SFV - Abigail Reveal Trailer

"If you don't like him you just wanted a waifu to fap to!" is the dumbest of takes. People are allowed to not to like things you know. It doesn't have to be so cynical.

I will agree with others that his name being Abigail is one of the best aspects about him

This probably my least favorite fighting character design, except maybe Hsu Hao.
Hes so disgusting to look at, at least make his head bigger.

It's like Hugo redesigned by Rob Liefeld. It's so out of place. How do you even get there, all of the ways to depict that character and tiny head with shoulders swelled to bursting is what they went with.

Gameplay details

V-Skill: Hungabee
Abigail thrusts his sizeable belly forwards (either high or low) countering the opponent's attack and setting himself up for a combo opportunity.

V-Trigger: Max Power
After popping his two-bar V-Trigger, Abigail can charge up his four different heavy punches for one hit of armour and extended juggles. A full charge will break the opponent's guard.

Critical Art: Abigail Special
Abigail slams his opponent with a downward open-palm strike that puts them into a daze. He then hoists them into the air, pummels them like a makeshift speedbag before launching a savage hook that shatters the screen.

It's sucks since gameplay wise he seems pretty cool. They really could've done big muscle guy and made it look better. I think if the proportions were more normal it'd be fine

His alt costumes help a bit

When is the next Rufus riot scheduled?

Hey now, that doesn't apply to bootyass characters like him and El.

This makes me wonder how many of the newbies could become franchise mainstays. RASHIDO I think has the highest chance of being part of SF's iconic lineup, then Necalli and Laura. From S2 I think nobody so far.

I think Ed and Kolin have a good chance. Abby, probably not.

Battle costume looks like a borderlands villain, but I'll take it over the vanilla design.

Pretty cool we're finally getting a Canadian.

The tires on the arms I get. "His arms are SO BIG he can wear tires on them." Point made. The ass pad tires though...I just don't get it...

I like how This:

Reminds me of Boss Fang from FOTNS:

Even if only just a bit. I don't mind the Tire Motif that permeates all his costumes either, he DOES work in a scrap shop, and the makeshift armor from spare parts feels much like the underlings in FoTNS as well.

Interesting to hear you could see the sunrise in his stage. Sounds like something they'd save as a later fight money sponge, rather than have as a mid-match transformation.

I get there's the whole Capcom persecution comolex alive and well in here.

Get this salty fan boy shit outta here and go play that trash SFIV. Nobody cares.

Watched the Trunks trailer right before seeing this.

I don't know what capcom is doing anymore.

Releasing a character that is refreshing and doesn't look generic as fuck? Comparing DBF to this is like comparing apples to oranges.

I feel like they're getting kind of lazy with the vskills :(.

Applications are going to be totally different regardless of the type tbh. Akuma won't be able to use his as freeform as Abby will be able to because of the health deficit but he gets actual combos off his. On the flipside Abby gets to not worry about lows and just spam it lel

Making brand new, memorable characters that don't already come from insanely popular anime or other fighting games?

I mean, releasing Trunks or putting Geese in Tekken is low hanging, safe fruit. Abigail was a risky new design, and I'm glad Capcom has the guts to experiment.

What's hilarious is how you're out here still trying to be Clark Kent towards this game and you won't let anyone's negative opinions of it be their opinion. If people dislike it then they can dislike it as they have a right to. Secondly, nowhere did I say a thing towards success, I said that there's more dislikes than likes and that's a fact, more people even dislike it in this thread than liking it.

I stick by my statement, seems the dislikes have only gotten worse. Yikes lol.

You clearly have an agenda and you using YouTube comments and dislikes to back it up is even more hilarious. Nowhere did I say people don't have a right to express their opinion or can't like him but when comments on YouTube don't even discuss the character and start dumb, salty, flame war bullshit, you just know not to take it seriously. YouTube dislikes lol. Bunch of damn 14 year olds on here.

We are in the cycle, people

Whine about the character choice/inclusion
Play him or her
Turns out they are fun
Riot if they don't show up in the sequel

Pretty much.

I actually kind of like the character design I'm just beyond annoyed with every male in this game being Part 1/2 JoJo characters.

Ed was supposed to be the relief and then he ends up buff as hell too.

Hmmmm, I was wondering if they could salvage the overall character design but I can't say they did in my eyes, the arms and upper body in particular are so ridonkulous on top of the very marmite nineties design in general. At least they stuck to their guns though and it's something very different.

I remember when Akuma got heat. Like he isn't goofy looking but some Tekken fans were against it.

Once you play a fighter it's better than just looking at him. But some people choose on style, and that's fine too.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Ahh fuck.

Don't worry, he'll have a huge drawback to it. None of the parries in this game get away without being mildly free.

yeah, "the big guy from Final Fight (no, that other one)" sure is memorable

I just think it's cool that he's so tall. His size alone makes him unique in Street Fighter. I can't wait to abuse him with crazy character specific combos, instant overheads and fuzzy guard setups.

I like him, he's weird and fun.
I'm curious to see how other characters' grabs and moves will look on him, he'so huge...

Street Fighter is home to Blanka, Necro, and Twelve, so these "omg what happened to capcom" posts amuse me to no end. Grotesque oddballs are a Street Fighter staple and help give the series its unique charm. Abigail is the second truly zany design in a roster of 26 characters. That's not unreasonable.
