This is strangely super appropriate. Yakuza team will do a great job and hub based brawler - ARPG would work quite well for FOTNS. Only one thing is missing. Where is the tank gif?!

Oh, and I hope they reuse Yakuza character models. That would be even more amazing.

Yup.
Keep in mind that it is a show of it's time, but nowadays just approach it for 'fun factor'
It has lots of crazy post apocalyptic kung fu and manly men going about doing manly things.
Also the filler in the anime aren't bad since it is more of Kenshiro going around beating and blowing up thugs.

I too think the anime is probably quite dated by today's standard, but the manga stands up very well, the art is still one of the best there is (and my personal favourite of all time). But without the anime, we wouldn't have the classic YOU WA SHOCK!!

I have always felt that FotNS must have been one of the influences for the Yakuza series, because of all the "manly tears" moments, those mano a mano showdowns between two muscular and and topless men, and Kiryu is pretty much Kenshiro, in looks and personality.

This is a game I've always wanted but never realised I wanted it until now. A Yakuza styled Fist of the North Star makes a lot of sense.

^^^This. I never knew just how badly I wanted this because I just never considered how much sense the combination makes. And I love that even the logo treatment really drives home that this will be a Yakuza style Fist of the North Star game.

It's quite clear to me.

Launching two dudes with one uppercut then popping devil trigger doth not a Musou make.

If you look closely it even has the same crowd of bystanders that gather to form a perimeter and watch you fight in the other Yakuza games. There are, at most, 8 active enemies in that footage.

Fist of the North Star is about a man made of pure muscle wandering the post-apocalyptic wastelands of the future, saving people from evil muscle dudes using Hokuto Shinken, a martial art that causes people to explode by being punched.

It's the dumbest awesomest shit.
