NBA Playgrounds |OT| More entertaining & less predicable than the NBA play-offs!

Did they ever release a patch on Xbox so you could invite and play with your friends online? or even in the tournament mode?

It's one thing to be frustrated and bitter but it's another to be irrational spewing nonsense.
They're not abandoning shit.
I just hope that they have a plan for the next updates after this one inevitably hits.

Yeah that was a tad hyperbolic (my apologies). I guess it’d be more accurate to say that it’s temporarily put to the side for now as Saber figures out what to do. I really liked this game which is why I’m so disappointed Switch didn’t get parity with the other systems (at least yet).

It's all on Saber. They've done a terrible job communicating to fans. They are radio silent now on Twitter.

Shaq Fu? I don't want that. I wanted an arcade basketball game. I'm requesting a refund.

According to a user on Reddit, he was blocked on twitter from Saber simply for asking “When will the patch come for Switch users?” They’ve been deadly silent for over a week now, I stand by believing they’re not going to do shit all for the platform.

At this point they should just pull the whole game from the eshop and re-rerelease the updated version with different file size, fees for them be damned. It’s been 60 days now.

They said they would go silent until they had a firm release date for the patch since there had been so much backlash in response to their "hopefully next week" replies.

Sorry, I didn't see them say that. I just find it weird that they're ignoring everyone on Twitter and actually blocking people who ask about it now (if that's 100% true).

So doesn't look like the Switch got any of the new players or tournaments yet with this update....so hopefully that is a fast follow.

Does feel like the un-docked resolution is improved - not sure exactly what it is outputting at now though.

The shot timer is useful - but 3-pt shooting has been made much harder IMO. Not nearly as easy to just go out make and rain 3 pointer after 3 pointer.

Haven't tried online yet.

Also it looks like the patch size was 2.1GB. Full size of the game now is 9.6GB - so don' think this ended up shrinking the game size in the end.

Tried it

Loading seems a bit better ?

Docked resolution seems sharper. As well as undocked. But don't think it's native for neither of them though. Biggest improvement is docked imho

Solid update

Yea they said it wouldnt get everything in the first update, but the fact that they finally got one update through must mean what ever the hold up was is fixed, hopefully next update is already in que like they said

Does anyone have patch notes, or at least the full version of the update note on the Switch that Vooks posted? It got cut off toward the end.

Edit:

Many thanks for the continued support! We have the best players in the world and we are privileged to serve you.
Update 1.1.3 for Nintendo Switch brings the heat! Online is here at last. Play online, compete is ranked matches for top spots in the leaderboard and challenge your friends, enemies and other players. Game on! With the new Challenge feature, you'll be able to directly challenge another player to a game on the Playgrounds. All you have to do is agree on a code, open the online mode, switch to Challenges, enter that code and face each other.

In response to great feedback, we've also tweaked the entire shooting system from jump shots, to threes, to dunks, layups, and everything in-between. We've redone the timing, added a meter, and clarified the entire system. Keep those comments coming!

As a big thank you to our rabid fans, we've also added 15 new players, including Isaiah Thomas and Dennis Rodman! Those two all-stars and 13 others can be unlocked regularly through player packs, earned during tournaments or when leveling up your profile.

Edit:
I found a list on Prima Games website that I think lists the 15 players we're getting in this first patch...

  • Dennis Rodman
  • Devin Booker
  • Gary Payton
  • Giannis Antetokoumnpo
  • John Starks
  • Isaiah Thomas
  • Kemba Walker
  • Kenny Smith
  • Klay Thompson
  • Larry Bird
  • Pete Maravich
  • Seth Curry
  • Tiny Archibald
  • Tony Parker
  • Tracy McGrady

Finally!
And it turns out I'm not as bad as I thought I was!

Shooting is easier, now I barely miss any shot, despite playing the exact same.

That alone was worth the wait. Loadings are a bit faster too. Really happy.

Yeah, it's definitely better.
I can't tell you what the resolution is now but it's a very noticeable improvement.
As is the rumble and load times right before a game.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
I'd sincerly love a video about all the differencies between the pre-update and the post-update versions. Where's Digital Foundry when you need it.

Nice. Those plus online play is all I wanted. Can't wait to download the patch and start playing again, I put in 10 hours in the first four or five days and have had zero reason to boot up the game since then.

So the rumble no longer makes a super loud "Weeee" noise at all times when joycons are attached to the system (basically rumble at max)?

I liked the game, but that was a deal breaker. Didn't even finish a full game... :/
