Gone noodles and A Way Out broth.

Guests, sure.

Interviews, absolutely not. That's not an EZA specific thing-- I get no enjoyment at all out of most interviews done at other sites.

Some of the Huber Syndrome interviews from the conferences last year were pretty great. Were they informal and Hype-centric, sure. But I enjoy Huber's Hype and he spreads it around amazingly on the conference floors. I haven't caught the last episode yet but I'm Pumped for the E3 floor footage.

If I was using things I played at E3, I'd probably go with Ni no Kuni II noodles and Everybody's Golf broth. That's a combo that'll warm the soul, that is.

Watched Trailer Jones for the first time. Never saw the GT stuff before.

A 6.8 for God of War...

Well, that's enough EZA for today. Don't think I'm interested in watching anymore Trailer Jones.

I've just watched it too but I'm actually quite amused. I enjoyed the God of War trailer but Kyle's gonna Kyle and he's gonna stir the pot. I don't agree with the score of course but it was fun to watch/listen to Huber fight back. Definitely excited for the show

LOL. I understand your sentiment, but you are well acquainted with Kyle™ already. As Jones said, there won't be back-to-back trailers commonly for Trailer Jones so those incidents may be less isolated when focused on one single trailer for the segment.

It was too much for me. It came to a point where his analysis for why the trailer deserved the score he gave it was so alien to me, so entirely unconvincing that I thought, "wow, this is like one of those shitty hot takes that people do on Twitter." And I generally really like Kyle's craziness because it's usually pretty understandable to me. So the lack of understanding here was a, "woah, I'm out" moment.

Ah well. Plenty of other great EZA content for me to enjoy.

I mean, I'm not saying that you should watch upcoming Trailer Jones. But it's odd to dismiss the show for one persons opinion on one trailer, if you otherwise dig the concept of the show.

Looking forward for Kyle's reviews on those Battery energy drinks btw that the Finnish ally sent. I'm Finnish too and have been thinking if I should send some Battery to keep Kyle awake. It always hurts to see him needing to endure the taste of those Red Bulls, yuck!

Tabletop is on episode 62 now? Around about episode 11/12 I missed an episode, and then another, and then another and it just all spiralled out of control. There's just no chance in hell I'll be able to get back into it. Even with that brief recap episode I know they did a while back.

Is this series coming to an end any time soon?

I'd love to start watching the show again, but it being at 62 episodes is just far too daunting a task.

Couldn't they do more manageable stories? Like 20 episodes for each series or something?

Haha I was the same way. I was watching it live and saw Kyle give it a 6.8 and I immediately closed the Twitch app on my TV.

Kinda relatable. The nitpickiness can be really grating, but you just have to remember that's basically what the show boils down to. Once you remember that, it can be enjoyable listening to what they have to say about the art of trailers.

Stop. Don't make it more manageable, this has been epic. You can watch an episode of your own at your own pace one a week and have your own stories. It shouldn't be watered down because people miss an episode.

They even did a catch up episode at one point.

Concept is mostly fine but I was listening to it vs. watching it, so I feel like some of the draw was lost.

lmao. SCORES!!

?

For me, it comes down to a time vs. content issue. There's a lot of good EZA content to watch, so I'd personally prioritize the stuff that's more agreeable/enjoyable.

It's whatever. Just my two cents.

I don't really get this.

Someone thought a trailer wasn't as good as you did so you stop watching?

I don't really get this.

Someone thought a trailer wasn't as good as you did so you stop watching?

No. Let me explain my view. Having never seen a Trailer Jones, this was my first exposure to it. The first two trailers that played, they basically outlined their thoughts on them and gave a score. I thought, cool, this seems like a good listen.

When Kyle said, "oh Jones, you won't like this score of GoW", I thought cool, more Kyle craziness. I can't wait to see what he comes up with. So, I have no issue with the score. But the reasoning was so weak. It wasn't even the typical zaniness I've sort of come to expect from Kyle that is enjoyable to listen to. The reasoning felt like someone was given the task of defending a low score. Or like some terrible Internet hot take. And I haven't really thought it any Kyle opinion before in that way, so it was a bit jarring.

And if you don't agree with my take, that's fine. But in the end, it comes down to time management thing. I have limited time to watch EZA content. If this was a pilot episode for a show, going mid way and seeing a giant red flag makes me think, "huh, I'll stick to other EZA programming."

People really are so caught up in their own bias.
It's so funny cause I see a lot of people complaining about scores around gaf do the same thing for other stuff at one point or another but of course they lack the self awareness.
A bit of self introspection wouldn't hurt. Like everyone complaining about a score I implore to think back on the last wildly popular game they totally didn't get into to the point where they would just argue against it not absorbing a single thing from the people trying to articulate why things are compelling, before they throw a self righteous dismissal around.
I honestly don't see what's so difficult to relate on where Kyle comes from based on what he said. I don't agree with it but I do understand where he comes from.
Stuff like the vase being one of the most interesting things to him and why the action retreads don't resonate, I don't feel like that's that weird to be honest.
At least it's a far less contradiction prone view on things than P5 MC was too cool(which I accept but I also totally think if you did the research you could totally corner Kyle on it being likely not a consistent stance/reason), his GoW reasoning was very Kyle for a person that is so much into the context of things and based on the things he mentioned last year that got him on the GoW train.

The newest trailer honestly had less of the qualities that brought the people in that weren't on the GoW train based on the previous games, to me this trailer very much appeals more to the old guard. It felt very much like "look we're a bit different but we also have all the things you loved about GoW before".

Primethius is not offending anyone, just gave his two cents. It's fine.
Kyle isn't even the most nitpicky when it comes to scoring a trailer, Jones will blow some heads at times, lol.

One, not complaining about the score. Two, if you'd like to point out where I've done that anywhere on GAF, be my guest.

Eh, Kyle purposely acts like Armond White. He's by far my least favorite of the group but because he's in everything I just have to deal with his presence. Ignore him.

Yeah your disagreement is totally not score motivated and that's why it was your knee jerk reaction? Sorry doesn't add up. Also no I don't intend to point single things out cause that is sadly just a ticket into toxicity arguments I don't really care for. It shouldn't honestly be too hard to figure out with the process I outlined for people that felt like this general statement was addressing them.

Find game you didn't like that everyone else does, read your own stuff on that and take the self introspection how that measures up to how others viewed your arguments in similar fashion to how you view Kyle's. Simple really. Or at least consider not to continue throwing stones in glass houses if the former is too much work.

Here is some shitty hot take from me how about instead of getting so upset at alien opinions that don't hurt anyone to dismiss them we actually approach things in a manner of trying to gain better understanding of each other or if one doesn't care for that at least live and let live instead of trying to make it seem like there's 0 merit in a view that doesn't mirror your own.

The funniest part of that video was Ian's input ,the cgi trailer got me in Gow did not(me :"but what if plays like those games you don't like?")

Kyle:you not on the Gow train with us?

Ian..: o..O no

Lol

Edit: it most certainly wasn't that serious of a post for that reaction

That's not my only post on the matter? I clarified in several follow up posts. The initial post is just one of those ways that people sometimes express their shock at something on the Internet. Instead of saying score > *close video*, I could've posted a Drew Scanlon gif.

And as for your second point... ummm, okay? Tried thinking of some, and nope, nothing comes to mind.

Dude. Where did I do this? Did I say, change the show Jones so that I can enjoy it! Did I say, Kyle, don't hold that opinion!

Where did I do any of that or anything similar. I expressed an opinion on a piece of content and moved on.

I bet when you posted that you didn't think you'd be debating about it so hard huh lol

I call that the neogaf effect

If Huber was officially on the panel you gotta know he's giving the Mario trailer 6 out of spite.

lol, right. I'd still recommend checking out the real episodes as they won't be long, but he hasn't said anything crazy. We don't expect everyone to be into every single show we do.

1. I'm unsure what you mean you only basically provided why you can't relate with the score given. Arguments you make are about how the score isn't justifiable to you.
2. Like I said 0 self awareness
3. "The reasoning felt like someone was given the task of defending a low score. Or like some terrible Internet hot take. And I haven't really thought it any Kyle opinion before in that way, so it was a bit jarring."
That totally doesn't read dismissive. /s

I'm sorry but from my experience when people go into something with the intent of gaining more understanding their attitude would be very different.

Same I'm only expressing my opinion on your opinion here, and I basically I already explained why I find that attitude a bit confusing when it's really not that hard to understand Kyle's perspective on the trailer. But I too am ready to move on, as it's getting into a squabble between us two when my statement was motivated on a very general observation as someone that is getting to a point where I recognize names popping up here and there again in different threads.

Edit: And let me add to that I don't consider myself to be a bastion of consistent logical views, I'm sure people could corner me on things I've said as well.
But I want to try when that happens to at least consider if that inconsistency makes sense or not especially when it's more critical to something.

Yup I don't watch a couple they aren't my cup of tea(thread plz don't hound me on that) still love most of you guys content. Now get Ian to organize a full eza kill your babies

I also have a confession I closed a Q&A video once because Kyle said he plays nier with the music off

Kyle kills Shenmue, first round.

Huber, skipping 3 people before him, immediately kills Tetris.
Huber: Shenmue is revolutionary

Kyle:it's not needed like Tetris is

Huber: all you're doing is dropping a couple blocks on each other

O god I need it
