I feel like the last 2 episodes could have used much less Goku.
Anytime he's fighting in base post episode 98 isn't really needed.

Feels like it undersells the one magical girls transformation when Goku doesn't even go SSJ. Would have made more sense for 18 to fight her.

Yeah I figured this would be being talked about more. One of them looks so much like Piccolo.

And like I said in my last post, this has to mean that U6/U7 are connected on a deeper level at this point.

Yeah, I'd definitely prefer it uncensored, but oh well... If they abuse it you can expect the backlash to be huge, so I don't think they'll do that.
Not sure about the US version, but I would like to know too.

Are they waiting for the new nameks before having so anything at all ?? I hope not. What a waste. Tien I can understand...

Anyway the previews leave out a LOT of things, so I'd rather believe what Gohan said over scans stuff.

Man, this episode really sucked. Aside from 17 & 18, there was so much time wasted on that transformation and their introduction.

That was a great ep! I was expecting a cringey job from 17, instead we got his best fight in Super so far.
I don't think Ribrianne is gonna beat him. Simply because all the Vegeta vs Ribrianne fight scenes seemed to happen this ep, so I don't think she's fighting him again. Therefore, I don't think there's anything that alludes to her beating him now.
At the very least, its 50/50

The first half of the episode was pretty bad. No need to redo the transformation animation, which in turn made me pay attention to the animation of 17's fight which was not very good. Especially when he was moving toward the sun I think it was when it was literally just a still image being rotated. I know they do this pretty often, but that transformation redo really made me pay too much attention to it. Still looking forward the the next few episodes though.

Can U6 saiyans even get a Zenkai boost? I would think it'd be like Goku and Vegeta where their base is so high that being healed after a near death experience wouldn't help?

A healer in the U6 team would be neat, the issue with that is U6 needs to lose somebody and fast, which I guess they could set up as the healer going out first.

Vegetas face was perfect this episode, he has shined with the very little screen time given to him during the tournament.

If the knockout list is true and Vegeta is gonna get knocked out very soon, it definitely feels like he is going to get done dirty rather than being taken out by a stronger fighter. Freiza and Frost will be the ones to do it.

If he does get knocked out, i hope it's a fight fight. Things have been pretty light hearted so far which is okay since it's DB, but nothing has have a lot of weight yet.

The intensity needs to ramp up soon. Especially when concerning the main players.

I'm okay with the tournament residing on one end of the spectrum or the other, but I really don't like the huge contrast in tone between episodes like this and that of universe 9's elimination. It's my biggest issue with the whole arc.

The padding here was bad though, why did the staff feel redoing the transformation was a good idea?

Kinda looked like an expensive episode, the animation in general was pretty darn good, maybe they ran out of budget/time or something.

No more than any other Super episode, there were two supervisors like usual.
There were only 5 animators, this was a very conservative episode. The reuse of the transformation was for a gag.

Is akira toriyama the main guy doing the designs on this thing. Because It feels like this tournament is " ok I ain't never gonna get to the opportunity to do this because I'm DB/Dragonquest guy nor do I have the patience to commit to doing a manga about this at my age... But I can put it in DB"

Great episode. #17 was good fun to watch. His VA sounds like Daigo Umehara lol. The bit where he interrupted the transformation was genuinely hilarious. I actually paused and burst out laughing. He gives zero shits xD Soured only marginally by the fact we had to watch it again. Also U6 Namekians!

Eh, the dub was decent at the time. Also, whoever thought it was a good idea to bring that guy back is totally wrong.

We don't know entirely who has designed who, it's probably a mix of Toriyama, Toyotaro and Yamamuro.

I get that's the whole point of Dragon Ball but when you step back and think about it? He's right lol

Yeah, bloody stupid, if they'd left it with game over after that blast it would have been a much better episode. That was the funniest thing all season... until it wasn't because they were ok. I was then hoping android 18 would come in and do the same, followed by freeza....

Outside of Caulifla, who is confirmed to be a Toriyama creation, so far we've only seen Yamamuro art for all the new tournament fighters. Of course, every character who appears in the anime has to get Yamamuro art, so it doesn't necessarily mean that he designed them all. The New GoDs were designed by Toriyama and Toyotaro though.

We saw them (as shadows) in the episode 96, if i recall correctly.
