After registering trademarks for Shenmue HD and Shenmue Remastered earlier in the year, it was looking likely that we'd be getting prettied-up versions of the first two Shenmue games on PC at some point. Now Sega have admitted they're working on making it happen.

”It's something we would love to make happen, something we are trying to make happen," Sega Europe's executive vice president of publishing John Clark tells MCV. "I think we want it to happen as much as anybody out there. Yes, it's a serious task and it's not a task that we're not working on, if that makes sense. It's something we're actively pursuing."

'It's not a tast we're not working on' sounds suspiciously like 'we are working on it', doesn't it? Elsewhere in the interview, Clark says the list of potential PC ports they want to make is "almost identical" to the community wishlist.

SEGA are running out of road on this one. They just come off as dithering whenever this topic gets brought up.

Their comments on Shenmue HD have barely evolved in two years, and dancing around the issue with weird PR babble isn't really helping.
