Trump addresses Charlottesville [Up: Trump's people force him to croak out "racism"]

It's weird that he won't even say it.

Surely his base would just think he has to say it and not take it to heart or are they that thick?

In a small amount of fairness to Trump, it's entirely possible that, in the Inside Out of Trump's brain, "It was really bad" and "we must heal" is all he's cognitively able to muster.

You could easily tell when he was reading the hastily prepared speech and when he veered off-script. The fact that there was no powerful denunciation smacks of Miller/Bannon. And when Trump off-roaded into word vomit...

I think there's a strong chance that he's simply too stupid and possesses such a limited vocabulary that his emotions are always going to appear out of Nazi-like lockstep with his words.

No it is not possible. He is politicizing this shit to play to his racist, degenerate base. Don’t normalize this shit.

I fucking Miss Obama.

No, actually I just miss normalcy. I miss when Presidents were Presidents.

I miss last fucking year when his run for Presidency was a joke and the worst thing was a bunch of celebrity deaths. When all the major racists were all hiding in their troll caves.

Hell, I miss goofy Bush Jr. at this point.

We know what the deal is.

Trump is afraid to lose his white supremacist voter base.

He needs racists on his side to stay in office.

That's why he won't ever come down hard against their violence.

Jesus, Trump just read off his paper like a fucking robot. Good to see our president doesn't give a fuck about people dying. He at one point basically says not my fault!

Then he talks about low unemployment to try to make himself look better. He was clearly trying to distance himself from being associated with it. Fuck him.

It's really super easy for most politicians to condemn White Supremacists, even the most racist of the bunch. Trump can't because he can't attack those that like him and support those that loath him. He is incapable.

Even Paul Ryan and Mike Huckabee did, Trump is such an idiotic coward that he doesnt even realize he could easily get away with it and have the media off his back if he just said nazis are bad.

no president will ever have an easier opportunity to see wrong and try, with his words, to right it. Trump would not do it.

Are we talking about content or articulation, because I agree he is not a great orator, content wise the situation is fresh, details are being updated as we go, he didnt make any huge fuckups so far as I can tell and played it, as I said, safe. Would be very easy of him to say the wrong thing and he didnt.

Just stop.

Trump said:
There is no place for this kind of violence in America.

Don't see how Trump can say this when he encouraged violence at his own rallies.

And just a reminder:

Trump pick for USDA labelled progressives "race traitors".

The actions in Charlottesville are perfectly aligned with his administration.

Disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting.

What are we going to do about this?

Terrorist Nazi fucks have committed a terror attack and right wingers want to talk about both sides.

Call it what it is. Right-wing terrorism.

Disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting.

What are we going to do about this?

Vote in 2018. Vote in 2020. Vote always. Call your representatives. Set up recurring donations to organizations with whom you agree (I donate monthly to the ACLU). Denounce hate wherever you see it, including within your friend circles and families.

Not excuse. He's the President

Oh, that was my indirect point. One of the most non-controversial, objective takeaways from this entire disaster is that he's incomprehensible and makes shamefully bad choices solely to pander to his base.

(Plus, he's a hateful bigot.)

But he has no ability whatsoever to lead or to handle a crisis.

There is no mpre debate to be had. No more understanding. Trump supports nazi/klan right wingers and if you support him then by proxy so do you.

The response by many on the right echoes what we saw when a left politician was murdered here in the UK before the Brexit vote by a far right individual. It was all "both sides have made this debate toxic, everyone needs to calm down". Disgraceful.

I shudder to think how he would handle an actual international crisis

Fuck Trump!

He may as well be behind the wheel of these cars.

Millions of Republicans will see the Solidarity poster with the clenched fist, equate that with communism, and declare that Stalin and Mao killed millions of people.

He actually pulled the 'both sides' bullshit?

Cowardly, transparent alt-right fuckbag!

How dare he try to paint the victims as part of problem, all the while not even trying to condemn the nazi behind the wheel.

I have no interest in hearing another word that comes out of Trump's mouth. He stoked this shit for years and benefitted from it.

These people are utterly revolting--and have no understanding of America. This creedal nation explicitly rejects "blood & soil" nationalism.

Every Republican can muster a better response than cheeto.
