I think gamefreak needs a major shake up. New creative leadership, bigger teams and a bigger budget. The series has just been going down the drain since XY. Bw2 were the last good games. I don't think they transitioned well to the 3ds era and now I'm worried about the switch era.
It's a special evolution done at dusk, I bet most people who play Pokemon don't even know the word dusk. Can't imagine they would put in a whole bunch of effort for an evolution at a time of day no one even knows. The segment today probably exists so children could learn the word 'tasogare' today on pokenchi.
People should learn to keep their expectations in check, it's a few second clip on a Sunday morning cartoons variety show. If you got overhyped, that's on you.
You can call gen 6 disappointing if you want, but that sentiment seems more prominent on GAF than anywhere else.

This was actually more info than I expected. Didn't Masuda show up one time and just replayed the old trailer everyone already saw? Pokenchi is not the place for announcements, look towards Corocoro or the website updates.
I honestly don't think we will get any big updates until September anyways. Even last year when Sun and Moon came out, we didn't get notable website updates until about August.
i'll admit that i'm not in every pokemon community out there, but in the ones i'm in, gen 6 is easily considered the worst. it's far from being a "gaf thing". so much that i agree with you on your point that Sun/Moon got better reception - but gen 6 is still pretty despised pretty much everywhere else.

EDIT: why is US/English calling it Dusk form when all the other languages call it Twilight form
lolDawn Lycanroc confirmed:
Why would they erase the best gen
That's is the opposite of general perception. Outside of Pokémon design. Gen V is considered to have the best story, as well as post game besides Johto, Hoenn(Emerald), and Sinnoh.
In starting to worry its because theres not much to reveal. It looks the same... so far the new info for this game has been boring. They're being even more secretive than normal... They could have given us like 3 more forms to tide us over
In starting to worry it's because there's not much to reveal.
We don't even know what the fuck these games are yet. Are the sequels? Third versions split into two games? Enhanced remakes? Alternate storyline? What the fuck even are Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon
When I saw the screenshot on Serebii before I read the news text I thought it was just an announcement of a distribution of a shiny day form Lycanroc.I had to do compare it side-by-side with the Midday form just to figure out the differences. They didn't even try with this one.
Considering they charge $5 for More storage: 0%So.. What are the odds of them increasing the PC size mid-generation? Because I'm running out of room with my complete dex, all Vivillon patterns, All Minior colors and a bunch of the event pokemon.
The hyperbole here is ridiculous. This is a single form of a Pokemon that doesn't headline either game, announced on a show where they don't do big announcements. Sun and Moon were received pretty positively overall. You can call gen 6 disappointing if you want, but that sentiment seems more prominent on GAF than anywhere else. We don't even know anything about USUM yet. Why don't we wait and see how it shapes up? It could end up with the best post game content in the series and a healthy mix of gyms and trials for all we know.
Everybody needs to calm down. At least wait for some Directs or the *actual* release before dogging USUM. All this over fucking Lycanroc. FFS
Gen V isn't particularly popular outside of GAF. For good reason. That's is the opposite of general perception. Outside of Pokémon design. Gen V is considered to have the best story, as well as post game besides Johto, Hoenn(Emerald), and Sinnoh.
I'm trying not to jump into conclusions but since the XY era I get this strong feeling that GF lost the ambition to make a truly groundbreaking Pokemon game. But what I said is the truth. Nearly everything coming out of Gamefreak has been lazy since XY:
XY has been considered by many as the worst gen and worst games in the series. It wasn't a good set of games for the mainlines debut on the 3DS hardware. Even GF quickly moved on from it and wanted to forget about it.
ORAS seemed like half-assed remakes and added very little of anything new to Gen 3. They didn't even include the battle frontier.
SM, while better then the two previous two sets of games, was disappointing. No post game, performance issues, linear, pointless cut-scenes, hand holding, very little challenge, small region, bad story, etc...
We've seen very little of USUM, but everything we have seen, screams " Milking the 3DS user base one more time!". There has just been a lot of issues with GF the last 4-5 years. And now with development moving to switch, they are gonna have to put some more money and effort into this series.
Sun and Moon are my second favorite mainline games. Third if we count the remakes as separate from the originals. It's funny how that works. Personally, I would argue SM has the best story of any Pokemon game yet, and an incredible amount of memorable new Pokemon.
Gen V isn't particularly popular outside of GAF. For good reason.
Praising Gen V for having the best story doesn't mean much. None of the Pokemon stories are good. All of them have utterly vapid dialogue, and I'd honestly take X&Y's non-story over Black & White's constant interruptions to gameplay with its PETA narrative.
Gen V also has the second worst batch of new Pokemon designs in the series after Sun & Moon. It has the second worst region in the series, again after Sun & Moon. Unova lacks colour, has immemorable locales and the path you take through it is boringly linear. I remember being excited to get to Castelia pre-release, but when I did I realized it was just a big empty hub with nothing to do in it. Lumiose City is fantastic in comparison.
Sun & Moon are the worst Pokemon games in the series.Lol what
Bah.Sun & Moon are the worst Pokemon games in the series.
Worst new Pokemon.
Worst region that's extremely small and has the same few Pokemon everywhere.
Awfully linear progression through the region.
God-awful story that is pushed so hard and holds your hand for a good 60% of the adventure, and even after then is around every corner.
Regression of XY in so many areas. Going from the PSS to the Festival Plaza is a joke. Ease of breeding in comparison to Gen VI is a joke. Trainer Customisation is worse in SM than in XY.
I could go on.
Damn, Sun & Moon are my favorite versions. The region is amazing, the trials is a fresh new way to approach the progression (needs improvement but it's a start), the villains are amazing I was really glad how the story turned out.

You're allowed to say that Sun & Moon was a good game, but other people are allowed to disagree and give their reasons why.Apparently you're not allowed to say that Sun and Moon was a good game for you without someone telling you why your opinion is wrong.
No but it's very very likely that it's simply a third version of the game.So we still don't know if these are third versions of S/M or sequels, right?
I understand that. Then let me say my opinion of the game without having someone tell me it's bad when I didn't do the same for everyone and their B/W.You're allowed to say that Sun & Moon was a good game, but other people are allowed to disagree and give their reasons why.

Nobody in this thread has even quoted you and attacked Sun & Moon. Every post that's critical of Sun & Moon seem completely independent of yours.I understand that. Then let me say my opinion of the game without having someone tell me it's bad when I didn't do the same for everyone and their B/W.
I was too... except for the part whereLusamine fused with Nihilego and you fought her Pokemon instead of her who literally became a Pokemon. After all the new and fresh concepts and twists of the Pokemon formula, this was the biggest misstep and a major downer.
