Overwatch |OT10| That'll do pig, that'll do

With KOTH, I usually try to hang back as Zen and just snipe. His Ult is great for the team fights so he's very good there. Def need to look out for flankers.

Yup, I always try to stay back and snipe. But those Tracers... and now the Reapers are getting in on the fun. Flankers are a nightmare in solo-q KOTH for Zen.

I mean I'm currently in that skill bracket too on PC, lol. I'm just saying, I don't feel like most support at that level are very good at multi tasking or actually believe their partner is the only person they can depend on.

Yeah, this is common in sub-Plat on console, and it sucks every time.

I've seen it in mid masters on PC. Only when their duo is a widowmaker though.

I have had the worst luck with these loot boxes. i have managed to get four legendaries from this event and three of those were non-event ones.

First Comp match of the day

No healers, no tanks, a widowmaker, both on attack and defense against a team that is using sane tactics.

I complain a lot about team comp, but I can't remember the last time I got a game with actually no healer whatsoever. I feel like my team just accidentally hit comp when they meant to play quickplay.

Has anyone here tried Deathmatch on the PTR? I haven't been able to get into a game of Team Deathmatch yet, but I've done a few free-for-alls. I really, really don't like it. It takes the best parts of Overwatch (the teamwork and the class system) and just chucks it out the window. It's honestly just...bad.

Speaking personally, Deathmatch is a better alternative to warm up before going into a competitive match. The only reason why I would pick Quick Play was for that reason, or to get some practice with a hero that I don't normally use.

It's also a lot of fun, and it's a better alternative to CTF (which needs to be reworked at this time).

And now a Hanzo that couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and won't switch. Second loss in a row due to shitty teammates up against players that are good. One more round and if I get the impression that today is "Make Veelk lose all his games today" in Overwatch, I'm heading out.

It does show the need for "Lone wolf" characters like oldHog. You want a character that can work without having to depend on your team.

Yea, def a good place to warmup since no need to worry about objectives. Better than bots.

Whew. Had a leaver, and that would have been the coup de grâce on my play session today since we destroyed them in the first round, but thankfully he came back and we won the game. We'd probably have gotten a cleaner victory if he hadn't but hey, a wins a win.

I have my best comp games after midnight, or between 9-12 am. Eastern time.

Anytime I play before then it's usually strait L's for wutever reason.

It's a close match all the way through Oasis. Score is 2-2.

*Hey guys, how about now is the time we practice wierd comps even though they're not doing that?!*

Get a crushing loss.

*sigh*

Why does it seem like I'm amazing at lucioball?

Always at least 3 goals and at least 15 interceptions a match. Already gotten all 3 lucioball achievements too.

And given how the game gave me a summer lucio skin while i'm doing placements, it is obviously telling me something...

Noice. Didn't have a great day in comp (lost my last three placements to end up 5-5 and placed in mid-Gold), but then I got the only skin I really wanted in my third summer loot box. I can officially take my foot off the pedal for the rest of the event, since anything else I get is just gravy.

Ugh I still haven't done my placements this season... I must find the courage.

Just tunnel vision and do them quickly. I got them out of the way over the past 3 days. I did well in the first 7 games (5-2) then lost the last three in a row. Sucks since my last few games were against all Plat folks, so I think I missed it by a hair.

Yeah my motto is gonna be to spend 20 on each anniversary event.

This anniversary was the first time I bought any so I'll just continue along with that.

I've always done 50 every event since launch (and if we're being honest, it was 150 last summer because I had to get Sprinter Tracer and never use it for some reason).

Seems like a lot, but my gaming expenses have dropped to probably 20% of their previous levels thanks to Overwatch.

I haven't spent a dime on Overwatch ever since pre-ordering the Origins Edition. I don't see the point in spending money on this game. In my 70 hours playing (aka not that much since I often take months off from the game when it burns me out), I have a bunch of seasonal skins, including Yeti Winston, Ironclad Torbjorn, and Grillmaster 76. Basically you won't be drowning in skins but you'll have enough to be happy.

Plus with year-old seasonal skins being purchasable for regular prices, you can just grind gold over the course of the year and save up 1k gold for any seasonal legendary from last year that you want. I'm definitely picking up Mercy's Witch skin for 1k gold during the next Halloween event, for example.

I hate when people switch off important characters in the middle of a match. Dude drops Orisa to go Soldier right as the team is coming in to the 2nd point, we have no other shield, so their Soldier wipes the team and they cap easy. Really don't know what's going through people's minds sometimes.

Also got a "Im hiding for res" Mercy earlier that kept letting us get slaughtered so she could res us to get slaughtered again, shit character.

I'm one-shotting a lot of 200hp heroes as hog (hook-shot-melee, even without using a shot before), like ana and sombra when they are at full health.

Did something change in this last patch that wasn't on the notes?

I see no reason for not using hog on comp again. It's time baby.

Is there a way to practice the Lucio Ball game like the regular game? Played a couple of matches for the first time today, and the game just sort of drops you into the fray and assumes you know what you're doing. I feel so slow and every time I hit the ball it just sort of scoots along.

Direction you're facing affects angle you hit ball. Aim up to knock the ball upwards
Melee = light hit on ball
Right Click = Boop on ball. Remember this operates like regular boop in the game so there is a cone of effect which can help you hit the ball in weird ways if you want. This is pretty much your "shot" on the ball
Amp it up = speed boost
Ult = speed boost to ludicrous speed!
jump pads are used for getting height
Wallriding is faster than regular ground movement so use that to your advantage

Real mixed bag today. I probably played 20+ games. Some wins, some losses, some good games, some terrible.

In the end, I'm 30 points lower SR than I was, but that's okay I guess, since it means I'm maintaining my position.

I wish I could do 20 in one day/seating. I think I can't go beyond 10 without taking a breather

Well, it wasn't one sitting. I took breaks. It helps that I didn't really go on any losing streaks. If I lose 2, I then win 2. It makes you feel like you're stuck in the mud, but better that than loss after loss after loss.

But it kind of goes to show how good the game is. The problem is that the game is as stressful as much as it was fun. It's such a dice roll. You can either get good teammates or you get leavers, toxic assholes or simply bad players. And your SR is on the line, so as much as anything matters in Overwatch, getting a bad matchup can be an automatic loss.

I'm currently in 2800SR and don't have any goals to go higher, which means I can lose a few matches without sweating it. But if I was trying to get into diamond from here, I'd be pretty pissed off.

More than anything, I just want Overwatch to have an unranked mode. The awesome games of Comp without the cost of Comp.

The map needs a wall or two in the middle.
