[EU PSN] New massive Summer sale (500+ items)

its mad max worth 13 euros ?

Yes, it absolutely is. The visuals are amazing, combat is fun - both melee and car combat -
the crunches when your melee attacks connect sound sooo satisfying! Well, the whole sound mix is very nice.

Some might argue that video game Max acts too altruistic and goes way too much out of his way to help strangers but hey, you don't need to do side quests if you don't want to. If you stick to the main story, it's selfish Max all the way. :)

Damn Tekken 7 goes on sale before Injustice 2, did not expect that, wanna get it but it's not that much of a discount, basically bringing it down to retail price..

Definitely getting Thumper and Rush of Blood. My VR set needs more action. Feel free to recommend more, but those seem like the must haves more off that list.

definitely get Statik if you enjoy fun puzzles and a Portal/HL atmosphere. can't recommend it enough.

also Batman.

goddamn thats a huge sale btw. i'm afraid to look at the full offering because i know i'll be significantly poorer afterwards. ohh well, i can't ignore The Witness forever so ok, i'll spend more money on games.

Thanks for the opinions on mad Max, Im with the Witcher and just bought yakuza but still for the price will probably get it just in case.

Hmm, Caligula for £20... okay then!

Also, STILL no sale on Atelier Ayesha Plus but all the other games have been on sale... what is going on?

First time since 2014 that I bought something on the PSN store for my PS3.

What a nightmare! Didn't have my password anymore - had to reset. That was cumbersome as hell already since I didn't have the right birthdate for my US account. Shit. I'll not be able to reset my account there I guess.

After that it's of to buying the stuff - I want to use my credit card - doesn't work for some reason. Okay, paypal then - the site wants my identification... What?
Okay, I give it the dates from my ID - doesn't work. After some talking I can get a college to use their ID to get me to buy the stuff. Works - I can now use paypal to buy stuff.
Now I wanna check out with the games and my payment method - IT ASKS ME AGAIN FOR MY ID!!

So I go over to my college and ask for it again. I've never had a worse experiment with a store before. If I had to jump through that many hoops when I wanted to buy something on Amazon or on Steam, I would just quit buying digital altogether.

Anyways, I now own Catherine and Persona 3 FES.

Yeah PS3 store is as clunky as hell, just use the website instead.

Yeah, the PSN store is seriously awful. It really likes to just randomly stop accepting credit cards/paypal for some reason, and Sony doesn't really seem to care.

Luckily you can just buy PSN wallet codes from Amazon. I've found that to be much less of a hassle then trying to get the PSN store to work.

The Battlefield 1 Ultimate package interests me. Is it easy to find servers running the DLC maps? With BF4 I bought the ultimate edition after it was out for a few years and most people seemed to just play the vanilla maps. It was only when DICE released them for free that I could find servers playing them.

...

Just use the web store. Just like you would on Steam.

When you've completed your purchase on the web store, you can get your downloads on PS3 in Account Management -> Transaction Management -> Download List. The list is a fucking mess because it's sorted by date purchased, but your latest purchases are at the top. You never have to touch that terrible store app as the download list is part of the XMB interface.

There are still plenty of players on the DLC, but it may die down after a month or two. I just played the DLC maps a week ago. The DLC Operations are nearly dead though, you'll only find regular Conquest, Rush or TDM games.

Played The Evil Within months ago and just couldn't get into it, tempted to go back and try again. Performance on Xbox One was terrible, PS4 any better?

Best game ever made with 100+ hours of content for twenty quid? Nah fam.

Yeah I guess it was a silly question really! Last game I bought on a whim was the Witcher 3 (again, GOTY in a PSN sale) & its turned out to be my new favourite game of all time.

Relatively new to PlayStation. Gonna dive in & buy it later.

How acessible is Inside ? Is it comparable to Limbo because while I enjoyed the game, I didn't particularly like how it plays.

Inside plays very similarly to Limbo, with a series of physics puzzles and a similarly oblique premise. If you didn't particularly like Limbo I don't think Inside will be your thing either.

hmm £10 for no man's sky. that's a price point i'm happy with. might go for it....it really can't be that bad, right?

I'm tempted too. I didn't particularly like it when I bought it at launch, but some of the stuff they've added sounds interesting and even if I got another 3-4 hours' enjoyment, £10 isn't a bad price.

This.

Titanfall 2 is also a steal, especially with 4 player co-op coming soon.

I'm tempted by Titanfall 2 because the campaign was so fucking great, but it feels like the kind of game which will drop in price physically soon.

Help me decide GAF, I have in my basket at the moment:

- Cosmic Star Heroine (£6.19)
- INSIDE (£6.49)
- Oxenfree (£3.99)
- ABZU (£5.79)
- The Witness (£6.99)

I have £15 PSN credit, so I'd like not to spend more than that. Which one would you pick?

What kind of game are you looking for, and what are your genre preferences?

I haven't played CSH yet, but it's a sizeable RPG in the mould of Phantasy Star as I understand.

I described Inside a little above. If you've played Limbo then you'll know what to expect. It's a platformer with physics puzzles with a very strange world and premise.

Oxenfree I've only played an hour or so, but it kind of feels like a Telltale game with more player agency.

ABZU is basically Journey underwater, and it's really lovely and absolutely stunningly beautiful, although it doesn't have any ideas of its own. If you haven't played Journey then I guess it's like a third-person walking simulator, or rather swimming simulator!

I haven't played The Witness (although I'm tempted to get it myself). It's a puzzle game from the guy who made Braid, and it's very sizeable.

Celceta is pretty widely considered as one of the weakest Ys games, particularly because of the combat. Origin is considered as being among the very best action RPGs ever made, and (together with Oath in Felghana) as the best the Ys series has to offer.

I'd say there's a fair chance you'll enjoy it more.

Your taste might be different for mine. I got Memories of Celeta for Vita, and really enjoyed it. Then again I also loved Ys Seven. But I later bought Ys Origin for Steam, and while I like the combat, I just can never play it for too long at a time. And it's just sitting there in my library. Not sure why. I'm not sure you would like Origins if you didn't like Celeta.

For myself though, maybe I just needed to have it portable.

edit: Sorry, double post!

Thanks for the input guys, although I think I'm going to sit it out for now. Already got quite a few JRPGs on my Vita that I haven't even touched.

GNOG and Rose in the Twilight for me, but most importantly KNACK.

Finally going to play this damn thing. It's inevitably going to go PS+ now that I'm buying it at long last.

Thanks for that, I think the price is still too steep for me then.

If you enjoy the MP aspect of it, its definitely worth the price to own it digitally. Even if you don't the upcoming co-op mode should provide some incentive to return to it.

This experience was brought to you by the web store :p

Regarding the cards, I thought about it, but I will most likely never buy anything on the PSN store again (never meaning at least during the PS4 era) and especially not on PS3 and I didn't wanna buy 15 Euro in cards for something that costs 10.98 Euro.

Will the US get something similar?

Come on dude, psn sales have been pretty much back to back in both regions.
Just a few weeks ago the us had a huge sale where you could find GoW3R for $5.99 and TO1886 for $3.99. They cost 19,99 and 12.99 euros respectively in this sale.
That's why I and many others have one account for each region.

Already beat Batman. I've just completed a Portal-like in The Turing Test, but I'll remember Statik for later. Looks interesting.

The Witness is a game about discovery and understanding. Your only direct interaction with the world is through line puzzles, so if you're not on board for engaging in that premise then it's going to be a harder sell, but for me it takes that concept and takes it to the absolute highest point. The art style is great, there's a lot to explore, there's a depth to the game that's not immediately apparent, and your sense of accomplishment at understanding what you need to be doing is unparalleled because no one's telling you what to do. All the progress you make is directly because you've learned something and applied it. You're gradually taught more and more through the puzzles you discover, and there's a moment in the game for everyone that gets into it where something clicks, and you see the whole game from a new perspective. It's an incredible experience I wish I could wipe from my brain and discover anew.

Also a great Pro patch and HDR was added too.

Sony is killing my wallet.

This in combination of the last days of the last sale still going on PSN i can easily spend 150 bucks.

Gonna need carefully decide what im gonna buy because that would be too much.
